I found this place while passing through 29 Palms and decided to make a quick stop to get some…read morefood. I ordered some tacos and was totally disappointed with the amount of meat they put in them and the amount I paid. Tacos are $3 a piece, so I expected a decent or normal amount of meat per taco, but instead I got a kid's portion. I ate more tortilla than meat, just to put it into perspective. With total honesty, these tacos are worth $1.50 at most. The food taste was very mediocre, not even average. It lacked a lot of flavor. The agua fresca was really good, though. I hate it when palces charge a lot for food, but they're very stingy with the portions.

I tried a mix of things: 3 mulitas (cheese and birria), plus some pastor and asada tacos. Overall,…read morethe food was decent, but a few things held it back from being "really good." The mulitas had solid flavor, especially the birria, but they definitely needed more cilantro and onion to balance everything out. One thing that bothered me was how the tortillas were cut -- it made it hard to actually add salsa and have it stay inside, which kind of took away from the experience. As for the pastor and asada tacos, they were just "okay." Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. They had a red spicy salsa and a green mild salsa and that was it as far as options that you can add in your own. There were no cabbage, radish, and other important ingredients that make a taco reach another level. I did like the decorations and music they had playing. It goes well with a mexican restaurant. The service was excellent. The guy that helped me explained the menu very well and said that he could tweak a few things to accommodate what I was asking for. He also did well checking in on us. So yeah, it lands in that middle zone -- "It's okay" with some potential to be "good." If they tweak a few things (especially toppings and tortilla setup), this place could easily move up a full star for me.

They also have alcoholic beverages that were really good (I stuck to the basic Margarita) The service was amazing and the ambience is great however, if you go there be prepared to sit in some places that have sun! When you sit you already have small plates and things at the table which makes sense for indoors but with the desert setting there was sand everywhere. The tables were also covered in sand which obviously isn't their fault but you would think it would be wiped and set before seating. The fresh drinks were imo the best part by far. They were so delicious and like I said very fresh. The kale salad was alright not really much flavor and weirdly soggy. The beet salad was incredible but definitely NOT enough to share considering everything is served family style (and especially with the price). Burger was alright, my sister had this and said "nothing stood out". Again not enough to be considered "family style". With everything being $30-$40 with recommended 4-5 plates per table with family style I would assume they would actually be shareable sizes. Service was good. Our waitress was amazing and so knowledgeable about the menu. The only thing is there was an older woman as hostess who was kind of just there? She said hi and got to the point but no one said bye or have a good night when we were leaving other than our waitress.
