I have went to many salons and just moved to the area and decided to try this one. My husband and I went there last Monday and were told to come back at 4:30 pm by the gentleman behind the counter for me to get dipped nail color change and him to get a manicure. We arrived at the specified time and at first the lady (Jenny) got the cotton balls out to soak off my previous nails, but then she starts to file them with a regular file. I informed her at that time that I had dipped nails on. She ignored me and continued what she was doing, trying to tell me I should go with the gel nail. So I said, "ok, let's do that!" She proceeded to tell me she didn't have time, next time. Without taking the dipped powder gel off, she painted my nails over it. If that wasn't enough it looked like a two year old had painted my nails, with it all outside the nail, and not even down to the cuticle. I am not a person who is confrontational and even though I tried to tell my husband we were not staying for his manicure, he didn't understand. She started his manicure by cutting his nails with clippers, put lotion on them and never filed them. I was so upset that I didn't pay attention to what she was doing with his manicure. After we left he kept scratching himself where it left marks on his arm, so I felt his nails and they were ragged. Save yourself some money and go somewhere else, there are lots of other nail salons in the area. (To be honest I wouldn't even give them a one star)!

I have to agree with all the other reviews on here about the gel manicure. I was pretty disappointed because I got my nails done on a Saturday and that Monday they already started to chip and peel off completely. Gel manicures usually last me up to 3 weeks if done really well. So this was pretty upsetting. Definitely not worth the $$ Only reason I gave 2 stars is because the owner is very sweet!

Just got this gel manicure on Friday. Already peeling on Tuesday morning. What a waste of money.

Worst gel manicure ever. Got it done Saturday- 3 nails completely lifted off by today. Doesn't even last one week! Never again.

I began coming here by chance and was so extremely happy with the level of detail the nail tech showed. When I initially came in, I had only a picture and an idea of what I wanted. She made my vision come to life and was through, neat and took pride in her work. She was perfect, soft spoken and did not make me feel as though she was trying to upsell. Since that first visit, I've requested her as my tech through their online booking system but was never given an opportunity to work with her again, but once. I started waxing services and every time I would request this particular tech. This is an option on their website so I assumed they kept track. I made an appointment five days in advance and received a call on the day of, requesting that I arrive an hour before my appointment, which would have been an hour after the call I received. I declined. When I got to the salon, I heard another woman telling someone that she was also asked to come in earlier for her appointment because they over-booked. I figured that was a one-off and let it go. The next visit I made my appointment online and requested the tech. When I arrived, I stated that I had an appointment with a specific person and was told to wait in the private room. Someone named Laura did the waxing service. I did not object but I should have. It was not good at all. She was rough when applying the wax. She was not thorough and did not do my entire lower leg. She did my pedi as well and was very aggressive with the upsell, despite my agreeing to an additional 10-minute massage . When I come to the nail salon, I am coming to treat myself and relax, not be pressured to buy more things. On my last visit, I arrived and stated upfront that I had an appointment with the tech. They just had me go into the private room and some other person came in. Again, I went along with it. She was more gentle than the previous uncomfortable wax service I had, although, she did not wax my entire lower leg. Yet another perosn started my pedi and I finally got fed up and said that I made my appointment with a different nail tech. The tech in question heard me say this (she was doing a pedicure on a woman at the next station) and looked up. Someone came up to me and said that I would need to call to request a specific tech. I stated that this was the thirs time and no one ever told me this before. The tech doing my pedi must have been new because she missed steps. I initially wanted gel but changed my mind and got a regular pedi because I was not about to spend more money on a service and not be happy with the results. At the end of my appointment, they pressured me to give more of a tip then I deemed appropriate. Like, who does that? A tip is an added gesture, based upon the kind of service provided. If you have to be reminded to do steps of a service, or you fail to provide all of the steps of a service, why would you think you're deserving of extra money? Yesterday I attempted to call in for my next appointment, as suggested. The person who answered was having a hard time hearing me, I assume. I was literally screaming into my phone, asking for a pedi, underarm and leg wax, for the following week. I requested the tech I am comfortable with, and was told she does not do pedicures. Remember, she has done my pedi before, and she was doing a pedi on a woman next to me, during my last visit. I found this odd but let it go. She confirmed my appointment and then I asked who would be doing the waxing. She did not even listen to me. She asked if I wanted to add on the waxing. I told her I said that from the beginning. She confirmed and I again asked who would be doing it, mainly because I did not want that same person that caused me unnecessary pain when she was applying the wax. The woman obviously did not understand me. She had an attitude during the entire phone call and told me she doesn't know who would do it. That's when I got frustrated and just told her to cancel the whole thing and that I will schedule the appointment myself, on their website. Side note: I'm not making another appointment. As you all know based upon my reviews, I love consistency. Consistency is the key to happy, repeat customers. I expect the same treatment on day 1 as on day 101. I don't ask for much. I just want the service I'm paying for and to be treated with dignity, respect and care. Obviously, there needs to be flexibility on both sides but I gave them multiple chances to make it right and this just isn't it. I told so many people about this salon based on my first could of visits but I've had more bad visits than good so now it's time to part ways. Currently looking for a new waxing spot, preferably with bomb nail services in the Northeast Bronx/Southern Westchester areas. Please DM me with any suggestions. I tip very well if the services are on point.

