This was a testing and evaluation on a Pistol 2(a) course. I am shooting while moving hitting a steel target 2 times.
    Jonathan C.

After posting my last Yelp review on TAC-1, I have taken 5 more TAC-1 classes ranging from Carbine-2 and different tier level pistol courses that also include concealed pistol, tactical low light, ballistic shield training, close quarter technique, and shooting while moving. One thing that I was surprised about was that the Carbine-2 class that I took this year was completely different from the Carbine-2 class I took last year. Both classes had the same lecture but the drills were different and are now timed with a shot timer clock. This made it more challenging and more fun. I have taken the same classes from other firearm training outfits and its basically the same thing and I got bored of it. The TAC-1 testing and evaluation are now done individually rather than a whole class doing it together with the exception of Pistol-1(A). TAC-1 has very reasonable prices for their 1-day firearms training courses and is taught by a LAPD Firearms Instructor. So don't spend money on worthless gun modifications. Use that money to take TAC-1 classes and become a better shooter! See you at the range.

    Shoji shooting on the move.

It was his first time training and he called the experience "electric" and can't wait to come back. It was so good to continue to learn and hone our foundational skills. Paula and Sayaka are both amazing instructors. We were so fortunate to train with both of them together. Paula's precision, patience and expertise instills humility, confidence and appreciation for how to properly safely manage and engage with your firearm. She is a world-class teacher and we felt like we were being grounded with the best possible instruction. Sayaka's enthusiasm, patience, and excitement in teaching the principles were so beneficial. She brought a sense of joy, confidence, and accessibility to her teaching. Each time Sayaka provided personal instruction I was able to apply seamlessly. She always emphasized safety and situational awareness and made the learning process simple to digest and easy to use in real time. She is a terrific instructor for anyone who is looking to learn and improve their firearm skills. We all felt like we had truly taken huge strides in our skills from the beginning to the end of the day. I cannot recommend highly enough the courses and instructors at American Defense Enterprises Thank you again! We look forward to coming back soon.

I later spoke with Paula who was friendly and helpful, she told me she was gathering enough people for a small beginners class for women, I asked if I could bring some friends and she said yes. We signed up and she provided all the information via email. I nor my friends had ever shot guns before so we were a little nervous. We got to the range and met Sayaka, who was badass! She assisted us to get geared up and shared about her expertise. There was about 6 people in our class, so it made it very intimate and they were able to assist us individually if needed! Paula and Sayaka went over various topics of safety. Already it made me feel at ease. Paula is so knowledgeable and quite hilarious she had be cracking up the entire class. Paula and Sayaka made a great team and they explained everything thoroughly. Such cool ladies! I was so inspired by them! We went over the movement of pulling the gun out from the holster over and over and over. But we didn't use the gun just learned the movements so we can get comfortable. Then we moved on to actually holding the gun. It was really helpful, because once we began shooting the adrenaline spiked! I got a lil scared and so did my friend but Paula and Sayaka were extremely patient and helpful. They showed us how to shot, where to shot, and how to reload. They gave me so much confidence that I could be badass like them! I will definitely be back and taking the next course. The three hours flew by! It was a lot of fun! We didn't know we were gonna get to shot in the shoothouse so that was a surprise and such a great time! Paula got some cool pics of us. 10/10 experience and I def recommend to women who have never shot before. It's definitely a necessity to protect ourselves and our loved ones!

Every class we become more confident in our abilities. Learning gun safety and basics, and then proceeding through target practice, the 9mm beginner and a second 9 mm class and next the intermediate class is empowering. CALLING ALL LADIES!…read more I have been wanting to get Firearm Certified for a while and have been wanting to train, but most gun stores & instructors are male centered and male catered. It can be intimidating to do things that are of a dangerous nature while training with men. I found that out while training to ride motorcycles. Often times (especially lately) people want to avoid the idea that men & women have different needs & ways in which they learn, but for me personally i cannot ignore this fact, & I really didn't want a "tough guy" approach to my Firearm journey as an abuse survivor. Not that there's anything wrong with the fellas, but for my comfort, I really wanted a ladies' approach to the world of self-defense shooting and after a long search... I found the absolute QUEEN of the shooting range! Peggy Grangetto has changed my life with her Ladies Only gun training. She is a firearms EXPERT with many certifications and is extraordinarily knowledgeable and gentle with her teaching style. In the beginners course, you will learn all the basics in a safe, ego neutral environment where you can be comfortable. Half classroom, half gun range. I took her Ladies Only Beginner course and was able to take the test to get certified to purchase & own a Firearm, as well as spend a few hours shooting a .22 caliber pistol (let her know in advance if you want to take the certification test). Her classes are held at the Beautiful Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall. Check out their Yelp as well if you're already experienced or are looking for a range in the SCV! Yesterday was my follow-up class, which was the Intermediate Ladies only Pistol course. This was an all gun range day with a 9MM pistol, myself, another student & Peggy. I'm learning BODY TRUST and focus, which is soooooo important to being effective in stopping an attack from an assailant while using a gun. If you are a woman seeking to train with firearms, and an want the feminine ego neutral approach, then you need Peggy. You will NOT regret the decision to take your power back. I'm so happy and empowered you guys. Beyond 5 stars! *Please note, Peggy doesn't ONLY teach women. All genders are welcome to her training, however the ladies only classes are SPECIFICALLY for women.

This…read morecourse filled a critical gap in my firearms proficiency - bridging the space between pure marksmanship and real-world application. The class provided structure, guidelines, and valuable considerations on when to use lethal force, how to apply it effectively, and how to do so while minimizing collateral risks and maximizing the chances of prevailing in court (especially important here in California). Most importantly, it emphasized how to carry yourself in a way that reduces the likelihood of ever needing to deploy lethal force in the first place. For context, I have a competitive shooting background and am confident in my ability to put accurate rounds on target quickly - both in a square-range and more dynamic settings. My weakness? Applying that skill in real-world situations. Marksmanship is just one side of the coin. Tactics - the knowledge of how and when to employ that marksmanship - is the other. This class helped tie those two sides together, showing how to maximize survivability during an incident and in the post-incident aftermath involving law enforcement, prosecutors, jurors, and the inevitable Monday-morning quarterbacks. Looking forward to ITTS creating Tactical Concepts 2 and 3... Highly recommend for anyone who wants to take their skills beyond just hitting the target.
