FINALLY A WELL PRICED DELICIOUS BURRITO IN TOWN!!!! I've tried a lot burritos in the area and something is always lacking; but Cocina La Doce got it down to a tee. It's quite small, but feels cozy, welcoming, and authentic. The service was great and I LOVE that I didn't have to ask for the extras, like the salsas, cebollitas, etc. A small act that goes a long way. The cebollitas and jalapeños added on top added flavor to my burrito. It was thoughtful of them to add it on top because it didn't melt the to go plate considering our food was cooked fresh. I'd be lying if I didn't say that was one of my concern; but I was so stoked to know my food stayed warm and tasted so delicious when I made it home. Don't get me started on the salsas! The sazón and variety of spice level is everything for me; so I loved that I had options. From the mildest to the spiciest level salsa, I can say they were all made with some love. My favorite was the most spicy, it was so spicy, but I couldn't stop eating it! Heheh Loved the agua fresca options & that you can also get micheladas there. I was hungry after a day of shopping at the outlets so I looked for something to eat on my way home and this popped up. I'm glad it did because it's a small location so I definitely would have passed it by. My in-laws just recently moved out to Banning about a year ago. There is not much to do out here nor a large variety of food. We found this place driving by and thought to try it out. There are not much seating so we did have to wait a while until there was a clean table available. I ordered the costillitas con nopales and it was so good. Upon ordering it, the server told me that it was really spicy and I may not be able to handle it. I am sure there may be some people out there that can't take their spice, but I LOVE my spicy food! So to me, this wasn't as spicy as she said it was going to be. The dish was very good, although I've never had it before I would definitely order it again. Stopped by here on a drive back from camping. We wanted real Mexican food. This place hit the spot. The jamaica was not overly sweet like some places tend to go overboard. Found this place on yelp. Was looking for some Mexican food and decided to try it out. Got seated and immediately got some fresh chips and salsa. Chips on point. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito, wet with green sauce. We were coming off a big hike and were very hungry and had actually Yelp'd to another close by location, but it was more fast-foody than we were hoping for, so we quickly Yelp'd again and found this spot not even 1/4 mile away. Very pleasant staff from the our entry and thru the entire visit. In most Mexican spots, you'll get the chips and salsa asap and this is pretty telling of the food it's preceding, but not so much here. The chips and salsa were basic at best; nothing memorable and we didn't even finish them, which for me is odd because I can plow 2-3 baskets. However, the entrees we ordered were very tasty. They do takeout and dine-in and when I got my burrito it was wrapped in foil like it was to go, so the presentation for dine-in was very lackluster, but at least the flavor delivered. My friends plate had a much better visual presentation. Restrooms are outside and while the parking lot is big, the parking spaces are angled, which would make you think you went out the other side, but there is no other side, and you go out the same way you entered. read more

I was looking the red carne con chile (pork beans and rice) and she said "if you like it spicy, we can only make the red one spicy" I said "yes spicy please). It was perfect spicy and hot. This place was one of our favorite but since they have that new waiters not for over a year we stopped coming here. Today we decided to give them another try because to be honest the food is really. I called in an order and the waitress was super rude still we placed the order. So she said 10 minutes ok, we go pick it up and she tells me that the restaurant is closed didn't say sorry nothing. It looked to be very tasty for lunch on a cold, blustery day. Unfortunately, I think the kitchen did not taste the broth before it was served. It was about three times as salty as it should have been. A rookie mistake on the part of the kitchen. I had to squeeze three lime quarters into the broth and add a ton of my water to make it palatable. Although the three chunks of beef looked like a good presentation, the meat was a little stringy, and I should have asked for a knife and fork to cut them up to eat them appropriately. In other words, the beef was not fall apart, tender. The small portion of corn on the cob looked great, but do you really want to fish it out with your fingers and eat it off the cob? I randomly stopped here on a road trip because I was craving a burrito. It's tiny inside, which is why they have a makeshift outdoor seating area with plastic chairs and a canopy tent. I think they can't fit more than 20 people inside max. But I was just here for the burrito to take back on the road. The staff was very friendly and my burrito came out less than 5 minutes. It was massive and not that expensive considering a burrito like that in Los Angeles would be $22. Here, it was $14. The tortilla was the best part of the burrito. It smelled, felt, and tasted fresh and possibly made from scratch. The rest of the ingredients were average. The only part that I didn't enjoy were the huge pieces of raw onions that unfortunately overpowered the burrito every time I bit into one. Sometimes, yelp reviews are way off base. Other times, a restaurant has a bad evening. Unfortunately, our experience was not clear on which was the case here. When we entered, there was one table in place. A Spanish speaking family. The server asked if there were two of us and we replied that we wanted to order to go. She handed us two menus and we sat at a booth to peruse it. Once we were ready to order, the server asked us to the register to place our order. Afterwards, we went back to the booth and sat down again. In a service industry business that only has one table seated, it would be been good customer service to take our order where we sat. I guess punching it directly into the computer was easier than writing it down and then entering it. While we were waiting, the Spanish speaking family received their food. The apparent matriarch of the table told the server in Spanish that what she received was not what she asked for. The server relayed this to the kitchen. Someone in the kitchen must have responded inappropriately in Spanish to the server and the matriarch heard it and voiced her displeasure at whatever was said. We ordered a Al Pastor Wet Burrito with a Chile Rellano on the side as well as a combination plate of Chicken Enchilada with Chile Relleno. When we got back to our hotel and began eating, it turns out that our Chicken Enchilada had magically changed into a Beef Enchilada. Our food had been served to us in Styrofoam Clam Shells. I noticed that the Clam Shells were somewhat deformed as if they had been put into a microwave or was the sauce that hot? And no Chips or Salsa offered or given? Sorry, no repeat here. read more
