CoCoCurry found a new customer! I received amazing customer service! Oh I wish I would have got her name but not only did she welcome me immediately, she asked if I wanted to try all the different curries. I sampled each one and they were absolutely delicious. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted. I ended up choosing grilled shrimp with flat noodles and the Khao Soi Curry. I added some heat as well! This curry I was told is a northern Thai curry. I also added Thai omelet for $3 more. As soon as she put the food down I smelled the warm spices with the cilantro. The shrimp were nice size (tail on). I enjoyed every last bite and left nothing. Flavors were bold and the medium heat was perfect. So many different ways to create your food just how you like. The add on prices I feel are reasonable. CoCoCurry is small inside but the decor is amazing, the only downside is the parking. Very tight parking! I can see them opening up another location eventually. I highly recommend going and giving them a try.

Possibly the biggest five star review I've given. One of the best curries I've ever had. I love how they have beers from Thailand and Laos. And the curry sampler to start things off is great. The hosts were so friendly and take pride in their restaurant. We loved it.

Everything was delicious! Where do I start... the build your own curry concept is so fun. You basically go on a little curry journey before even sitting down, and it definitely wakes up your taste buds. We went with the Massaman with crispy fish fillets and rice, and the Khao Soi with grilled king mushrooms over egg noodles... flavors galore. Lita walked us through all the base and topping options, which made the experience even better and truly appreciate that extra connection. No complaints. 10 out of 10.

Two things assaulted my senses the moment I walked in. The first was the girl behind the counter asked me to taste test all five of their curry. She said the khao soi was her favorite, and I was convinced into agreeing. I was also partial to the mustard flavor and fragrance. If I hadn't tasted them, I was probably going to order the massaman. They were all delicious though. Well, I did find the green curry a tad weak, but that was at least partly because I had to taste that one last. And green curry has a softer flavor to begin with. The second assault was there was some relatively loud music playing. Not super loud. Just noticeably louder than average for a restaurant, and yet, it was super relaxing. Because it was, like, some Bossa Nova cafe vocal mix. I only know that because I just could not remember what the genre was called, so I went and asked the employee about the music also. Anyways, I ordered the khao soi (hot) with rice and chicken thigh, and it was amazing. The umami of the curry impressed me a second time. The chicken and breading were both soft. The onions and fried egg also mixed in perfectly. This is easily some of the best curry I've had in San Diego so far. I also ordered a tom yum noodle soup with beef. This was also good, but not as impressive as the curry. I believe their meat is also made the same separately no matter what entree you're ordering, so the meat is not made specifically for the soup. Aside from that, the only other negative I can think of, if it can even be considered a negative, might be the location? The neighborhood outside is slightly sketchy. There was a homeless person sitting in the corner in front of the 7-eleven next door. Another homeless man with no shirt on came around the other side of the building and was hanging around in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant. The vibe of this joint really pulls you in though. Something about it feels like an oasis and encourages you forget about the outside world once you're inside. I don't believe in stuff like feng shui, but if there's any truth to it at all, I'm sure this interior design gets an A+ in it.

Don't judge a book by its neighbors. This is a cute, clean, friendly restaurant that happens to serve the best curry (in my opinion) in town. They actually let you taste the curry before you choose. Make sure to let them know if you have any allergies they will point you in the right direction. We had a great dinner and they have a liquor license so you can get a beer or cocktails. Bonus!

The vibe is so cute coming in! Service was very welcoming and friendly :) We got to sample all of the curry before making a decision. The worker recommended the khao soi with egg noodles so I decided to get just that :O! I chose to add crispy duck leg as my protein. My partner ended up getting the pork belly with panang and rice. Both were very delicious and I can't wait to come back!

I have dined in and ordered out from here multiple times. Ambience is good. Small little seating section for about 5 to 6 groups. The restaurant is decorated nicely love the pops of yellows that represents curry. Service is always great when I come in. Greeted as soon as you walk in the door and promptly seated as I have not been when it's been busy the cashier offered a tasting of each curry so that we knew which one we would love the most. I have had a variety of the dishes here and they all have been phenomenal. The most recent dish I've had was the salmon with rice and the pan curry. The flavors were dancing in my mouth. Parking is shared with the others two or three stores in the plaza. It can be a bit tight. I would highly recommend.

