Just left. Had a UV fill-in. Price posted on price list was $55 for UV fill-ins and $70 for French UV gel fill-in. When I was finished, they charged me $70. They said it was $55 for the fill-in and $15 for the UV gel polish. The $15 extra charge was not posted anywhere. I know someone who was there recently and she said they charged her $60 for a set of UV fill-in gels with polish. I guess they make up prices as they go along and when they can get away with it. The one thing they didn't realize is that I live in the neighborhood, shame on them, and I will stand spread the word. Over all my nails came out ok. I'd give her 6, gel is a little thick at the tips, The one thing I liked was I walked in and they took my right away. Hmmmm not busy at all...on a Friday?!!! read more

Visited yesterday for a mani pedi and Susie took care of me. Susie was nice (as was/is the older male owner) but did not do a good job... mani pedi consists of removing cuticle and although my nails are done regularly... she only pretended to use the cuticle remover and basically just changed my polish. Not worth it, go somewhere else or take a chance with someone else. I strongly do not recommend. read more

I have went to many salons and just moved to the area and decided to try this one. My husband and I went there last Monday and were told to come back at 4:30 pm by the gentleman behind the counter for me to get dipped nail color change and him to get a manicure. We arrived at the specified time and at first the lady (Jenny) got the cotton balls out to soak off my previous nails, but then she starts to file them with a regular file. I informed her at that time that I had dipped nails on. She ignored me and continued what she was doing, trying to tell me I should go with the gel nail. So I said, "ok, let's do that!" She proceeded to tell me she didn't have time, next time. Without taking the dipped powder gel off, she painted my nails over it. If that wasn't enough it looked like a two year old had painted my nails, with it all outside the nail, and not even down to the cuticle. I am not a person who is confrontational and even though I tried to tell my husband we were not staying for his manicure, he didn't understand. She started his manicure by cutting his nails with clippers, put lotion on them and never filed them. I was so upset that I didn't pay attention to what she was doing with his manicure. After we left he kept scratching himself where it left marks on his arm, so I felt his nails and they were ragged. I have to agree with all the other reviews on here about the gel manicure. I was pretty disappointed because I got my nails done on a Saturday and that Monday they already started to chip and peel off completely. Gel manicures usually last me up to 3 weeks if done really well. So this was pretty upsetting. Definitely not worth the $$ Only reason I gave 2 stars is because the owner is very sweet! read more

Wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Came here on a Sunday because most places are closed. Figured I would attempt a new location. They wanted $65 for a full gel set (insane but I was willing to do it because I was desperate). I come in wanting to first soak off the set of nails I had. Can you believe the lady taking care of me pulled out a metro card? I figured okay maybe she knew a special way of taking my nails off without damaging my natural nails. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! The one star is because the place looks nice, but it is not. The first issue is that the clean look is misleading. We're at the height of a pandemic, and this salon is in an area which is currently the nation's center for said pandemic. The techs should be directing customers to wash their hands first, and they should be washing their hands as well. Or they should at least have hand sanitizer at every station which the tech and customer use in front of each other before the tech puts on a fresh pair of gloves. They really should always be wearing gloves anyway. None of that is happening and I should have walked away but I had already paid for a Lyft to check the place out and would have to pay for a Lyft to get home. The second issue is that although I am admittedly pretty picky and particular about how my nails are cut, it's not usually a problem but here, it was. The owner overheard me trying to tell the tech not to cut so far below my natural nail line and asked if there was a problem in a nasty tone. I wasn't being nasty so there was no reason for him to be. The manicure continued but I could tell the tech was doing a sloppy, half assed job. I kept my mouth shut hoping it would improve with the second coat or top coat but it really didn't so when I asked the tech to fix the worst bits, the owner got a nasty tone again. He told me I can come back and have it fixed. Why should the customer have to come back when they are right there and the mistake was just made?! The reason is because the owner tried to rush the tech onto the next customer. He had already gotten my money so no need to worry about me anymore. Apparently he's not interested in making customers want to come back so they'll give him their money again. I won't be going back to a place where the owner gets aggressive if a customer tries to speak up about an issue. My search for a decent salon in New Ro or nearby continues... read more

I get a gel manicure every two- three weeks from the same salon but out sourced because I was in the area and I was going to a wedding in a few hours. The gel is caked on my nails my right hand nails are thick while my left hand has thinly applied gel. I used to go to avalon, but it was really disappointing. The manicure was really long and i left feeling exhausted. After going to numerous places and eventually becoming disappointed, i decided to give this place another try seeing as how it was under new management. I am so happy i did! Sarah did an excellent job on my color gel manicure and pedicure. She took her time and took an interest in getting to know me and my mom. My mom saw Young who gave my mom a new gel extension set. They look very natural. Typically every other place i have gone to my nails have chipped after a week, mine have not chipped at all. I will definitely be going back. I have another appointment coming up on the 2nd, i hope it continues to be a great place. Its convenient, right around the corner. Very clean and relaxing inside. read more

I never write reviews. I went in here a couple of days ago to replace a gel manicure with extensions. This woman convinced me to do something a little different that I had never done... it was one of those gel manicures but they build on some sort of cardboard device- Not actual extensions with glue. I said I would try it. I have never in my life paid more than $50-$60 for extensions with gel. This woman told me it was $110 at the END Of the manicure. My fault... I should've asked but wow... I will never go back there. She knew I was upset and shocked so she tried to explain it away and she would take off the $10 fee that they take to remove your old nails. I've never even heard of that either! Extremely overpriced and she didn't even push my cuticles back... And the paint on my nails is pretty sloppy. I will definitely never go back there. read more

It's clean. It's serene. It's so quiet you can hear the clock tick on the wall. I'm a fanatic about the brands of nail polish and I like to go to places that use OPI and Essie. Blooming uses both. I usually get a mani/pedi for $30 which is very affordable for the quality and the area. When you sit to dry you receive a complimentary massage which is always very nice. For gel polish I was told it would be about $55 but I haven't tried that yet. This is now my usual place. The ladies are very kind, courteous and friendly. They will make small conversation occasionally. They also have a punch card that get you a free manicure after 10 visits. They're also open until I believe 8pm everyday which is perfect for people who have to work. In addition, you don't have to find parking they have a parking lot that's usually very empty. read more

I normally do my own nails since I never had any good experiences in nail salons. However, I recently injured my wrist and needed to have my nails cleaned up. A friend recommended this place so I took a chance. I couldn't believe how different my experience was from what I had known. The place is immaculate, smells wonderful, and had calming music playing. My manicurist, Rosa, was wonderful. She gave me the best manicure I've ever had and took care to work around the large brace I'm stuck wearing on my wrist. I also used to go to Avalon Nails before they changed owners and the new store Blooming Nails seems much better. They have more pedicure options at the same prices previously offered by Avalon. Rosa still works here which is great, she is one of the former Avalon staff who I liked very much, her work ethic is impeccable. The rest of the staff is also very friendly, they are engaging even with limited language skills and I felt as though they avoided speaking Korean in front of us or at least kept it short. I know some of us take it wrong or insulting when another language is spoken in our presence we tend to think that they are speaking ill of us if they speak in another language, but as I said they kept it short and made it clear they were speaking Koren to give instruction to one another. One thing I didn't like was they don't use the paraffin wax before manicures, only if you buy a "spa" manicure they told me but they have other amenities that they use plenty of such as more hot towels than previous. Good massage from Miss Yoeung also! I'll keep going back, next plan on trying the new facial esthetician. read more
