Address is incorrect but this is one of the postings for Gong Cha in The Domain. The actual location is a small walk south. Gong Cha is an interesting chain because they can be super inconsistent across locations. When they're doing well, they're at the top of the food chain as far as chains are concerned but they can also miss really hard. The drinks here were pretty good but boba would fall closer to the bottom of my scale. Service and boba as a topping missed here. This location in particular felt unfriendly. Went in to pick up an order and had no acknowledgement whatsoever. Had to announce that I was here to pick up and got the fastest "not ready" response while walking away because it was too much hassle to pause for a second and make eye contact. Very snobby and dismissive, behavior that makes for a terrible impression. Pearl Milk Tea - a classic of all time, the milk tea is a solid creaminess with a hint of tea. Gong Cha does particularly well on the creamier taste, this location isn't much different. Boba however, was clumpy and firm. Tasted fairly old at noon and lacked flavor. Lemon Wintermelon Basil - nostalgic Hong Kong lemon tea flavor with a kick of wintermelon sweetness. This could be a new favorite especially with the heat. Refreshing, cool, and slightly sour tartness are all enhancements to the sweetness. At 30% I believe it's still fairly sweet by nature and going down to 0% is a viable option. If you're adventurous and want a new drink, I highly recommend this. If wintermelon milk tea is one of your go-tos but it's a hot day and you want something more refreshing, this is your calling. read more

Gong Cha at The Domain I'd say is a pretty solid boba chain. Parking can be a bit of a hassle depending on the time you go, since The Domain is always packed. Taste wise, it's not bad, though some drinks can be a little too sweet for me. Drinks come out quickly, which is nice. My only gripe is that they sometimes go overboard with toppings. I've had cups where it felt like half the drink was toppings and half tea, which some people might love but isn't really my preference. Gong cha serves consistent and good quality stuff! They are a global chain and very well know. Their teas alone are brewed very well, with lots of variety on their menu. Because this location is at the Domain on a street with lots of foot traffic, it can get pretty busy. But drinks come out relatively quick. It's kind of a small shop so seating is a bit limited. Wanted an afternoon tea or coffee and saw the boba shop. Got two, both were crème brûlée but one was dirty brown sugar and one was strawberry. I like that you can chose the ice amounts, sugar amounts and the sizes were solid. Quick turnaround on times, not much to sit indoors but easy to walk and go. I've ordered from Gong Cha many times but today's experience was not ideal. Tip: they don't have Thai tea listed on the menu, but you can ask for it, which was what I did. The Thai tea is good. This is mainly a review on my customer experience. I am a frequent Gong Cha customer-I know they ask for sugar and ice levels, so I ordered a medium (the smaller size) Thai tea with regular levels. The cashier then asked me what levels and I was a little annoyed because I already told him. They usually remind customers that pearls cost extra. I didn't mention it and neither did the cashier, so I thought that was good because I didn't need pearls. The payment screen didn't show up-I didn't know how much I was paying until I inserted my card and the payment was already approved...for around $14! So I asked why am I paying $14 for Thai tea? The cashier asked "didn't you order two?" I did not, and he should have confirmed this with me. So then, he proceeded to refund this money back to me and gave me a large Thai tea with pearls for free. (I didn't order pearls but free is free). read more

Whenever we're at the Domain, I HAVE to stop by this place because I love their signature 3J's boba tea special (Earl Grey Milk Tea with Boba, Pudding, and Grass Jelly) -- I still don't know why it's called "3J's" when only jelly starts with a 'J' but nonetheless, it's a delicious drink haha! I particularly love their boba because by default, they are smaller in size (not as small as mini boba though) and it's easier to choose a bunch of them together without exacerbating the mouth. This location is located in a particularly bustling part of the domain next to Jinya Ramen, which makes it convenient to pop in if you are in that area for some other reason. I always get the same two orders, which are black and oolong milk teas with grass jelly (rarely with boba). Overall, the milk teas are ok and will hit the spot if you are craving them (though there are better milk teas out there). The service at this location tends to be decently quick enough. Probably the only downsides are 1) that this location can sometimes get crowded, and 2) the door seems to slam if someone doesn't carefully shut it (it can be a bit jarring on days where people are constantly coming in and out). read more

I am a fan of the Gong Cha location in Northwest Austin at 183 and 620 and decided to give the Domain a try with a less enthusiastic boba drinker recently. I was pleased as always with my Earl Grey Milk Tea with the Three Js but felt bad for my companion as they were out of everything for his first choice drink inspite of it being a featured drink for the month and were out of the mango pearls for his second choice. I do realize there are supply chain issues that are unavoidable but it was disappointing nonetheless especially when they were advertising the things they were out of so aggressively around the store. I also found the location disappointing in comparison to the north location as it was small, lacked seating, and had excessively bright lights. Came here recently for the lemon tea ai yu jelly drink and it tasted good and was refreshing. Texas summers do not lend itself to me wanting to drink heavy cream teas. This drink fit the bill and was tasty. My one complaint is how big the pieces of lemon were in the drink and how bitter they were. These are full pieces of lemon slices that kept clogging my straw and were very bitter. I like that they have the konjac pearls too. This place was hidden in the middle of the hip shopping area, surrounded by all shops and tall apartments building. The crowd comes and goes not too much of a long wait like Gong Cha in California. The winter melon milk foam tasted like any other Gong Cha place I've gone to, only this place is a bit on an expensive side: $6 plus tax for a large drink. Milk tea prices had sky rocketed in the last few years but it is not justified for that much. But if you're a milk tea lover, you'll willing to pay any price for a decent cup of milk tea. Since the taste is the same every Gong Cha, the best place would still be in Taiwan. Their menu is not that big compared to some other places, but I think the tea is really good (I'm generally very boring and only get the teas).
