Discovered this little gem of of a friend's recommendation. They seems to have it all. We enjoyed a lemon meringue tart (absolutely delishious) and a chocolate mousse ganache (a little too chocolaty) and cappuccinos. Service was a bit slow to get our cappuccinos but they were good. Might be a bit pricey but I'll be back to treat myself. read more

What a cute little gem of a coffeehouse! This place has it all from wine to breakfast sandwiches. I got the Avocado/Bacon toast (on Gluten-free bread!) and it was amazing. Th place is cool and I liked the ambience. once in a week we stop by to grab a coffee and some cakes or donuts. We trued Cannoli once and we did not like them (maybe to our taste it was not perfect), however everything else was pretty tasty. P.S. waited for our coffee for a while. Absolutely positively one of the best places in Hawley and surrounding areas to get pastries coffee food etc. The staff especially super cool Lauren and the lovely redhead Christie, are so friendly and so quick and extremely knowledgeable about all of their products. I am literally addicted to their almond croissant... So glad we have them here! The Hawley hub absolutely must take a lesson from this amazing place. Two words: donut Sunday. Just go! I consider myself a low-key donut connoisseur, and the cinnamon sugar donut I had at Cocoon was one of the best I've had anywhere. Huge, fresh, yeasted-fluffy dough, and a crunchy cinnamony exterior. Every flavor looked equally delicious. This was our last stop on our way out of town, and my only regret is not getting a few more to go! All the other baked goods were quite tempting as well. The barista told me they are made fresh daily in their bakery in the old silk mine building next door. Coffee left something to be desired. Ice coffee was watered down and acidic. And don't go there looking for a lox bagel-- no bueno. read more

I like Cocoon very much and I go often. I think the pour-over coffee is great, service is generally very friendly , and the atmosphere pretty relaxed to hang out or get work done . Breakfast sandwiches , specialty coffees , pastries and other bakery items are also incredible! My one complaint is that they need to get a bit more eco friendly ! They used to recycle and now I don't see that happening at all. A lot of their to-go items come in oversized plastic containers. And their parking lot is usually a mess, strewn with plastic bags and coffee cups etc. For one of the more upscale and progressive businesses in the area, we really do expect more. We need you to lead by example! read more

*Crappy attitude, *Completely unprofessional , and *Zero customer service. If they were my employees, I would be embarrassed of my business. I was so disappointed today in Cacoon. I took family there because I have always had great experiences and decent coffee. However, today when we arrived in the mid afternoon it was a different story. There was no on else in the cafe, and there were 3 employees working behind the bar. The first took our order and was a little flippant about the whole thing. I didn't think much of it until I noticed nothing was getting done. She promptly gave us our sandwiches (cool), meanwhile we sat at a table to wait and on our 4 drink orders. The guy behind the bar did absolutely nothing. Then as we sat eating our sandwiches, I could tell something wasn't right. I watched all 3 staff members giggling, socializing, and not doing their jobs. Keep in mind, there were zero additional customers at this point outside of our party. Finally, after about 10 minutes of watching this we realized it didn't appear anyone was working on our drinks. Sure enough, we up to the counter to ask for our drinks, and the young lady said she didn't know we had ordered any. Both of the women vaguely apologized, and slowly got to work. Another 10 minutes go by and we finally receive our drinks, and one of them is incorrect. We quickly tell the young woman, sorry, we didn't order this, and she copped an attitude and gave an eye roll and disgustedly said, sorry and that she'd get a new drink as she huffed back to make a new order. On her way, she helped a new customer before she completed our order, and the other two employees were no where near to be found so that they could help the new customer. Needless to say, we were appalled at the lack of care and customer service. I would hate to be paying employees who don't do their jobs. read more

