My friend got some very luxurious Devon cream recently and decided to pickup some scones at Cobs Bread. Mind you- I've rarely had a good scone (even when I was in the UK), I absolutely had no scone fairy god mother near me. The other random time I had a great scone was when I was at a senior centre visiting- they had great scones. Back to how we stumbled on these fluffy, delicate, flavourful, melty... scones. We tried: Cranberry Scone, Gingerbread Scone, Fruit Scone, Lemon Blueberry, Cinnamon Scone, Triple Chocolate Scone, Apple Pie Scone. My favourites were: Cinnamon Scone (this was like the Starbucks coffee cake but with less butter), Cranberry Scone and the Lemon Blueberry were out of this world. We didn't even use much Devon cream as it was already excellent. Other notable from Cobs over the years: Lowed Loaf- Oats, Flaxseeds, Poppy Seeds Cape Seed Loaf- seeds galore! We stayed in the Lonsdale Quay hotel and the smell of cinnamon buns was calling us bright and early! Cobs bread in on the 1st floor and opens at 9. They have a beautiful assortment of pastries and yummies , we tried the peach scone and of course one of the frosted buns. The star of the show was the scone, it was full of fresh peaches and frosted lightly. It was fresh and light, I could've eaten so many of them. The frosted bun was eh, very lackluster we thought. If we ever come back I'll try it again. read more

Tucked away inside the Lonsdale Quay market, this gem has a great selection of baked pastries. Another yelper mentioned that it is difficult not to order everything and I will have to agree with that statement. Everything looked wonderful. Their display was wonderful and the aroma was intoxicating. Since we were visiting from Seattle and we were on our way back, we decided to get a few pastries and some bread to take home. Service was wonderful and kind as the girl in front offered to cut up our bread and packing our pastries. We brought them home and ate them after using our toaster oven to heat them up a little. They were very delicious and when we stay in North Vancouver, this will surely be one of our stops. Looking forward to our next Vancouver trip! read more

I've used to grab a random single sized pizza bread from other Cobs Bread in the past, but I recently started to come to this place for some random munchies. I'm glad I did. The few employees I've talked to were nice and polite. The prices were fair, not the greatest the but from the ones I've tasted, I'd say its still worth the cost. I could be completely missing something here, but I wish they'd have different kinds of pizza bread available and not just some random ones here and there with very limited options. Not saying they should compete with pizza companies but I wish every single one of these cobs bread had a few more selections for those pizza lovers. Either way though, the one I usually get is either just the regular small cheese bun or the cheese and ham bun. Gotten it a few times for the past week and it's been tasty so far. Would recommend anyone who is in the neighborhood that wants to either get a quick snack or a loaf of bread to come here as the breads I've tasted so far to be pretty tasty and the employees had been pretty polite and nice. ^_^ read more

Try before you buy. They bait you in with free samples. Then, the trap springs, and you're caught. Another victim of COBS Bread. I don't even know where to start when it comes to recommendations. Their strudels and dessert pastries are amazing. In particular, I love their Jalapeno Loaf. The only demerits I can give are for their Cinnamon Buns; they're not bad, but many places do them so much better. Prices are reasonable, service come with a smile and quality is assured. read more

We didn't even buy anything! We stopped because the product is simply beautiful --far better looking than any other Cobs we've seen... and my partner said, 'the scones don't even look dry'... and the baker overheard her, nearly ran out of the kitchen and said, 'I'll prove it' and bagged 2 different flavours and handed them to us as samples. Later, when we saw her again eating her lunch, she thanked us for stopping by and looking! We had the scones for tea, and my goodness!!! The blueberry lemon was bright, full of blueberry flavour and just enough lemon to add zing without being cloyingly sweet --moist and delicious! The raspberry (or possibly strawberry?) passionfruit was epic! Soft, moist, bursting with flavour... We will definitely be shopping at THIS bakery, even though it means driving to North Van from PoCo! read more

Tried out their cinnamon bun after being on a hunt in vancouver for the best one and for a chain type bakery, the one at cobs is quite good! The bun itself is more bread than pastry but it is not cloyingly sweet while maintaining a cinnamon filled and cream cheese topped morsel of delicious! Doesn't taste too heavy but still delicious! A good balance. Very kind and polite service at this location as well! read more

When we go on vacation, all bets are off when it comes to our diet. Plus my children are unbelievably picky and won't eat anything in sandwich, omelet or eggs benedict form. But, my children all love cinnamon buns and on this particular morning we decided to treat them to a breakfast snack at Cobs Bread. We ordered cinnamon buns and it was as though my children hadn't eaten in days as they ravenously tore their way through the pastries. Remember 'The Gremlins' movie where the bad mogwai ate their way through snacks? Exact reenactment but much more ugly and zero civility. My kids know what they like and they all loved those cinnamon buns. I got the sad scraps but I give them the Mom ate my leftovers seal of approval! read more

A German friend raves about Cobs Bread. I tell him the bread I have been getting a Save-On is fine and I can't see any reason for a special trip. Then we move almost next door to Cobs Bread. Now I can't see any reason to go anywhere else but Cobs. The staff are friendly and helpful. Love those sesame seeds on the crusts. I now look forward to eating my crusts. They have all the basic breads we need with a few temping goodies to boot. read more

Cobs is not your fancy gourmet bakery, but does the job if you looking for a fresh loaf of bread or buns. They also have plenty of other treats on display strudels, croissants, danishes, tarts, cinnamon buns in the sweet section, garlic bread, cheese bread and a lot more in the other. I loved their spinach and some cheese, I forgot the name, bread, and it was awesome. read more