I bookmarked this spot last year and we finally got around to dining here on Thursday for lunch at noon. Parking lot is shared with 7-11, Barbershop and Jewelry store. It feels a little sketchy on the outside but the inside feels like sunshine. We were greeted by the friendly woman behind the counter. We welcomed us warmly and clearly explained the process and other menu offerings. We got to sample all the curry sauces, it was hard to choose since they were all divine. She sat up at a table and brought over menus and water. I peeked at the menu before we arrived and had my heart set on Khao Soi with the steamed tofu, rice noodles and Papaya Salad on the side. My friend ordered Massaman with veggies and Jasmine Rice. She also got a Thai Iced Coffee Togo. Both of our meals yummy. I wish my Papaya Salad came with the fermented fish sauce. We ended up stay long after we finished lunch just chatting. There were a few other patrons dining during our visit. Definitely tempted to come back to try a different combination and may the mango and sticky rice.

This is a such a nice little restaurant. As soon as you walk in you can see and feel the care and love this owner has put into this space. She will greet you first and have you taste her incredible curries. There are six of them. Each are delicious and unique from the others. You chose your protein, add a curry and a base. They also have other dishes as well if you don't want curry. We order the khao soi, Penang, and green curries. We had the crispy duck, salmon, and chicken. Also ordered the papaya salad. Each was delicious and we all enjoyed our dishes. We also tried the mango and sticky rice. Definitely will come back here.

I'm not a huge fan of curry but this place made me change my mind. They have different types of curry and you can choose your base and protein. I came in with my friends when nobody else was in the restaurant so we were able to sample their different curry flavors. The girl that served us was very nice and informative because we did not know what we wanted. They have other dishes as well but the curry was the star. There's also a few selection of beer and wine. The restaurant was clean. It is a small establishment so it can get crowded and there's not a lot of parking.

CRISPY DUCK PANANG CURRY WITH EGG NOODLES Iced Pink Milk

Randomly found CocoCurry on social media and their food looked so good that I had to check it out, and I'm so glad I did! This place has such a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by one of the owners, who was incredibly friendly. She welcomed us in, asked if we had been there before, and once she found out it was our first visit, she offered us samples of the different curry options. Every curry we tried was delicious and unique in its own way. My personal favorite was the Panang, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their options. The concept is build-your-own, so you choose your curry, carb (rice or noodles), protein, and any additional toppings. I went with the Panang curry with crispy duck and egg noodles, and it was amazing. The duck skin was perfectly thin and crispy, while the meat was juicy, succulent, and packed with flavor. The Panang curry had the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with a nice little kick of spice. The egg noodles were cooked perfectly and really brought the whole dish together. The service was also phenomenal. Not only did she give us such a warm welcome, but she gave great recommendations, kindly walked us through how to order, and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying the food. Overall, we had such a pleasant experience here. Great food, amazing service, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more curry combinations. I would definitely recommend checking them out!

1st visit was excellent. When you walk into CoCoCury, there is a partition to your left that separates the dinning area from the walkway to the cashier. I like that there is a separation to allow guests some privacy while eating. This place looked clean & new. I asked if restaurant was part of a chain & they are not. They are small business The cashier/server asked is if it was our 1st time there.. & she was kind to provide us samples of each curry sauce they offered. I ordered the crispy pork belly with massaman cury with brown rice & BF ordered crispy duck with Khao soi over white rice. Side order of the papaya salad with fermented crab & mango with sticky rice. The curry was delicious, our server was attentive. Its was a positive experience & We will definitely be back. ** one thing to keep in mind which is not a deal breaker (IMO) is the parking. CoCoCurry is situated in a small business-like shopping center with limited parking. It may be a deterrent for some so plan accordingly. I still gave 5 because of the food and dinning experience. read more

