Had ammo shipped to them and the shipment arrived in a total of five boxes, three one day and the other two arrived over the next two days. They charged me per box not per shipment(like their web site says). Their website says they would work with customer on price, they didn't with me. Guy in shop was defensive about topic. First I would say I'm not one to write reviews, however I feel this necessary in order to inform the Public of this Places Business Practices and Integrity. I drove from out of town to conduct a PPT to a Person who also drove 2 hours in the opposite direction to meet for the PPT. It was a Glock 19 Gen 4 M.O.S. . Inventory of the Pistol New in Original box was taken and all items were accounted for by myself and the purchaser. Today 10 days later I get a call from the purchaser that the M.O.S plates are missing and if I had taken them by accident or if I remember the clerk who conducted the transfer had placed them in the Box after the weapons check. I stated that all items were with the box and pistol and back straps along with the lock and paperwork. The purchaser remembers that he and I both took inventory and looked over the Pistol and contents prior to Money exchange and signing paperwork. The purchaser tells me that the M.O.S plates are missing and that the Clerk and manager of this Dump are accusing Him (The purchaser) of taking the Plates or Me the seller taking them. I get Pissed hearing this as I go out of my Way to do as I want other to do to me. I ensure the Purchase that I do not have the Plates and Explain that We did inventory prior to cash exchange at which time the Purchaser Acknowledges and agreed Remembering We Did this together. The Purchaser had asked the Manager if the security cameras could be rewound or Gone over for the date in questioned to see that day and time to find out the Truth. The Female Management stated No that they only keep film for 10 days and this day is the 10th. The Purchaser then Notices BEHIND the COUNTER (1) New Set Of GLOCK M.O.S PLATES on the Display rack labeled for only 29.00. He begins to point them Out to the Clerk and Management that those are the Plates because That M.O.S. Set wasn't there on dsplay the day we had did the transfer as Me and Him While waiting had looked around the Small Store while waiting, Management and the Clerk Deny that and say they are stock and for sale. This Shop is SUPER Small with Low inventory and it would be very obvious if M.O.S. plates were In Stock for Sale as we Would have noticed them as it would have Grabbed our interest due to our Transfer. As the Purchaser explains this to me Via phone call I hang up and Call Glock and Ask if I can Purchase M.O.S. plates from them for a M.O.S. Glock I purhased. Glock explains to me that they can direct me to a dealer who will sell me a Plate Specific Not Their Own Plates but can Not Nor do they Distribute Just the Plates as a Set They (GLOCK) will Only replace the ( Full Pistol in Box if Plates are missing ) due to it Being a Incomplete Sale and Glock Goes on about the Pistol M.O.S. is for L.E. only and etc. Glock then explains that a sale of a M.O.S. Plate set Only is not anything they distribute alone or sell alone without a full purchase of a Complete M.O.S. Pistol to Blue Label Dealers and Plates can not be Bought Alone, That Exchanges is How they Deal with Missing BL items. The Purchaser contact me again and understood our situation. The Purchaser bought the Plates for 29.00 which in Reality We in the Gun Community Know that Milled Original Glock M.O.S. Plates would be Upward of 100.00 plus Bucks, Because they Know You Need them. $29.00 for Original 4 Plate M.O.S. Glock Set.... Whatever. *COBRA TACTICAL in Valencia, Ca. My review got deleted some how, so I figured it would only be right to write another one. If I had the opportunity to leave this business 0 stars, I would. I spent over one month arguing with these idiots (that's a nice term) about my order. I placed an order in Mid December, never received it and had to pull teeth in order to get a reply from the owners. When I threatened to contact my bank over fraud, they said that they would give us a refund. They took a 25% restocking fee out which happened to be around $125 dollars. When I contacted them again, they said it was their policy. Therefore, I contacted the BBB and the Office of Consumer Protection and they're in the process of getting my money back for me. I have NEVER dealt with a business that has such poor customer service. If you like having someone be rude to you and having to wait forever for your item, this is the place for you to purchase your items at. Admittedly, the reviews here made me a little reluctant about doing business with CT (Cobra Tactical). Thankfully, I decided to find out for myself. The first time I visited CT was on a Sunday afternoon and I found myself the only person in the shop. Eric, who turned out to be the owner, asked a few questions and quickly surmised I was a 'newbie.' I was upfront and told him I was not planning on making a purchase that afternoon. Nevertheless, he proceeded to spent the next two hours, yes 2 hours, educating me about gun ownership in California, options, weapon configurations, the purchasing process etc. Who spends that much time with a customer?!?! Seriously! In my 37 years I have never experienced this level of customer service. Afterwards I was struck with a sense of cognitive dissonance between the opinions expressed here on Yelp and my personal experience with Eric at CT. Retail Gun Shops are notoriously competitive. Cutthroat competitive. Assuming the negative reviews were not an attempt by competing retail gun shop owners to discredit CT, the only other explanation that makes sense was that CT was undergoing some staffing issues at the time those reviews were written. Months later, when I finally made a handgun purchase, I sincerely felt guilty that I did not give CT my business. The level of care and expertise that Eric exhibited demands support. So, I