June 2026 I ordered from Island Craves via DoorDash. Long story short, the DD driver stole one of our orders. I called Island Craves and spoke to the owner. We both deduced the driver was a thief! The owner was super cool and chill and no one was to blame but DD. Regardless, we ordered the loco moco and it was DELICIOUS! Because of the DD mishap, the owner gave us 6 donuts. Update/Response to business: Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, that isn't what we experienced. No names were called when the food was brought out, and there were only two parties dining in the restaurant. The food was placed directly on the other table, where it was eaten while we waited another 20 minutes for our order to be remade. From what we observed, the other party appeared to know the staff and was not asked to pay while we were there. Mistakes happen, and as fellow business owners, we understand that. What disappointed us was how the situation was handled. We would have appreciated ownership of the mistake and an effort to make it right. We wish you and your business the best. Original review: We stopped here for a light lunch after the Fern Grotto tour. The iced coffee was very good, but unfortunately our dining experience was disappointing. When ordering, the employee at the counter seemed impatient while we looked over the menu, and the interaction felt rushed. We ordered fries, wings, two malasadas, and a loco moco without an egg. While waiting we ended up getting iced coffees. After waiting about 15-20 minutes, our food was brought to another group, even though it matched our order exactly. We had to point out the mistake ourselves. The other group proceeded to eat the entire meal we paid for while we waited another 20 minutes for our order to be remade. There was very little acknowledgment of the error, no meaningful apology, and no effort to make the situation right beyond offering us different food while we waited. We had already paid and ultimately asked for our meal to go. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. Watching another table eat the meal we had ordered and paid for without anyone taking ownership of the situation made for a very uncomfortable experience. Donuts were dry, like they were sitting there for a while, the malsada also must've been old. :/ and very very disappointed with the Loco Moco :( had no seasoning or flavor in the meat nor gravy. This spot is eye-catching. Colorful building that we kept passing by we had to try it. From the exterior walls you already knew it sold local food. There is a small parking lot but we found parking. Great location -- walked there from our resort down the street. We only tried the malasadas -- a first for us, but we were seeing them all over the place and had to satisfy our curiosity. The absolute worst Loco Moco on Island. Rice was so overcooked i thought it was mashed potatoes. Zero seasoning on the meat or the gravy. Light brown gravy tasted of raw flour. Tater Tots were inedible, tasted like old oil. Overall awful. Close to home but will not eat this food again! read more

My other half goes here very often and I've got a burrito this time around and it tasted different. I cut the burrito in half and ate one bite and there was no eggs or sauce in it after that bite. Burrito consistency not the same I don't know if it's the cooks or rushing to make the burritos. Very disappointed again. My husband loves donuts so and so we had to stop and try some here in Hawaii. We were pleasantly surprised with the coconut malasada. It was fresh and not too heavy. My family and I came here for lunch and sat at one of the 5 tables in the restaurant. I ordered a cold brew and after 10 minutes, went back to the register to ask where it was. The girl at the front made it , left it by the espresso machine and never called my name or walked it over to alert me it was made. When I asked about it she stated "I didn't see you" but she could have called my name, which she had when I ordered. We waited 40 minutes for our food and we were understanding at first because we were a party of 8 and other customers had come in. But once food for customers who came in after us were brought out, we asked. A guy was walking out the orders and saying the orders name but they never called ours. They had bagged up our food even though we never said to go and kept it behind the counter. Our burgers were all cold and we had to have them remade. Excellent gluten free pizza, the crust was so good I was nervous it was too good to be true until I double checked with the staff! My husband also really enjoyed their donuts and burger options. Reasonably priced and a great spot for a takeout lunch or dinner to the beach. read more

Honest reviews for honest taste buds- I would rate a 2.5/5 I ordered a pork and pineapple pizza; however, they didn't have pork, so I just got a simple Hawaiian. My first thought is: How do you not have pork?. The pizza was average, not bad but also not good. It was truly MID. The crust was literally just crust, no seasoning whatsoever. I really wanted to like this place after reading so many positive reviews. We went for breakfast one day not long after they opened and they were out of sausage breakfast sandwiches. Doughnuts were ok but not wow. The tater tot's had a unique flavor for sure. Almost like old oil or something. This was breakfast. Lunch another day we ordered a pizza and a burger. The burger was great. The pizza took around 35-40 minutes and was so greasy and soggy. I'm not sure if they are microwaved or what, but I was disappointed for sure. We stopped here due to a rating on Yelp for breakfast/lunch upon arrival on the island. NOPE! It was ok, but not great. Donuts were good. The main issue I had was we also got a burger, the fries literally tasted like fish! And not slightly. So they clearly use the same oil for everything, or it was very old and tastes like everything ever fried in it. I found it gross. Pretty basic yeast donuts. They were more gooey and doughy than they were airy. It was a heavy donut. I chose a donut topped with blue vanilla icing and cookie crumbles. I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything to write home about. Island Craves had a large menu in addition to a donut selection. I cannot attest to their pizza or other menu items. I only stopped for a donut. Service was lack luster but efficient. Honestly nothing special here but quick and easy stop if you're on the go or in a pinch. I guess this is Kauai version of the voodoo donuts on the mainland, so we decided to try some. They had different flavor combinations so we ordered the Oreo & Mint, Strawberry Sprinkles, Chocolate sprinkles and Macadamia nut and the Oreo & Mint donut was very good.
