Breakfast tacos are one of the many (and extremely delicious) staple foods in Texas. Along with Texas BBQ and Whataburger (better yet, Chick-Fil-A in my opinion), breakfast tacos are a must have for anyone visiting the good ole Lone Star State. So when it comes to Cocina de Colima, what's better than breakfast tacos? ONE DOLLAR breakfast tacos on the weekdays. That's right, each taco is $1. With inflation, it's hard to find that nowadays. And folks, these are full sized tacos too, not the wimpy street tacos that are the size of a child's palm. There are a plethora of breakfast tacos to choose from, all with egg (or without, whatever you want): sausage, chorizo, bacon, ham, and potato. Each taco comes with a red or green sauce, you pick, and the sauce adds nothing but greatness to your taco of choice. I've only tried the ham and potato and they are both equally delicious. The flour tortilla tastes homemade and is fluffy. The taco filling is plentiful, especially for the price. Realistically, the taste of the tacos aren't OMG amazing (like a Torchy's or Fusion Taco) but it's a real deal for the price you pay. It's easy to recommend this place for your weekday breakfast taco trip as your taste buds and wallet will thank you. read more

So glad I chose this place for lunch/brunch! I got the chilaquiles con plátano and it hit the spot! And the beans are so flavorful! The prices and portions are just right. And the horchata is perfect. The place has a hole-in-the-wall vibe and so the sit down area isn't anything to talk about but the food makes up for the whole experience. Kinda wish some of the yelpers on here could rate based on tastiness lol. 5/5 would def and will come again soon read more

One with chicharrones (pork rinds), one with pastor and both with onions & cilantro. 2 gorditas de res (beef fajita).The corn tortillas are homemade so you know this is a real joint. Food was hot!!! Even the salsa is warm! The refried beans and rice was ok but who cares about the fillers, let's worry about the real food. They do have agua frescas, soda by the can and bottled beer. read more

Ordered delivery from them several times. Usually good but tonight is a nightmare. Ran out of what we ordered, they didn't call to advise and as a result they gave us something else without asking. They didn't include chips as they normally do and came up with alibi instead of acknowledging the mistake. The food tonight is very soggy. Even the ingredients used for tortilla was not right. See the corn tortilla falling apart in the pictures. Not sure if spending money in this place is worth it anymore. No refund or compensation was offered. read more

We came across this place and absolutely love it!! Ask for Marcos!!!! He is are go to guy! We love that they deliver and the food is amazing. Always try to get a little of everything and it will never let you down. We always order queso with taco meat, japs , queso flameado , enchiladas with verde, and fajitas for 2 with beef, chk, shrimp! I have only been here once, but this place gets points for two things, one is the hand made corn tortillas. Most restaurants will give you tacos on tortillas that are packaged, here they are hand made, daily, nice and warm, have them once and you will tell the difference. The second item is a drink called Tejuino. This is a drink made from corn dough, yes the same one that is used to make those fresh tortillas. This drink is traditionally from the Mexican states of Jalisco and Colima, I've had the real thing in Jalisco and this one comes pretty close. It is a great refreshing drink for a hot summer day, but if you are counting calories or watching carbs this may not be for you, I say these carbs are delicious. read more

Try the green chilaquiles, with fajita and beans. Really good authentic chilaquiles, not crispy like arandas. This is actually spicy and TEJUINO, authentic Guadalajara drink that takes days to make. They have it here. I come here every other day for lunch. Muy delicioso! read more

A whole in the wall place. I've only ever gotten their breakfast tacos and you can tell their corn tortillas are homemade and they're a real good size for a dollar! The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the actual location. Their is always homeless people in the areas and the location smells weird but the staff is friendly and tacos are great. They have a super hot red sauce but you have to ask for it. Love it! read more

First look: small and a bit worn. There's more than meets the eye here. It's colorful and small inside. So don't expect to find a lot of seats on a busy day. I wanted to love this place- it's so close to my house and they have free delivery if you spend more than $12. It was decent- nothing wowed me. I had enchiladas and the person I ate with had their tacos. I feel like you can judge a Mexican restaurant by their rice & beans and their was nothing special about them here. Went here once to check it out and it is my favorite breakfast spot. I now go often and I even take food sometimes to have others taste it. The breakfast tacos are DELICIOUS. The beans are super tasty and I enjoy them in my potato and egg flour tortilla tacos. Gorditas are also great! Salsa is great! Food needs salt most of the time but that is a good thing in mine and my mother's case as we do not like a lot of salt. This place is great. I love it. read more

My boyfriend had their fajita tacos and really liked them as well. They've got real AUTHENTIC mexican plates on their menu which is hard to find in Houston. I had no problems with this place. To me the food was good, service was good, until one day I decide to order for a delivery to my home. I ordered my food and asked for a Tejuino which is a drink they have. The delivery guy gets to my house about 30 minutes later and hands me my food. Then he says "I know you ordered a Tejuino but they gave me a Coke instead so here you go" I said no I want the Tejuino I ordered Please. He makes a disturbing face and turns around and leaves. about 5 min. later hes back at my door with a 2litre Sprite!!??? WTH?? He says they are all out of Tejuino and to take the sprite and that they will no longer deliver to me because I live too far from their 2mile limit.. OKAY???? Horrible! Im not sure what happened with them that day but I sure hope they never repeat that one with anyone else. read more