recently returned to CT to fulfill a promise I made to myself and purchased a scope (more than 2x the cost of the handgun). When I arrived, there were 4 customers and 5 people staffing the store. I was in the store for no less than 20 seconds before I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance. If CT had an issue with finding knowledgeable, friendly (and in one case - attractive) staff, then consider the problem RESOLVED. I purchased my scope and left a happy customer. ADDITIONALLY: Over the past two months I have exhaustively researched the AR platform with the intent of making a purchase in the next few weeks. After trying out several models and custom builds the one that I received the most amount of positive feedback from onlookers at the local range, including a local Gunsmith, was none other than a custom AR a friend of mine had built by Cobra Tactical. When I looked up the parts used in their build, I found out they are all TOP-NOTCH. From the beautifully machined Samson Quad Rail, to the A.R.M.S. buis and the custom CT lower, their weapon system is an unassuming precision instrument. CONCLUSION: CT offers personal knowledge and experience using the high-end gear they sell. They are an FFL with gunsmithing/armorer services at reasonable prices, (haven't come across another local retailer that offers both). Their custom AR's are earning the respect of the community and most importantly, their customer service is second to none. Eric Larson and Cobra Tactical deserve our patronage. Don't believe the negative reviews on here, this place is nice. The shop is a small front for their warehouse, but the staff is friendly straightforward and is happy to give you all the info you need. Right now people are complaining about orders taking too long, but they forget about the climate we have in guns today. That isn't their fault, and they have a small staff to try to hit the demand that is crazy right now. Even after all of that I had all my questions answered, and was able to get my order in. These things take patience though because you can't expect them to cater to your every need when they have hundreds of orders being placed and .22lr ammo goes for 10 dollars a box of 50 rounds. Being a gun owner is difficult now, but patience is a virtue. I see most of the people placing orders did so right after this craziness began, those who reviewed before put 5 stars. I attempted to purchase an Item that showed in stock and was not. I tried getting updates multiple times and received none other then the initial and when I cancelled my order. These crooks operate on the sell items we dont have premise wait for it to come in and then ship it. The more than likely dont have half the items listed in stock. He refused to respond to me emails after cancelling my order about a refund. The only response I got was a facebook message after I filed a fraudulent charge with my bank. Fantastic purchase experience! They had the two Glock models I was interested in and after holding both, determined the G17 was the right one for my grip. Before starting the purchase paperwork I asked my wife to come inside the store to see the semi-automatic pistols, as she's a revolver shooter. The owner, Eric, patiently took time to show her the Glocks and then provided a really great description of tactical stances, use of the semi-automatic, grip, Gl;ock's safety, holstering, etc. It was a fun process to see them debate wheel guns versus semi-automatics and Eric took his time and knowledgeably and patiently answered all of her questions. This is the difference between buying from a business owner and just a store clerk - the owner cares. The DROS application process went quickly (reminder to buyers: always bring a proof of residency like a utility bill plus your current FSC unless exempted). Approval was received and the pick-up was quick - demonstrate safe handling and you're set. Definitely recommend this shop if you are a safe, knowledgeable and responsible firearms owner. Took the G17 to the range three times already and am very pleased with its performance; good sights and no problems. Been a revolver shooter for 50 years and this is my first semi-auto - definitely a lot of fun to shoot. read more

MY INTIAL REVIEW WAS REMOVED/MOVED TO A DIFFERENT CATEGORY WHERE IT CANNOT BE SEEN BY THE PUBLIC on social media and/or Yelp. I noticed several of this business's negative reviews are conveniently moved to a separate category so that they cannot be seen and all negative reviews are hidden. Here is my initial review and experience. Expensive and low quality cerakoting. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a business as a customer. Call other companies for quotes on cerakoting before using Cobra Tactical. I had a name painted on a firearm I purchased. The employee I described the work to quit before the gun was cerakoted. The owner (Eric) painted it himself without contacting me. The name was painted upside down. When I brought this error to his attention, he told me he would not fix his error without me coming out of pocket more money. I was charged $511 for a paint job that had an error. The owner also told me the weapon would have a "line" and look funny if he attempted to fix it. He stated he could not remove the paint and would have to paint over the upside down name. I left the location and was called by Eric five minutes later because he released the firearm to me without having me sign the release of the firearm on the DROS. Suddenly, he offered to "negotiate" with me over fixing his error because if I did not sign the DROS he could lose his FFL. He was willing to screw me over and take my money until he needed something from me. When I told him I wanted to wait on signing any paperwork until I discussed the issue with my husband, he threatened to call law enforcement and ATF on me for not signing the DROS. As a courtesy, I proceeded to sign the DROS days later after I had the firearm in my possession in order to prevent Cobra