I moved to the area recently and Ive been looking for places to get some services done like a wax…read more I called and the front desk let me know the wax lady was busy doing lashes and I would have to wait an hour or more. So I went home to take care of some things and waited for their call. They called me to come in and I basically said I'll have to get ready to step out since I was in the middle of applying a mask so give me a few minutes. I get there and what I walked into was an unfriendly welcoming from the nail techs, no greeting, no smile, just side eyes as if I was not the type of customer they wanted there. I dont know if its cause I had a hair cap on for my hair mask or because I was the only afro-latina in there. Even the customers were stand offish mind you thats not even the most aesthetic spa in the area. Zen Shu is and they weren't like this not even close. I told them what I was there for and I was told the lady left? 2x. Like what do you mean I spoke to you guys 20 minutes ago and you told me to come in. Then the lady from the front finally comes out says the girl "went to the store", that I will have to wait. Then proceeds to ask if I want to wait???? UH yess! I waited an hour for you to finish a service and I came outside like this, OF COURSE! You would think thats common sense. But no it's because the wax lady which apparently is the only one that does waxes there probably went home. Thats the only reason I can think of. So I waited maybe 5-8 minutes until I left and took my money to Beauty Spa, which is what I should've done in the first place. They were very attentive once I walked in, immediately stopped what they were doing and took care of me. I'm very disappointed in the latin community here, I worked in hospitality/customer service before so I understand the work behind it. But I was certainly not expecting this treatment after being called to come in. I absolutely hate wasting my time and today was a long list of to dos before I travel. They need to improve on their customer service as a whole. I would not be recommending my family or friends here at all. Theres so much better though you might spend a bit more, but care, hospitality and TIME is high on my list.

It was a very cold and unsettling experience. The salon is dark and dingy, and just does not seem clean. The instruments were all thrown in a metal dish with no sanitary wrappers. It looks like they are used and re-used on every client without being sterilized. In this age, with so many transmissible diseases, that's an outright disgrace. The pad where you place your hands was stained and dirty-looking. The manicurist placed a paper towel over the stains. The emery board was old and nasty looking, as was the little finishing sponge. As far as the manicure itself, my cuticles were not soaked in warm water, and they were not pushed back properly or managed, so the polish starts FAR from the base of the nails. It looks like I had this manicure done a week ago, and the nails have grown forward. Also, some of the nails were filed round, while others were filed square. It was $17 for a plain manicure. I gave the woman a $5 tip - only because I am a generous tipper, and I thought the remainder of the manicure would improve. It did not. There was no neck massage, no thank you, no goodbye - nothing. That's a wrap for me - never again!