First time trying CocoCurry and it was one of the best dining experiences We've had! Walked in and was greeted warmly at the counter AND offered different samples of their amazingly tasty curries! We ordered the Yellow and Massama and We could not believe how incredibly tasty each dish was! We chose chicken as our protein and those were so tender and delish! This was the best curry experience we've ever had in SD and you can actuallyntaste the tamarind spices on the curry. Definitely coming back! read more

I had a taste for Thai and remembered driving by this new spot. The location is something to be desired, but the food and service is great. Inside was small but cute. They let you sample the curries and all were delicious. I had the panang, but can't wait to go back and try the others. I also got the mango sticky rice, I had never had it before and it was so good. My first review of CoCoCurry was in early November (25 days ago) ago and now it's December so here's an update: Between last month and this month, they have RAISED the prices on their protein options by $5.00. What used to be affordable (with budget planning), is now a place that we will no longer frequent. The restaurant itself is very nice, impeccably clean, and the curries are delicious, but now, it no longer fits our budget so we won't be returning. read more

The owner of Vien Dong Market nearby highly recommended this place so we came to check it out. Loved their concept of giving out free samples of all their flavorful curries. 6 of them! Some we've never seen or tried at other Thai restaurants. And they made sure everyone in our party got a taste of each one. We so enjoyed 3 of them with different proteins and bases: egg noodle, rice noodle and jasmine rice. Pad thai also delicious! Cute, clean, modern ambiance and friendly staff! read more

Had the khao soi with crispy chicken and my friend had panang with grilled chicken. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Make sure you get the limeade - it was so good. I wasn't in love with the cucumber or papaya salad sides and parking lot was miniature, but we were able to snag parking right in front of the door on a Sunday afternoon. The woman/owner running the front of house was amazing - working all by herself with grace. Will come again. read more

Sooooo good! You get to try samples of the curry before you make your final decision. The curry flavors definitely have a little kick (a little spicy) but super flavorful. From the pictures, I could already tell the food looked amazing, but actually coming in and trying it was even better. When I first walked in, the lady at the front was super welcoming. I told her it was my first time there, and she kindly offered to let me sample the different curry bases. I already knew I wanted crispy pork belly as my protein, but choosing a curry was tough since they all had so much flavor. I ended up going with the Panang curry -- it's sweet and savory, and I enjoyed it so much. I even asked if I could get two curries on the same plate (that's how hard it was to pick!), but she said they couldn't do that. However, she mentioned I could order an extra sauce on the side, which was nice. For my base, I chose egg noodles -- and that was such a good choice! There was enough sauce to coat the noodles perfectly, almost like a saucy pasta. The crispy pork belly was cooked beautifully and full of flavor. For my side, I picked the spicy cucumbers, and wow -- they were so refreshing! The chili sauce on top reminded me a little of gochujang, and it paired perfectly with the cucumbers. I also got an appetizer -- cream cheese wontons -- because I always try those wherever I go. These did not disappoint! They were generously filled with cream cheese, wrapped in thin, crispy wonton wrappers, and folded perfectly. The sweet chili dipping sauce completed them. As for my drink, I ordered a Thai tea (I always do if it's available), and it was exactly how I like it -- creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. As I was about to leave, the lady at the front came up to me and let me know that starting tomorrow, they'll be updating their menu! She said they're going to reduce the prices of the curry bowls and make sides optional add-ons. They're also adding new dishes like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, which I'm super excited to come back and try. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Overall, I'm not exaggerating when I say this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars. It's located in City Heights in a small spot next to a 7-Eleven. Parking is limited (only about four spaces out front), but everything else was amazing. I went around 2 PM, and it wasn't busy -- just me and one other customer. If you haven't tried this place yet, I definitely recommend stopping by! read more

