Cobra Tactical in Valencia should be ashamed of how they treat customers. This was easily one of the most blatant cash grab experiences I have ever had at an FFL. A PPT transfer is a standard $47.19 in California. Instead, they charged me well above that amount and piled on extra fees with zero transparency. Yes, they charged for a gun lock, which I accepted without complaint. But on top of that, they tacked on nearly $25 to $30 in completely bogus fees that were never disclosed ahead of time. When I called them out on it, their response was that they need these charges to keep the store running. That is not my problem, and it is not an excuse to squeeze customers. You already made money off the lock and storage related charges. The fact that you still felt the need to extract even more money tells me everything I need to know about how this shop operates. Most FFLs in California do not pull this nonsense. Many will loan a lock, waive garbage fees, and actually try to earn repeat business. Cobra Tactical had every opportunity to make this right and chose greed instead. As a result, I have reported this experience to the California Department of Justice and have shared it across multiple online firearms communities. People deserve to know which shops operate with integrity and which ones nickel and dime their customers under the table. I will never return here and more importantly, I will actively advise people in both Southern and Northern California to stay far away from this place. There are far better FFLs out there. Cobra Tactical is an embarrassment to the community.

Even after three years of taking the same classes, I still learn new things. If you want to be a consistent, composed, disciplined shooter, look nowhere else because your money and TIME will be well-spent with Sensei. Most other classes I have taken do not care how accurate you are. Sensei makes sure that all of his students operate at extremely high levels because the value he has to provide is at a superb level that I can't comprehend. Sensei is a Veteran Police Fire Arm instructor in southern California if I remember correctly. He does Tac-1 for civilians like you and me

There's a lot of information on the internet on how to shoot but nothing beats having an experienced instructor in person to help correct and guide you through the process. The class had a nice progression that I think worked well for a new shooter like myself. First we talked about safe gun handling practices and gun laws followed by a demonstration of each component of a semi auto handgun. Next we talked about sight alignment before finishing the class with live shooting. Overall I think I gained some valuable information. I recommend this to anyone who is an absolute beginner with handguns

I reached out to Paula through the club, and she took the time to explain the different classes ADE offers. Since I had some basic shooting experience but had never drawn from a holster, she recommended Combat Handgun 1 as the perfect place for me to start. There were only four of us in the class which was perfect. We had an amazing instructor, Sayaka. She was extremely knowledgeable, funny, patient, and an absolute badass! Her extensive background and experience are seriously impressive. I wasn't sure what to expect going into the course, but by the end of the day, I felt like I had known Sayaka and the other women in my class for years. I felt comfortable, supported, and learned so much. I'm also left-handed, which can sometimes make finding the right gear and setup a little more challenging. They took the time to make sure they found me the right left-handed holster that actually fit my firearm so I could participate fully in the course. I really appreciated that they didn't just expect me to figure it out on my own--they made sure I had what I needed and was comfortable with my setup. Paula was also there training another group, but she still checked on us throughout the day and made sure we had plenty of water and electrolytes. She's definitely the mama bear of the group--making sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and hydrated while we trained in 100-degree weather! It's those little things that really make a difference. As a woman getting into more advanced firearms training, being in an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions, learning new skills, and not feeling intimidated was huge for me. I came into the class with basic experience and left feeling much more confident and excited to keep learning. I'm really glad I found the Girls Gun Club and ADE, and I'm already looking forward to my next class!

From the moment we arrived, we felt that safety was the top priority. The setting was amazing, the location was great, and the entire experience was extremely well organized. Doug and Paula were fantastic instructors. They paid incredible attention to detail and were very patient throughout the entire course. They explained everything clearly, including proper handling, safety procedures, and how to keep everyone around us safe. They took the time to walk us through every step, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable asking for clarification. By the time we left, we felt much more knowledgeable and confident about the fundamentals of safe firearm handling. We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first course. Doug and Paula were professional, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely focused on making sure everyone was safe. Highly recommend them to anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of firearm safety and responsible handling.

