I come to the island a lot to visit my mom, but I'd never tried this little spot until now. We ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and the steamed sea bass with ginger. Both dishes were really good. The sea bass was super fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce was just a little sweeter than my personal preference, but I asked for some extra soy sauce and garlic chili sauce, and that balanced everything out to my liking. The service was great too. This place wasn't on our radar until a local told us about it. It's a very unassuming food shack in the middle of Coconut Marketplace. It's the kind of place that you're tempted to walk past. I'm glad we didn't. Everyone in our party was happy with their orders even though some are not huge lovers of Asian food. We had fried rice, drunken noodles, pad thai and orange chicken. I loved seeing basil plants sitting outside. Fresh is best! Seating is limited so you may want to take away. We were given service with a smile. Mahalo to the hard-working kitchen team! We almost passed by this place on our walk. It's hidden inside Coconut Marketplace. On the outside, it looks a little run down, but don't be fooled. I was also a little skeptical because they serve both Thai and Chinese food. I can't speak for the Chinese food because we didn't order it, but the Thai food was good. We ordered the Thai coconut curry (yellow) with chicken and a side of rice. Total of $21.93. Could easily split this meal between two people. We even had some leftovers after. Came here after seeing all the positive reviews. We ordered the orange chicken, pad see ew, and lo mein with tofu. Every single dish was an overcooked sloppy mess swimming in oil. We wondered if they reused the pans and oil between dishes because every dish tasted like it was mixed with flavors from another dish. Husband's tummy was upset. Got the drunken noodles with tofu. The dish tasted more Chinese than Thai and was overwhelmingly salty. The noodles were slightly undercooked but the tofu was delicious. The dish also had interesting elements like celery which is not something you'd see in Drunken Noodles. The food came out super quickly which was a big plus. This is an order-at-the-window spot with some simple outdoor seating options. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, drunken noodles, veggie fried rice, and cream cheese wontons. We just ate at this place for the first time tonight. We have been coming to Kauai annually for over 20 years and never knew this lovely market place existed! What a nice surprise! We ordered Drunken Noodles and Basil Sturfry with large Kauai Shrimp and a honeydew Boba drink. The service was very friendly and prompt. And the prices were reasonable. Seating is outside but the ambiance is nice with plenty of tables and a shady grassy knoll. Please don't feed the birds! They didn't bother us but all they need is encouragement. The portions were large and very tasty. Afterwords we shared a shaved ice treat at a location nearby and shopped at some of the many shops. Very nice evening. We were shopping for some gifts to bring back from Kauai when we ran across this place. It's a small stand in an outdoor mall but it's in Kauai so nothing wrong with that. The person running the stand was really nice and happy to answer our questions. My daughter got the lemon chicken and we got some eggplant and curry. Overall the food was good, the eggplant was overcooked and a little mushy but tasted good. If I was ever shopping there again I'd probably eat there if I was hungry. read more

Came here after another restaurant was unexpectedly closed. There was a decent line and reviews overall seemed promising. The place seems short an employee or two. They're is a lot of waiting involved. By the time I got to the ordering station, waited about 7 minutes to even place an order, then an additional 35 minutes to receive food after ordering. DO NOT COME! This is hands down the WORST experience I had on Kaua'i. The owner is a RACIST, period. We came here on July 4th cause not many stores open. We ordered 6dishes and 2 soups, when i ordered the food the Asian guy (idk if he's the owner) already showed bad attitude, added wrong items to my order and when i pointed it out he made it like it's my own mistake, being super impatient about my friends asking questions. Later a white guy started ordering and the owner's attitude immediately became much better asking if everything alright and if the white guy needed anything. This already made me super uncomfortable. While we waiting for the order my friends went to ask some napkins to clean the table, the owner raised his voice with passive aggressive attitude 'for what??!!' He didn't give us any napkins, my friends had to explain we just ordered, which is weird cause they were with me this entire time. He gave us a dirty table cloth. When we picked up the order, he gave us 2 spoons and couple forks. We asked 2 more spoons and maybe a few paper plates because we were a group of 4 and we traveled here so we didn't have any utensils. He laughed at me and be like you ordered 2 soups I can only give you 2spoons. If you want more, it's 25cents per spoon or paper plate, you ain't get them free. I was shocked and almost laughed out loud cuz how ridiculous this is. I saw some other Asians posted reviews about this owner disrespected them, I want to post this that it's not a one time case - this owners is a 100% racist despite himself being Asian. It is a shame. The guy taking our order was very knowledgeable and helpful and getting me to choose the correct item for me. I will definitely be back. So this place hit the spot, but I'll set the scene: Jet lagged and tired. Hungry, and not in the mood to a) drive anywhere and b) eat at the hotel. Our solution was to go for a walk, and we ended up in the Coconut Marketplace. Is this place a tourist trap? Most definitely yes! Does that mean this place isn't great? NOPE! It's a home run! This marketplace has a ton of dining and retail options, with a grassy quad in the middle boasting ample seating and tables that are only a little bit sticky! We ordered pad-see-ew with tofu and an eggplant entree with rice, and was just what we needed. Nothing fancy, no frills, but I don't need that to be happy!