Wonderfully delicious. Food was fresh, and tasted great. Tried the fried crispy chicken with the Khoa Soi curry. Very very good! Also had the spicy cabbage which was a nice balance. Also ordered the Mango Sticky Rice. Absolutely amazing. Mind you it's not out of this world amazing. It just was a solid made dessert. Perfect mango, rice was sticky and the white drizzle of what I think was coconut milk was just spot on. Service was excellent. Friendly and efficient staff/owners. Keep up the great service! Ambiance was pleasant and inviting. The place is in a small strip mall type place with very limited parking. A suggestion would be to order ahead and pickup. Double park for a quick trip inside to pay and go. All in all a great little place with what seems to be well made dishes, with fresh ingredients and amazing flavors. Highly recommend. read more

Eat here. This place is amazing. The food is warm and comforting filling and full of flavor. I usually get khao soa over rice with marinated beef but the duck is sooo good with it too. I also love getting their coconut thai tea its the best thing ever. The service is also amazing they're sweet and attentive. I rave about this place to all my friends!! I also always go here with my boyfriend and the ambiance is great! Theyre always playing bassa nova love songs and its perfect for us. read more

The curry was phenomenal, the owner gave us samples of all the curry options and there was not one that I did not enjoy. I ended up going with the Panang, the owner is very knowledgeable of what proteins and sides pair well with my curry option. Along with the great food I got thai tea, a perfect drink to pair with the entree. Definitely recommend! And definitely will come back for more! read more

Great customer service! I was able to sample each of the curries before ordering, which was a nice touch. We went with the chicken breast Panang curry, medium boiled egg, jasmine rice, cheese wontons, and dumplings -- everything was delicious. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's located in a shared plaza with a 7-Eleven and a hair salon. But overall, if you're a curry lover, this spot is definitely worth checking out! read more

I will definitely be back here! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the super nice lady at the front and as we were deciding which curry we wanted, she offered to give us samples of them all! Let me tell you, everything was so fricking good!!! I ended up getting the green curry and it was so flavorful and also vegan as well. We also got the yellow curry and oh my gosh, I will definitely be thinking about this place forever we tried the crispy chicken and the grilled chicken and both were amazing as well. I 100% recommend this place and will be dreaming about it lmao read more

Very solid quick service curry spot! I'm surprised that I've never seen Thai food in this type of format before (basically a "build your own bowl" situation), but happy that it exists within walking distance of my house. Parking in this area can be brutal, so keep that in mind if you're not local. My family got the panang curry with duck, green curry with chicken, and khao soi with pork belly and all were distinct and flavorful. Also got an order of spring rolls, and while they weren't anything special, they were crispy and hit the spot. The employee who greeted us was also really kind and welcoming, and the small seating area looked pleasant. Will definitely be back. I do miss the Loving Hut Express that used to be in this spot, but I'd say this is a very worthy replacement if there had to be one. (Also, will try to make an updated review with photos next time I visit--we all inhaled our food before we could take our cameras out:) read more

As a curry connoisseur this place is incredible. I got to sample all of the curry flavors and decided on the Khao Soi with crispy duck protein and papaya salad. The duck was actually crispy as advertised and not overcooked. I'm going to come back and try the pork belly next time with the panang curry. The parking is a little challenging, however she explained that you can park in the 7-Eleven lot next door, as long as it's not right in front of the 7-Eleven. And just like that, one of my new favorite Thai restaurants in San Diego. WOW! What a cool little spot. Not the biggest spot, but love the atmosphere - more intimate with a very welcoming vibe. The owner is great, so kind. Offering samples and assuring I ordered exactly what I wanted. I ordered takeout, the build your own. I got crispy pork belly for my protein, Panang, and a jasmine rice base - I also added two boiled eggs. Excellent! Flavor profile off the charts, great presentation, and a very generous portion. Checked out the new Coco Curry in City Heights and it did not disappoint. One of the coolest things is that they actually let you try samples of the different curries before you order. Love that. Service was super friendly and chill, and the food was fire. We went with the Panang Curry this time, and it hit all the right notes. Definitely coming back soon. Just tried Coco Curry in City Heights and wow, it's legit. They let you taste the curries before ordering which was super helpful. The staff was really welcoming and made the whole experience easy.
