Drove thru Joshua Tree then on to Twenty Nine Palms

We were looking for authentic Mexican. Our server was fabulous and we sat outside. We shared the enchiladas and each had a taco. The value and flavor were excellent! Although the food could have been hotter, temperature wise. They are still working on their liquor license but still worth a stop.

5 stars for service and pico! I've been wanting to stop in here to try their vegan options since I camp at Indian Cove often, and good vegan food is limited in the area. I really appreciate that they offer both vegan and vegetarian menus. I ordered two vegan tacos--large, fresh, and filling. The only thing missing for me was flavor. A signature vegan sauce or seasoning would really take the dishes up a notch. I ended up grabbing some pico de gallo to go, and wow--it was outstanding! I wish I had ordered two containers. Service was super friendly and attentive, which made the visit even better. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

This family is so sweet they cook as if they are cooking for their own family. It's always the mom (Lorena) and the dad cooking in the kitchen. She has such high standards for food, I'm from Jalisco and this has a really good seasoning!! Wet burrito is amazing! The place is great to host small and large tables. Tacos de asada, and there are vegan and vegetarian options available. Whether you're a local or you're tourist swinging by I really recommend this place . Support small!! Great pricing on beers and good strong margaritas

Solid food with good service. I ordered a Cabeza wet burrito, no rice. The cabeza had a bit of a crunch making me think it was reheated on a frying pan or griddle. Still tasted good. Big serving side.

    $7 free chips and salsa!

Service was great! Food was mediocre. Expensive and charged $7 for free chips and salsa while dining in. I suggest you at least give out free chips and salsa. Lunch was $40 for a burrito and tacos. Food was not that good. Also salsa makes everything better the their salsa lacked flavor even when we asked for a spicier version.

Lorena's formerly known as Taqueria 29 has gone above and beyond my expectations. From humble beginnings in The Plaza off Adobe and Two Mile I genuinely missed them since they departed last year. Thankfully I didn't have to miss the best Mexican food 29 Palms had to offer for long. The cashier is such a down to earth guy capable of making anyone feel welcome as if you were family, and a key note is he makes sure to treat the customer like family and not a consumer. The little hole in the wall off of the 29 Palms highway hits harder than most established franchises that are out here. Sporting a plethora of dishes to suit your every need from breakfast to dinner, whether you're a vegetarian or a carnivore they have it all! I could easily say Lorena's is THE spot for the best Mexican food 29 Palms has to offer.

This authentic Mexican family owned restaurant is a local gem in the area. A standout on the menu is the most delicious birria tacos--a local must-try! They are fresh, meaty, and bursting with flavor, an absolute treat for the senses. This is my second time back here since they re-opened, and I can't wait to return for more. Whether you're a local or just passing through, their warm and welcoming service makes you feel right at home.

Great food and service! You can smell the delicious food from the parking lot and the family owned restaurant is very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. I have tried a few items on their menu already but my personal favorite is the carne asada wet burrito. No matter what you choose you can't go wrong. 10/10 will definitely keep coming back for more.

The birria tacos are on point!!

This place has some seriously good food!!The carne asada is so tender and you can taste that it is grilled and seasoned to perfection! This is the best Mexican food North of Jalisco. Junior at the counter is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. Hands down the best Mexican food in 29 and better than 99% of the ones I eat at in LA.

The food was good. The staff was above and beyond amazing but the place is very dirty. The bathroom and the restaurant floors are dirty.

First time here, I ordered tacos to go and was shorted on my order. I tried calling multiple times to complain but never got an answer.

I ordered the three rolled tacos with rice and beans. Love the fresh guacamole, lettuce, tomato's & cotija cheese on top! The menu includes the following: tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, enchiladas, tostadas, nachos, asada fries, combo plates, family pack (includes one pound meat, rice, beans, onion, cilantro, red or green salsa, flour or corn tortillas and liter of soda), catering (five or ten pounds of meat), breakfast plates and burritos. Meats to choose from: asada, pollo, alpastor, carnitas, deshebrada, lengua, tripa and buche. Nice, friendly, employees, great food, plenty of parking out front and in the back. Note; inside is a small seating area, however you can get it to go. Wish they were closer so I could visit more often!

Tacos were $3 each and 2 were a light meal.  If I was very hungry I'd want 3.  Carne asada was tender and I liked the flavor which had a hint of sweetness along with the beef flavor.  Flour tortillas were soft and I liked the mild flour flavor. Server was nice and efficient.

You order at the counter and they bring you your food, (so make sure you add a tip when paying.) I heard the quesabirria tacos were good, so I got one of those, a surf and turf taco (ribeye and shrimp), and a side of rice of beans and asked to have it all on one plate. The food took 31 minutes to come out. That's the main reason for the 2 stars. The food was actually really good! Great beans. Rice was decent. Surf and turf taco was very flavorful, but it had some kind of weird seasoning on it that I couldn't put my finger on (not bad, just strange). The quesabirria taco didn't come with consomme, She brought some out when I asked for it, but it was mostly fat and I couldn't eat it. The taco was still good. Overall, ambiance was nice, quiet (one tv), food was good, the woman who took the order also seems to do everything else in the place (I know there were at least two other people there in the back). Tables needed to be wiped. Maybe it was a one-off.

Chicken in the tostada was juicy, tender and flavorful. Shells were not greasy for tostada or taquitos. Service was great although small shop so when a big group came in we ended up with an iced tea refill instead of a Diet Coke refill. Not fancy but pretty swell food. We were still full at dinner time! I'd go back.
