This is a great spot for takeout British-style fish and chips. It actually reminded me of my time in Wellington, especially the way they wrap everything in paper to keep it warm--simple but effective. We ordered the 2-piece cod, which was more than enough for two people. The fries were crispy and well done, making for a really satisfying meal.

Was craving fish and chips so we walked over here from Kitsilano beach. The restaurant is definitely on the smaller side but I liked the vibe with the music and everything. Servers were also super friendly and helpful. Overall solid food but a bit overpriced in my opinion Cod and chips: 4/5 we got two pieces of cod and chips and it came out to $22 which was more than I expected. The fish were decently big and came out crispy and hot. I appreciated that they automatically split our order into two plates for us to eat Note: the fish and chips didn't come with tartar sauce which I thought was a little odd. It was another $1.25 I think and was just alright. It was a little plain and didn't have enough pickles for my taste

It was a nice sunny day, so I decided to stop by Cockney Kings for some fish tacos. They were really good--the toppings complemented the fish perfectly. I also got the poutine to go, and they packaged it well. The fries stayed crispy, and the cheese curds and gravy were solid. I had my dog with me, and the owner was kind enough to watch them while I ordered, which I really appreciated. Everyone there was super nice. The restaurant is also just a couple of blocks from a park, so it's a great spot to grab food and head over to the beach to enjoy your meal.

We stopped in for Good Friday lunch (party of three) and found a line which was no surprise given the day and the shop's compact interior. The team kept things moving, calling out tables and tracking the queue with care, so the wait felt organized rather than chaotic. We went classic: fish and chips with both cod and haddock, plus a side of tartar. The headline here is the fry as each piece came out audibly crisp, with a light, even batter that didn't read oily or over-salted. The cod was tender and mild, flaking in large pieces. I slightly preferred the haddock for its firmer texture and deeper, sweeter flavor, which held up especially well against the crunch. Chips were solid alongside, and the tartar added a clean, tangy lift. Service stayed attentive despite the rush, with staff keeping an eye on turnover and making sure tables were reset quickly. Next time, I'd try the halibut and add sides like mushy peas or coleslaw to round things out.

I was so excited to try this solid 4.9, five star Yelp rated spot. This casual, no frills eatery has only five tables but offered solid food and genuine kind service! The laid back vibe is fitting for drawing in beachgoers from the local beach only seven minutes away. That's precisely how we ended up here in August while re-visiting Vancouver's West side. We indulged in the two piece halibut and chips. $27.95 CAD with a generous side of their in-house made creamy slaw $2.95. The hand battered fish was light and crispy and had a good batter to fish ratio. I'm guessing that it is the beef tallow that makes your lips smack after every bite. With made to order fish and fresh chips/fries, a variety of extras to pick from including small mushy peas ( a classic English side) I couldn't ask for anything more!

Probably the best fish and chips I've had on this side of the continent. Very similar to the fish and chips we had in London! Large portions, decently priced! Hot and fresh. Slightly under seasoned for my preference but would come again! Staff were super friendly!

Called to order take out for pickup while hanging at the beach. Ordered a two piece cod with chips and a Caesar salad. Pros: - quick and friendly service over the phone and in person - the fish is battered lightly and searing hot - solid traditional chips - large portions for the cost $18 for fish and chips and $13 for the salad First time my friend ate fish in nine years and she said it was well worth it for this meal.

Two-piece cod and chips with coleslaw and house-made tartar sauce.

Delicious and affordable, my two piece cod and chips hit the spot. I paid extra for a small portion of coleslaw and the house-made tartar sauce (because I'm on vacation and wanted to live it up). Service is excellent. Very small place, so if you want a table you might have to wait, but it is worth it.

Nestled between Albasha and Vera's on Cornwall in Kits, you'll find a modern take on a classic fish and chips shop. While the seating is modest, you'll experience the same quality as their Burnaby and New Westminster locations. The fish is lightly battered and crispy. A bit of the tartar sauce compliments the classic taste. The fries are the right tenderness and crisp you'd expect from a chip shop.

Calamari (top) and fried oysters (single order - the # you get depends on how big or small their oysters are)

We went for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We split the 2pc halibut and chips, an order of calamari and one fried oyster. Everything is fried in beef tallow. The halibut was perfectly cooked, albeit a little bit greasy. The chips were good. The tartar sauce was "meh" - more like a zingy mayo/miracle whip. The calamari was an excellent rendition of a classic pub food. The tzatziki sauce was excellent as well - I wish they would put the same effort into the tartar sauce! Not greasy in the least. My husband ordered one fried oyster, but because they were tiny that day, they gave him three. The oysters tasted great, but they were quite greasy. Like there was a pool of grease under it, and lots in the batter. Luckily, my husband doesn't get skeezed out by greasy deep fried food. I am generally not a fan of deep fried food, but I thought they did a pretty good job. Are they the best? No. But definitely better than about 90% of the crap out there being sold as fish and chips! And the service was excellent! Very friendly and helpful! A great little fast-casual restaurant.

Halibut was delish!!! We are not leaving until Friday so looking forward to going again. Cute environment.....

One of the best fish n chips that I've ever eaten! Definitely in my top three of all time! Staff was super friendly and the service was great!

Great customer service The coleslaw is a must! I went for the small but totally regretted not ordering the larger size. Had the Haddock, they are huge pieces!!! Tried the cod too and look forward to trying the rest of the fish option next time.

There is a speakeasy called The Stock Room in the back of Hundy where one can enjoy cocktails and burgers together. We sat at the bar at Stock Room and in addition to our drink orders, we ordered a couple of burgers and fries. Both the burger and fries were delicious. The meat was juicy and flavorful. After going to a local sporting event and looking for a late night bite to eat, we decided to come give them a try. The interior is quite minimalist, and the menu is simple. My husband wanted to try their bacon cheeseburger while I ordered a classic cheeseburger. We ordered one set of classic french fries and one set of poutine fries. While they were preparing our food, we made our way down the long hallway to the back where the speakeasy was located. We just wanted to peek our heads in, but didn't stay for a drink. The cool thing about Hundy is that the speakeasy will serve their food while apparently also serving up some tasty cocktails. But back to Hundy and the food. The cheeseburger was absolutely delicious and the french fries were cooked to crispy golden perfection. As for the poutine, it was some of the best that we had on our trip. So speakeasy aside, if you're looking for a good burger in Vancouver, I would definitely come check out Hundy.