Tactical from having problems with their business. After all of this and asking for a portion of my money back, the owner would only offer to fix the weapon which he initially stated would not look right if he did. This company is out for money only and does not care about making a customer happy. I now have to pay additional money to have this terrible job stripped and fixed. I failed to mention how terrible the painted stars looked. Do yourself a favor and call around to different companies who show actual photos of their work and give you an accurate quote. It will be cheaper and better quality. Shame on me for not doing my homework. Cobra Tactical charges a high amount for cerakoting and the work is at a beginners level. The owner (Eric) is unprofessional and wants to argue any issue instead of doing the right thing and making it right. I work really hard for my money and I feel completely taken advantage of. Unfortunately, people like this exist and don't lose sleep at night from taking money from a family to do an incorrect job and refuse to fix it or refund me until they need something from me. Please don't allow this to happen to you. Get other options on cerakoting. Not understanding all the hate for these guys. Everyone's getting so butt-blasted because a weapons vendor isn't as fast as Amazon. Whatever. I've been between Scorpion Arms and Cobra Tactical for all my AR building needs. One being near where I work and the other being near where I live. Cobra has been nothing but helpful, even going as far as to do a quick rundown of the Lower Parts Kit to make sure nothing was missing. Not to mention the fact that they actually HAVE inventory! Why doesn't anyone carry MOEs in FDE? On a separate occasion, I had gotten pricing over the phone for an item that was $59.99, when I got there, turns out the item was actually in the vein of $79.99. Wasn't a problem, they honored the over the phone price. Also spoke to Kim on the phone recently, she sounded new but was doing a great job regardless and offered to hold the item I was asking for. Overall a great store, will be using these guys for as long as fun stores still exist in SoCal. read more

I go in and Eric's wife, Kim, starts the coffee maker - one sugar, black - and I've bought guns, parts and always had first rate gunsmithing for reasonable prices. I see accounts of bad experiences, here, and I wonder if we're talking about the same place. I can't believe anyone was unduly rude; it's not in their nature. It's a gun store in CA. How many can you find? Given the legal pressures, the fact that they're still in business for this long is a testimony to their professionalism. What they don't stock they'll gladly order. What they don't know they'll find out for you. If someone other than Eric or his wife treated you poorly, take the time to let them know. They treat their clientele with respect, so extend them the same courtesy and let them know if you were less than satisfied. They'd want to know. It's a first class establishment. read more

But I felt the need to really set the record straight from my personal experience with Cobra Tactical. First off they do amazing custom work and a more than reasonable rate. Secondly they are perfectionist. Some people don't like to wait and prefer expediency over quality - I am patient and prefer the job getting done right the first time. Apparently, my review had been deleted like many of the other negative reviews so I'll try and warn you again to stay clear. In short, some of the worst customer service EVER! I purchased their name brand AR and it happened to have a defective trigger. There were about 25 rifles that had this issue (according to Eric) and they were trying to find operable triggers to replace the bad ones with. It took a total of 4-1/2 months to finally get the trigger replaced and working correctly. During that time, the communication was horrible as I had to constantly follow up with them. I left messages because the phone was always busy and you could never get through and when I finally did and talked to Anthony, who told me that he would have Eric give me a call back with updates on the new triggers. Well, you know where this is going...I heard nothing with the exception that Eric did call me back once to tell me he still was looking for triggers. I've ALWAYSs tried to patronize local/small businesses (especially a gun store) because I LOVE to see the little guy make it, I honestly do. I'll go out of my way to spend my hard earned dollars at a business like CT. There are also veterans who work here so even better!! I live about 3 hrs (one way) from this gun shop but I made the trek twice because I believed in the product. I even gave them a chance to fix the problem twice but the second trigger was defective too. Finally, I had to mail the lower to have them correct it and that's why it took so long. During the shipping process, I was getting different stories on the status of my AR. If it had the new trigger in, where it is, when will I have back, etc. You have to remember that it had been 4-1/2 months and I had only taken it out twice (1 time for each bad trigger) and only put about 100 rounds through it. This was a very disappointing and frustrating transaction. I received different stories when I would get through on the phone and when they finally told me that it had shipped back to me, they told me it shipped out the week prior. I looked up the tracking number and it had shipped out that day. They straight up lied to me. I hate liars!! And yes, hate is a strong word. I will say this, I did receive some great customer service the day I purchased my AR and when I wrote out the check. Figures... Don't bother with this gun store. Move on to another one. There are plenty of gun shops that deserve your dollar and Cobra Tactical is NOT one of them. If you do decide to purchase from them, hold on because if there is any problems, you'll be in the dark about your firearm, accessories or gear and good luck! read more
