My daughter and I had lunch today at Union Public House and really enjoyed the experience overall. We sat in a booth and loved the beautiful atmosphere and cozy ambience. We shared the chicken bacon ranch pizza and the garlic Sriracha fries- both were absolutely delicious, well-prepared, and presented nicely. The only downside was the service. I understand they were short-staffed, but our waitress didn't check back in on us, offer refills, or ask about dessert. After waiting a while, another staff member kindly stepped in to bring takeout boxes and our bill. Overall, great food and a lovely setting--just hoping for more attentive service next time! read more

We ventured out last Saturday and tried this restaurant for the first time and had a great experience. The service was fast and friendly. I thought the cocktails were a bit expensive but not for what they serve you in terms of quality and quantity. My wife enjoyed a brick oven pizza and I was happy with their house cheeseburger. Stopped in at the bar early evening after some holiday/tax free shopping. It was exactly the vibe I wanted and things were made even better after I got charged happy hour prices which I had no idea was going on (1/2 off apps daily 4-6 I think). The cocktail with bourbon, charred pineapple and ginger was excellent (I was able to get it straight up). Fried calamari was good too tho pretty typical. The pizzas next to me looked good, would check it out again if I make my way back to Nashua. read more

My wife went with a group of coworkers to a 2:30 show at the Nashua Performing Arts Center and they had brunch here first. Food was good, however service was terrible. A 25% gratuity was automatically added to the bill (Waitress wasn't worth 10%). Be aware that they don't tell you that it's extra, but they charge $1.00 for an extra cup of ketchup (cups were small). Never heard of a restaurant charging for ketchup. They also don't have jelly to have with toast (What kind of brunch doesn't have jelly?). Wife said that she wouldn't go back. read more

However, the chicken would have been much better with some seasoning. It was lacking in flavor but the food was hot and presented nicely. Union Public House opened for business on February 29, 2024 in Downtown Nashua, located at the corner of Main and East Pearl Streets, formerly an old bank space (Nashua Trust Co) and previous restaurants in this space were recently Bellissimo, Fratello's, and Villa Banca. The place was redone and has the atmosphere of a classic modern downtown bar and restaurant, with dim lighting, painted black walls, new overhanging lighting, and exposed brick walls with framed portrait paintings, some in candid poses. There is table seating, booths, high top tables and seating at the bar with a TV. The bar offers up to 12 draft beers (rotating selection), bottle beers, wine, mixed drinks, and cocktails. The food menu offerings include a variety of appetizers, seafood raw bar, wood fired pizzas, salads, sandwich & burger plates, tuna tacos, main entrees (steaks, chicken, pasta, scallop risotto, salmon, lamb, pork chop), and desserts. The prices here are moderate and comparable to other restaurants in the area. I made an online reservation for good measure and arrived here just after 5 pm on Night 2 bu. The place was quite busy on a Friday evening. After I was promptly seated at a reserved high top in front near the bar, I was given menus to look at. I already looked at the menus beforehand and was ready to order as the server arrived with a bottle of cold water and poured glass. I decided to stick with Italian food on this visit in honor of the previous restaurants in this space. For a starter, the Calamari ($15 plus tax) came out very hot, which was comprised of deep fried crispy breaded rings, tentacles, & carrot chips, with lemon aioli, scallions, and marinara sauce for dipping. This starter was pretty good. For dinner, the Pasta al la Vodka ($24 plus tax) which was served in a bowl with a lightly spiced cream sauce with cheese stuffed sacchetti pasta pockets, topped with fried sage leaves, crispy pancetta & parmesan cheese. I really enjoyed this pasta dish which had a nice spicy kick and was just enough to finish in one sitting. For dessert, the Limoncello Cheesecake ($10 plus tax), which had a almondine nut crust, mascarpone, lemon zest, strawberry drizzle & whipped cream. The chilled cheesecake slice had a dense texture and sweet tart flavor. This cheesecake was pretty decent. After I was done, the check was presented which was $53.17 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food here was solid good on my initial visit to the Union Public House. I would like to try other dishes on their menu next time such as the Mussels, the Union Burger, and one of their wood fired pizzas (they have a pizza oven in the open back area of the space). The service was adequate and my food came out in timely fashion. I was in and out in 45 minutes and knowing what I wanted ahead of time helped. Reservations are strongly advised on busy nights. The place was all booked up for table reservations and the bar was open seating, which was pretty much at capacity for the most part. Some folks tried to be seated without reservations, but some left and others waited for seats to open up at the bar. read more