Absolutely terrible. If you've ever had a decent cup of coffee you won't like the brown colored water they serve here. The avocado on their toast isn't fresh avocado. It's a cheap spread that doesn't even taste like avocado. The service isn't that great either. If your'e driving down Route 6, you might miss this very-hidden little coffee shop. There are some big signs that say "COCOON IS OPEN," because there's some construction going on in the vicinity, so beware. I drove around for about 20 minutes trying to find "Bellemonte Avenue," only to give up. Of course, when I gave up is when I spotted the big signs. The building has some little flags outside that say "COCOON," as well as some spots marking parking, so just keep your eyes wide open for this place. It appears that the coffee shop's location is on the grounds of an old silk milk (hence the name), and the decor and interior of the building is just killer. The walls look like they're original, cement smeared all over the walls and an open ceiling with beams and visible wood. The seating is comfy black chairs, couches, and one long PA-style wooden table with bench seating (think: Amish-built). There's a bar with all the fixins for your drink, a public-use computer, free wi-fi, and plenty of country, down-home music to keep you occupied and stimulated while working. It's a really cool, casual, calm kind of coffee shop, so if you're looking to do work, this joint is perfect. The downside? They close at 6 p.m. I know, I know, it's Hawley, PA, but some of us are outsiders looking in and need something open until at least 8 p.m.! The coffee options are typical (lattes, mocha, etc.) and they also offer some food options like sandwiches, salads, chips, and sweet cakes and treats. Essentially, if you want it, they have it, and prices are reasonable. The service, be warned, is a little slow, but don't let it get you down. This is no Starbucks or Big Bucks Coffee Chain, so take your time and put yourself into a slow, calm mentality and you'll be fine to sip you coffee with ease. read more

Been here every time we come to PA (we live in NY)... the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel is just like home and the quality is up there with NY bagels. The coffee is always fresh and delicious and the variety of flavors you can add is wonderful. Cannot say that my experience here was pleasant. The cafe is poorly run, very disorganized and not enough staff to handle customers & orders. The staff seemed overwhelmed and some of the items could not be made because they ran out of food. This is inconvenient as most customers are deciding their order while waiting on a long line. As you get to the counter, you are then told they're out of x or y and you are rushed to decide on something else. The wait to receive your order is also unreasonable. I don't think I've ever waited about 45 minutes to an hour to order & receive a panini....I don't live in the area and was visiting for a couple days so this was a very poor first impression. By the time I got the order my appetite was gone and I was only happy to leave. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the food itself because I never had the opportunity to eat it. read more

We came to Lake Wallenpaupack for the weekend, I went on Yelp and bookmarked all the places I wanted to visit and was so excited to try the Cocoon. Line was ridiculous, not because of the volume of people but because of how slow if took to get food out for to-go orders. It took us nearly 40 min to get coffee, 2 croissants, a bagel, and an egg sandwich to go. The coffees were outstanding. The croissants were great. The bagel was horrible, it was like a frozen Pepperidge Farm bagel barely toasted. The egg sandwich which sounded delicious was dry as could be with what looked like microwaved eggs. Maybe we are spoiled with NY bagels, but this was really disappointing. read more

I used to love this place, it's so charming and the coffee is good. I ordered avocado toast but specifically without the bacon bites and instead of toast to have it on a bagel. I was so disappointed to find that when I received my order it had the bacon on it, I didn't want to make it a big deal since you can easily pick it off. But the bagel was stale and there was little to no "avocado" on it. It wasn't even an actual avocado it was a guacamole spread and there was barely any of it on the bagel. Again, I like this place so I didn't want to fuss over it but I will never order food here ever again. This item was $10 as well which is absurd for even a normal avocado toast. read more

I come to Lake Wallenpaupack every summer and used to love Cocoon. In June 2016, it was an amazing place that I would not expect to find in such a remote area, and I fell in love. However, by June 2017 it was clear the service has slipped dramatically. The house coffee was watered down to the point where it tasted like it was from a gas station, and my experience today really put me over the edge... My girlfriend and I ordered chai lattes, and I ordered mine as a "dirty chai." A barista with any level of experience knows this means one shot of espresso. However, since my drink was a large, they decided to put two shots in. They didn't ask me; they just did it. Typical espresso shots are $1/each. However, they charged $3 for the "double espresso" in my dirty chai, as if I had ordered a separate drink. NO. I simply ordered an addition to my drink, which I'm happy to pay for, but I was shocked to look at my receipt and see that this mediocre drink cost $6.50. I graciously asked the woman who appeared to be a manager if I had been overcharged, and she said, "I put two shots in." I said, "Right, normally that costs a $1" to which she responded "Ours are $1.50." She then told me the drink I ordered cost $6.50 and when I told her that was ridiculous, she shrugged and said I had learned for next time. That was it. No empathy, no attempt to please the customer. Completely cold. I think I'll begin driving an extra 20 mins to the coffee house in Honesdale next time I visit Lake Wallenpaupack. read more
