5 stars for the bubble tea and shaved ice. They have an extensive menu of drinks and even some milk teas that are sugar free if bubble tea is too sweet for your taste. The shaved ice cream (literally) is delicious and Coco's is stocked with wonderful new flavors to discover. I can't say anything about other locations since I've only been to this one or anything about the menu, although a friend of mine who's Taiwanese says that the food isn't anything special so I trust his judgment. Yes! I finally got around to coming back. Ha. I say finally. It was what, a week later when I returned? But, yes, I returned, with boyfriend in tow and this time, we ordered real food. I highly recommend the number six, which has eel. Yes, tasty, tasty eel. We also tried the pearl drinks. He got the almond and I got the highly recommended taro. If I was a white cat with a pink bow on my ear who had very limited to no facial expressions (who only carries cash.. cause well.. cats only carry cash) this would be the place I would go to liven up!! Such a cute, clean little place! CoCo's cafe has an awesome selection of drinks that are generously made by the cafe's friendly staff. Best Taiwanese beef noodle soup I've had outside of Taiwan and mama's kitchen. Add some bubble tea to that and I'm a happy man.

This location only takes cash...something to note when heading here as there are no decent ATM's around. I thought that I would be all clever and go to Hong Kong Supermarket and buy something w/ my debit card and ask for cash back - except that Hong Kong doesn't allow that and sends you to the back of the store to the ATM machine that chops off your arm for its fee - okay, i'm exaggerating but it was like a $2.50 fee or something exorbitant like that. So - hard lesson learned, bring cash. Now about the food and bubble teas here. LOVE the bubble teas. I like them here better than anywhere else in town as well -- except maybe Tapioca House on the Drag - but that's another review... My favorite milk tea here is the watermelon juice w/ boba because it's fresh watermelon. i almost always get this. being lactose intolerant kinda hinders my love of food and ability to eat some of it but doesn't stop me from sampling friend's drinks. taro root, almond milk tea, iced mocha, and many of the fruit smoothies are all yummy. the green teas are also good but like the black teas, they can be kinda strong, potent, but i like that since i grew up drinking vietnamese ice coffee. i highly recommend trying the wintermelon if you never have. it's got a really unique flavor and is quite sweet and many folks that i suggested it to have made it their new fav. food-wise-it's fast, it's cheap and it's not exactly healthy but it tastes sooo good! green onion pie (also known to some as scallion pancakes) are great when they are hot and fresh. the dipping sauce is tasty! the spicy beef noodle soup is a hefty bowl brimming w/ greens and pretty tender beef shoulder(?) with linguini sized but udon-tasting noodles. i've had the fried tofu and it was good - not spectacular but decent. I do also recommend the fried pork chop and fried chicken as it's got a nice sized meat portion served with rice and some pickled vegetables (cabbage, shredded carrots, and jalapeno, if you're lucky you might get a lemon w/ rind slice) but they will put this sauce on the meat and rice that is made with their ground pork and some folks don't/may not like it so ask for it without or have them put that sauce on the side. you get free unlimited soup with your entree purchase (not w/ bubble tea purchase) and sometimes the soup is great and sometimes it's not. lastly, this place is great for groups because everyone orders what they want at the counter, pays, and they get a number and the food gets brought out to your number. simple and easy, no bill splitting headache, etc. overall, i really love Coco's for their consistently delicious and myriad bubble teas and food that will hit the spot and not break the bank. read more

I haven't tried their food menu so I can't really comment on that. They're boba drinks are tasty though, but not the best I've had. I've tried the taro root and thai ice tea boba drinks and neither made me gag. I will likely continue going to this place to satisfy my boba cravings. read more

This review is long overdue....I love this place. This pearls are a hit or miss for me and my boyfriend and I usually just don't get pearls but that one time I decide I want it, it is sooo good. Dranks are always good! Food...don't even...them chicken nuggets are my absolute fave and the green onion pancake?! So good! The chicken and rice dish is served with white meat and the nuggets(appetizer one) is dark meat. White is a lil dry for me so I usually ask for a side of rice or dark meat when I get the soup noodle dish. Every thing on the menu is bomb and they have free soup too! Togo takes a while. 1st time I try this place was on my birthday. The taro bubble tea was good but, their peppercorn tofu was a bit spicy for me .

my only quarrel is that when i asked what kind of coffee they use the response was not Cafe Du Monde. Fine. I got the smoothie with boba and im drinking it as i write this review. its ok, the boba is nice and chewy and not overly mushy. when i first got the drink i noticed the boba was hot and remembered that when its too cold it gets hard and when its soaked for too long it gets gooey mushy. good job on the boba! i see what you did there. read more

Beef noodle soup has large portion of noodle and meat. The beef stew is very well cooked with very rich flavor. I didn't give five stars because they still have room to improve the type of noodle that they're currently use and soup needs to be hotter. read more

Came in for lunch. There was a line at the register and everyone's food looked delicious. I decided to try the vegetable vermicelli with tofu and an avocado with coconut smoothie. I had the green tea with tapioca and the vermicelli pork soup. The green tea was very refreshing and the tapioca delicious. However, the pork in the soup was kinda disgusting. It was fatty, spongey and tasted a little like dog food. I wouldn't go back for the food. read more

The food was really bad. I got the rice and fried chicken, and my girlfriend got the curry fried tofu with rice. She didn't eat past the first bite because the curry tofu was essentially a pile of bland vegetable gravy. It was really soggy and gross. My dish was better than that, but still pretty pathetic. The chicken had no flavor, which is a shame because it was actually really juicy and tender. I heated up some orange sauce I had in the fridge and tossed the chicken in that myself, and that made it pretty good. Came with a gross soggy pile of cabbage on the side for some reason. I wouldn't recommend the food. The pearl tea was pretty good, hence the 2 stars. read more

I've been going to Coco's for a while. Today My mother and I went and they hassled us when we requested a refill on tea. Seriously!?! TEA! Love the food but it was ridiculous that they came to our table and explained/harassed us that we shouldn't have requested a refill because we had green tea etc. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I prefer this location over the one on the drag near campus. The workers here are exponentially friendlier and more efficient. This store also has much more seating, which is always a plus. I consider myself a bubble tea snob since I'm originally from Houston and I frequent Dallas a lot -- two cities with higher quality and much more delectable bubble tea. Nonetheless, CoCo makes some decent bubble tea drinks. I normally get the jasmine green tea (with milk) or the almond milk tea. If you're in the mood for a smoothie or slush, I would highly recommend the honeydew smoothie and mango slush. In terms of food, I normally get the fried chicken with rice or the beef noodle soup with fried chicken. The former tastes a little bland unless you ask for a side of peanut sauce. I believe the most popular dish is the ground pork with rice, which is always pretty good. If you're in the mood to chow down on some food while drinking bubble tea and you happen to be in ATX, I would highly recommend this place! read more
