This spot is a must eat in Banning, California. It's a small place but it's always packed. The food is delicious. They take a little bit of time getting your order and getting you your food, but it comes out hot and delicious and I haven't had a dish here that I haven't liked. I had red enchiladas and the red sauce isn't so tomato heavy.... it's some kind of creamy sauce with the cheese melting inside...It is just absolutely delicious. the chips and salsa. Fantastic. You can add beans and guacamole if you want. they have these huge margaritas which we didn't partake this time but they are very, very tasty and I would recommend. all in all. It's a place. I know I've written several times how good Casa cruz was. I've certainly changed my mind after this last meal. They put up a sign that says look at your food before you take it cause they're not replacing anything. I looked at my food. It didn't look very appetizing, but it appeared to be what I had ordered except for they forgot the salsa they now gave a handful of chips and a little bit of some kind of sauce. Not the typical salsa was nasty. I didn't cut up each thing that I'd order to see what was in it. I'd ordered something with ground beef because I don't like the chunky beef and I hate chicken. Of course I had the chunky beef when I got home so I did not eat it. The taco had maybe a teaspoon of meat in it and some old lettuce on it very un appetizing I can say I won't go back to Casa Cruz again. read more

I love this place so much. Anytime I climb in Joshua Tree, Black, Tram area we will stop here to have dinner no matter what. I may climb in those areas specifically to come here for dinner but who knows. The molcajete is absolute fire and their salsa is still my favorite. It enough food for 2 meals for my man and I. The large margaritas are literally the size of my head (and I have a big ass head) and one gets me loopy. I've been coming here for years and have no plans to stop. Overall good vibes here, We decided to go here to celebrate my brother in law's promotion. It was a Friday night so they were busy. It took about 30 min for us to get seated for a party of 10 (3 kids) which is not too bad. Waitress was fast and friendly. Checked on us pretty regularly to ensure we were doing ok. The food over all was great, all of the adults meals were delicious. Only thing I heard that wasn't great was the kids bean and cheese burritos. It was pretty good but what stood out to me the most was their salsa: spicy but with a good, fresh flavor; it didn't taste like canned tomatoes were used like some other places I've tried. In my opinion the best Mexican food in the area. I love everything I have ever had. The shrimp here is excellent and the enchiladas are so good. We have friends who live in Palm Desert and the desert area has many Mexican restaurants but they come here and say it is the best. It is always nice and clean and the servers are always polite. We have been going to this restaurant for 8 years and have never had a bad meal. Love the food, especially the chili relleno's and tacos! We always get great service. The only negative about this restaurant is the appearance. The exterior is painted in terrible colors, the interior has no appeal, some of the booth chairs are duct taped. The bathrooms are old and disgusting. We want to bring company here to experience the great food, but the overall appearance of the restaurant is embarrassing so we don't take them.
