This nail salon is a small hole in the wall in lake city. Found this spot when I was looking online for salons nearby. I gave them a call and made an appointment the very next day for Saturday morning. Street parking was a little tough to find but I got free parking adjacent to lake city way. I noticed on their outdoor sign that there's a parking garage so I'll have to locate it next time I come! I was greeted warmly and immediately seated in the chair. I got a gel manicure and gel pedicure for $80, and it took exactly an hour to complete. I was given a nice back, hand, and calf massage as well. The salon was clean and they had many gel color options. Within the hour I was there, you could tell there were many long term returning customers who value the staff and vice-versa. Definitely come here next time you're looking to get your nails done! read more

Regrettably, I have to stop going to Lovely Nails because my appointment there this week left me feeling upset and unsafe. I had a 3 pm appointment, but the owner, Ann, called me at 2:15 and asked, "Can you come now?" I was in the middle of doing something, but I said okay. She said, "See you in 15 minutes," but there was road work on 145th Street that forced me to use a detour. I told her I wasn't sure I could get there in 15 minutes. She did say, "No rush," but she was, in effect, rushing me. The parking garage at the Array Apartments, where the shop is located, is dark and cramped, and street parking is limited. I have always struggled with the extremely narrow stalls surrounded by concrete posts. There were spaces marked "Reserved" that I could have slipped into more easily, but the signs deterred me from using them. I pulled in to the slot closest to the entrance and tried to straighten my pickup. As I backed up to straighten the angle, guess what. I hit a post in my blind spot. The lowest estimate for the body work is $3,400. My vehicle is old so I don't carry collision insurance. Here is the kicker: when I described what happened, another customer in the salon told me she had damaged her car on that EXACT SAME POST! She will no longer enter the Array Apartments garage. Ann apologized for the experience. I asked her if she would please speak to the building owners/managers about the damages suffered by NOT ONE, BUT TWO, of her customers in the parking garage. Ann flat-out REFUSED to pass on my feedback. She said the building owners don't care and won't do anything about it. I have been coming to Lovely Nails for many years, and I like these ladies very much. I just do not feel good about this place anymore. I believe that Ann doesn't care enough about her customers to help them in situations like this. She clearly does not care what happens to the people who support her business. read more

I've been going to Lovely Nails since they were further down on Lake City like a decade ago. I have never once had a bad experience, their shop is always clean, always packed, and always filled with laughter and patrons who, like me, have been going here forever. These ladies are the best. I recently switched from gel to dip at the advice of Holly, and can now not only keep long nails without breakage, but my nails last weeks longer than they did with gel. Bonus: Holly is so creative and gives the BEST massage. I am always booking my next appointment as I leave my current one because I never want to risk not getting in. I want to say I truly like the technicians, vibe, polish selections, massages, and nail work. The only issue I have, and it's a BIG one, is that I do not see ANY cleaning products used on the nail tools or the tubs in which you soak your hands and feet. It is my cursory understanding hat by law, Barbicide or an equivalent disinfectant be used between EACH CUSTOMER to prevent the spread of bacteria and possible infections. Here, they simply use a cloth to rub off the implements, which will do nothing to remove bacteria. Please, Lovely Nails. Mind the law and safety of your clientele and start using disinfectants to keep your customers safe! read more

I want to start off by saying that I have gone here twice, the first time I would consider a 5 experience. The second time, today, was sadly not the same. I called ahead and went in and everything there was smooth. Unfortunately the acrylic fill I had requested and been reassured that I was getting ended up 1. costing the same as a brand new acrylic set without any fancy work done($60) 2. left me with a crooked nail 3. a gap between the paint and my skin where it looks like it has already been a week 4. just overall not a sophisticated paint job or file job Again, the first time I went in I had the best experience I have ever had and did recommmend this place to my friends right after I would suggest that you try this place because of the first time but that it does depend on who you get. read more

After trying other nail salons in the area, this by far is the best. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed right away. The environment is impeccably clean and has a modern elegant look. Holly was my technician and did the best full set that I have ever gotten. No skimping on the small details here. I'm now a regular customer. Do consider calling ahead for an appointment. These people will overcharge and not give good service, be rude and aggressive when moving body parts around. I told them I forgot why I don't come here after coming a couple times it's because they charge way too much. Charged me 140 for pedicure which I didn't even enjoy and a basic acrylic new coffin set. I asked for a regular pedicure and when finished they did not give me enough time for my toes to dry before rushing me out the door although two clients had been sitting in the drying rack since I got there and still there when I left. When I got home my two big toes were destroyed. Came back the next morning and had the lady fix it. She clumped nail polish on my toe to where it started pooling at the bottom. I tried to explain what I wasn't happy about and she proceeded to put on more top coat. Update: she told me to wait 15 minutes to put on my shoes but due to her excessive amount of polish the second time around my toe is messed up again. read more

We went today and got two pedicures, the normal person that does my nails was busy so we had two new women. Just had a great experience at this nail salon. Very nice long massage with my pedicure. The pedicure itself was quick and efficient but very well done. Friendly employees were not overly chatty. The place is air-conditioned and prices are quite reasonable. My Monday pedicure was $32. I highly recommend this place. Parking is available in a parking garage attached to the building. The worst service and worst job! I came in for a mani and pedi. They did not cut or shape my toe nails. Lady cut my cuticle and it was bleeding, she laughed that I was bleeding so much. She then tried to apply glue to my cut. She did not apply base coat on my finger nails and applied the polish too thick. And she turned off the massage chair after 10 mins. It's like they were rushing through my service, which was confusing because there was NO ONE in the salon! Worst job and worst service. I have been coming to this nail salon for the past 9 months. Holly is extremely talented and professional. She takes pride in her work and ensures that you are happy with your nails before you leave. If you like long nails and intricate designs, Holly is the best nail tech to go to. She shapes my stiletto and coffin tips PERFECTLY every time and also listens to what I want for my designs. However, when I am unsure of what I want, I can trust that she will do an excellent job. Unfortunately another one bites the dust in my quest for a solid nail salon. Positives: friendly, efficient(somewhat), clean and sort of punctual. I wanted this to be my go to place but unfortunately I was disappointed. I find it odd that they were calling clients the night appointments to ask if we could remove our own SNS in order to save time.. That's why we come to you. To get that sort of thing taken care of. You don't get to charge us full price for only half the work, in order to squeeze 'more time in for more clients . Second, I don't want to have to worry about stopping to get cash before coming for service I hate getting guilted by them for wanting to use my debit. Every time I pull out my card, I am asked if I have cash instead. Third. SNS chipped at the tips of 4 nails within 2 days after coming in. That's why I get SNS. To avoid that. And lastly, I come in to relax. I love a little conversation, but my tech wouldn't stop incessantly jabbering . Made it hard to just relax. Sadly, I won't be back . I know they have their loyal customers and that's great for them. I won't be one of them. read more

My pedicure here was so relaxing and fun! The women helping me and my friend were friendly and helpful, with a great sense of humor. The massage chairs were nice, the color options were plentiful, and the results were great. My friend got a delightful flower design for an extra 5-6 bucks. My pedicure was $27. I also liked that they had food network showing on the TVs! To get to the parking garage, you go just a bit farther north on Lake City Way and go around behind the shops. read more