Arrived for a late Valentines dinner. Was brought to a back room with very little decor and no mood lighting. Ordered Calamari as an appetizer and it was rubbery and bland. The menu said it had cherry peppers but they used peppercini and did not come with the lemon aoli. Not a big deal but showed a lack of attention to detail. Ordered the chicken francese and again it was very bland and the lemon was undetectable. The linguine was very basic with almost no flavor. Then ordered the tiramisu and it looked like it was plated using a laddle. Very haphazardly tossed on a plate. I have to say that I held high hopes for this restaurant. The food was good but the service was awful! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the hostess told us we had 1 1/2 hours before next reservation. I have never been told "yes we have a table but you need to be done in a set time." The waitress was so unbelievably bad. First the oysters came out and we didn't get any horseradish on the side, so we thought it was pre made. No it was straight ketchup! We asked for more lemons and horseradish. We had another waitress with two thin drink slices on lemon from the bar on a napkin. It also took 25 min at least to get the bottle of Verve we ordered. She came back three times to clarify. Never set up a chiller for the champagne until afterward. We thought she was going to hit us in the face opening the bottle. The food was decent, but never once throughout the only 3 appetizers we ordered, (to which almost took 2 hours to get these 3), did she ask how are food tasted or if she could get us anything. She never scanned the room after helping another guest, even though we were trying to get her attention. Then we finished our night asking for tiramisu. She never asked how many we wanted, then brought us the check. Then still didn't clarify, and brought us one with no silverware to eat with. Another waitress proceeds to bring us forks and puts them in the tiramisu bowl, which they proceeded to get it all over the forks and ruin the presentation. We asked to speak with a manager and no one ever came. I'm only giving any ratings because food was decent, other than the ketchup for the oysters, which totally turned me off them. read more

Cute downtown area! I loved the vibe and the drinks. The Wednesday Addams was amazing and our server with the short hair was very attentive.

I have been here a couple of times and quality is amazing. I travel a lot and enjoy a good cosmopolitan martini. Hands down Shea at the bar makes the best one I have had anywhere around here! Tried this place again since it first opened. I was with my wife and three single friends. We had a round corner table a great view of the restaurant. The restaurant looked "clean" and inviting. It was lively, but not noisy.The menu had a great appetizers, a variety of wood fired pizzas, and many interesting mains. The server was very helpful with the different requests by gang based upon preferences and allergies. I had the Lamb Osso Buco with au gratin potatoes and roasted vegetables. The Lamb was fall off the bone delicious. Everyone else also highly enjoyed their meals. I had a Bombay Sapphire on the rocks with a generous pour for only $9.00! At the end of the evening the gang asked the server split the checks individually which she did without hesitation. I would highly recommend this place for the food, service, atmosphere and ambiance. DO NOT EAT HERE. Just had dinner here with my fiance and threw up at the restaurant after eating mishandled lamb or oasters. After bringing it up to the waitress she had the manager come over who then proceeded to let me know she's not a physician but it couldn't be the food, and food poisoning can only hit after 6-12 hours and maybe I recently developed a shellfish allergy that caused me to throw up. On top of that my fiancé ordered a steak medium, it was well done, the couple nekxt to us received a completely burnt pizza and a martini in a cracked glass. I will never go back here. Simply because of the way a situation was handled. Usually I dont even care to post but I went to culinary school and now am a sales manager and I know how to treat a customer right. I walked into the new restaurant completely slipped and wiped out. The hostesses pretended not too notice and did not apologize and simply asked to write it down. I said I guess so. We then were brought to our table where no one apologized. The waitress did not neither did the manager. If this happened to one of my customers I would have handled this way differently. The manager in a white shirt with a braid then came over to bring us our drinks. I asked if she was the manager and she said yes. I was like well I wanted to let you know I did fall and she said oh yeah and brushed it off the girls at the front told me and they did everything they needed to do. She explained she didnt want to come over to apologize about the situation because she did not want to embarrass me. I think it is quite embarrassing that this was the approach she took for a new restaurant that just opened. I could have been pregnant or had a baby in my hands! Overall, I am very surprised by this experience. I will not be back. Food was fine. But this just goes to show how customers will be treated. read more