This is a well-run shooting club in Santa Clarita. If you're coming from LA, it's actually just…read morebefore you get into Santa Clarita. There are multiple ranges, depending on what you want to shoot, a restaurant with quality food, a small bar (they do not allow you to shoot after drinking, but the reverse is fine), a gun shop with a very good selection and knowledgeable staff, and several events throughout the year. What really makes this place great is the staff at the ranges. If they see someone doing something unsafe, they call it out and put a stop to it immediately, which is what you want at a gun range. But more than that, they're friendly and more than willing to help you with tips on shooting or with any weapon malfunction--very important for new shooters. Guys like Savage and Jimmy really help make the rifle range an enjoyable experience. As far as the different ranges, there is a long row of shotgun clay/skeet shooting at the front when you pull in. That's also where you find the restaurant and some clean bathrooms. There is also a small shop with clothing, accessories, and some very high-end shotguns. This is where you check in for the shotgun range. To head to the archery range, park there and make a left past the main building and up a hill. I haven't been to the archery range yet, so I can't comment on it. For the rifle range, continue to the left past the ramp for the archery range. It's a bit of a walk, especially if you're carrying a bunch of weapons and ammo. It's paved, and I believe they have golf carts available to help transport you if you're disabled or just need the help. There is a small shop where you check in, with accessories, ammo, and targets available for purchase, as well as various rifles available for rent. At the rifle range, you can shoot most calibers of rifle, shotgun, or handgun (but no hollow points), so it's fun for all. You can set up cardboard target stands or use the steel targets spread throughout the range. I'm not sure how far back it goes--probably about 75-100 yards. I've heard a rumor that if you bring in a watermelon or pumpkin, you can shoot it, but I haven't checked the validity of that yet. The only negative about the rifle range is that the only bathrooms there are porta potty's. For the pistol range and gun shop, when you pull into the parking lot, instead head to the right, where there is an additional smaller parking lot. There are some nicer bathrooms out front. Inside is the pro shop/gun shop, where the guys (I think their names are Frankie and Rick) are very helpful. If you want to try any of the handguns before purchasing, they have them for rent as well. There is a paper range and a steel range. I believe that, aside from handguns, you can also shoot small handgun-caliber rifles there. At the paper range you can shoot hollow points (at least that was allowed last time I was there), but not at the steel range. There are about 10-12 stalls on each range. I don't think either range extends past 75 yards. For the paper range, you can purchase targets at the shop or bring your own to put on cardboard stands. One of the guys there is extremely helpful if you need tips or have any questions. I believe his name is Page-hope I got that right. On the steel side, they have a plethora of steel targets set at different distances. The nice thing about the steel range is that you never have to stop and wait while people change out their targets. There are also an additional two speed plate lanes at the end that are first come, first served. Again, the employees do a good job of keeping an eye on everyone and maintaining a safe environment. Don't forget to bring ear and eye protection. But if you need it, they have both available. I don't think they currently charge you to borrow either. They also have memberships available, with massive discounts on the membership a couple of times a year during events. One tip - if it's your first time, make sure you fill out the waivers online before you go. It will save you time when you get there. There is a main waiver everyone signs, plus additional waivers for each range you plan on using (ie shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol, etc.). I highly recommend Oak Tree to anyone looking to try shooting for the first time, anyone looking to purchase a firearm and try it out first, and experienced shooters looking for a good, safe, convenient place to shoot.

Very pleasant range tucked away in the hills by Valencia/Santa Clarita…read more Good service at the desk, you can and should sign waivers in advance via their website for smooth processing. They have a great selection of rentals if you so happen to need it or want to try stuff out, pricing is available on their website. This visit I enjoyed their steel pistol range, they have an option to shoot paper as well on a separate part of the pistol range. The bays are nice and wide, lots of space to comfortably shoot on the steel range. Reasonable pricing and the location is a nice and quiet woodsy forest vibe. There is parking in front of the club/restaurant/shotgun range (Rifle is to the left), as well as if you hit a right, there was a bit of parking in front of the pistol ranges and gun store. This place is a must try for any hobbyist, recreational or professional shooter.

I explained it was our first time at this particular range and they explained everything and showed me the map before taking us all to the private range we had reserved. Make sure you go over the driving directions when you leave, as we had no mobile phone service once we got deep onto the dirt road. Follow the signs and you'll get there eventually. I wouldn't drive there with a lowered vehicle or fancy sports car as there is about 1.5 miles of dirt road you have to drive on that's a bit bumpy. Just drive slowly. I didn't check the selection of rentals they had on offer as I have my own toys, but I have heard it is better than most. We got a private range on a Wednesday and it was incredibly cheap ($100 for 2 people all day, $40 each additional person). They bring out steel targets for you to use and then leave you alone to have fun. You can draw from holsters, rapid fire, do drills, etc. No 1-shot per second nonsense, Their public rifle range has steel targets out to 1000 yards so you can see how good your skills really are. Lots of fun steel targets to shoot. You can finally stretch out your rifle and those high dollar optics. For the first time I wished my 6-24x scope had more magnification. I wish this range were closer but it was only about 1 hour from the Pasadena area which isn't too bad at all for 1000 yard steel. I believe it may be the only range in the los Angeles area that has steel out to 1000, as Angeles Shooting Range is maximum 600. I am definitely going to return to this place again soon!
