Gelato shops with the same brand name are all over Las Vegas but we went to the Mandalay Bay location that is close to Allegiant Stadium. I used to beeline to Starbucks without noticing that this place, right next door, has Illy coffee and a whole bunch of other stuff! After a dinner at Ri Ra at Mandalay Place, I rode the escalator down in search of a coffee. I saw Starbucks was closed and was going to just keep going - but then the big case of gelato caught my eye, and then the sign that read Illy. I was in! She was SO FRIENDLY, had a big smile, and was ready to answer any of my questions. There were so many flavors of gelato to choose from but I was craving a coffee flavor - between Nutella Coffee and Espresso, Diana advised that if I was craving a coffee flavor, go for the Espresso. The gelato was delicious - super smooth, not overly sweet with just the right amount of coffee flavor. I loved it. Terrible experience. Tonight on 05/14/2026 the female employee was extremely rude. We asked about sampling and she pointed to the sign. I asked why and she blamed upper management and said the sign is right there...CLEARLY..I can see the sign, I wanted an explanation. The main reason for this is that out of the 6 I ordered, most were old and very hard. Unfortunately, you can't tell if how long they have been sitting out but I never had hard Macarons. Usually they're soft, gooey, and chewy. These were HARD. I would have actually gone back to complain about it if it wasn't for the fact I was already out in the parking lot by the time I tried one. Cocolini is one of those places that are located throughout Las Vegas in a bunch of different casinos and is the perfect place to stop and get some Gelato on the go. I stopped at this Mandalay Bay location about a month ago with my fiancee after checking out a convention center going on that day. It was around 1PM and the place had a small line, but my hankering for gelato meant I was willing to wait and it was worth waiting a few minutes for. I ended up getting two scoops of gelato in a cup, the first being stracciatella which I honestly don't fully know what it is, but its absolutely delicious and one of my favourite gelato flavours. My second scoop was the regular mint chocolate chip. Both flavours were solid, although not exactly a 'best gelato" contender. It was creamy and had some flavour, but ultimately falls on the average scale. Overall, Cocolini is a solid place to stop and get some gelato, but probably not something you'll be reflecting on after you eat it. Worth checking out? If you want some gelato and you are at the Luxor or Mandalay Bay, sure, why not, but don't go out of your way for it. read more