Service and Ambiance were very good. The drinks are good but a little pricey. Meatza Pizza was excellent. Pasta Ala Vodka was good but portion size and presentation was fair. Just went for the first time tonight. Sat at the bar and were helped by Mike, Shay and Christa. Service was excellent!! They all made sure our pizzas were cooked just like we wanted, they refilled our drinks quickly... all were so friendly and helpful!! The food was outstanding!! We had 2 pizzas and the best ceasar salad with chicken... and the chocolate torte for dessert.. fantastic!! strongly recommend checking them out, great addition to Downtown Nashua!! read more

The menu is a refreshing departure from the typical Nashua fare, familiar options with a new take. I started with the crab cakes which were the perfect texture and came with a mouth-friendly balance of savory and sweet accompanying sauce and garnish. For my main, I had the 8oz filet cooked medium rare; the fork fell right into the meat and I could have cut it with a butter knife. Every bite melted in my mouth like it was a tuna steak. I finished the meal with s'mores which had home made graham crackers and a lava cake style chocolate and marshmallow filler. I ordered the bronze salmon which was drowning in sauce and overcooked. My husband ordered the ribeye, and it was overcooked as well. Visited for the first time. Crowded, long wait list but we had reservations. Let me cut to the chase. After looking forward to going to this new place, I was very excited. However, it was such an average visit. The service was very average. We had to hunt our waiter down more than once, for things like silverware after our meal was delivered. Did not check on us during the meal. Now to the food. Calamari for app. Only fair, slightly overcooked. Entrees. I had the Chicken Francesca. Arrived luke warm. The chicken had been sitting on the pasta long enough that it was very soggy, not great flavor. Really needed more seasonings. It was swimming in the sauce. Friend had the chicken sandwich, she was also disappointed in the seasoning. It was served on a metal tray which was odd since this was dinner service. It should have been presented in another way so it didn't look like lunch. The men at the table ordered the pork chop and the scallops. They seemed to be ok with their dinners. Dessert. The chocolate tort is awesome. Ask for it to be heated. Really made it even better. Limoncello cheesecake was good in flavor but the texture was grainy. To sum, it was disappointing. The interior design is really nice and stylish and the drinks were very good. The food is where the issue is. I feel like I am a good judge of restaurants as myself and my family probably eat out 3 times per week, everywhere from restaurants in Southern NH all the way into Boston. We got the meatball appetizer which for $16 was extremely small as they only gave you two small meatballs, a third meatball would have been a nice touch as is what most restaurants do. I got the Pasta Bolognese which was absolutely flavorless to the point where I did not even finish my meal and I am a pretty big eater. My wife got the Chicken Francese which was so bland and dry and she actually had to ask for more Francese sauce as there was none on the chicken or the pasta. Every time I have ordered this dish anywhere else, the sauce is draped over the chicken for additional flavor, that seems like cooking 101 if you ask me. This was a Saturday night out for us that was a bust as there are so many other restaurants we could have tried. I would not go back to eat, maybe just for drinks as the food was that flavorless.
