I was really in the mood for shaved ice and could not find an open location, but I remembered that this place had smoothies and I thought they had shaved ice. They actually only have one shaved ice offering that comes with four different choices of fruit, although they have about 20 Giuce's of toppings and then they put shaved ice on the bottom then the fruit and shaved ice on the top if you want them to. There's also some type of liquid sauce that permeates the ice that is delicious. I forgot the cost, it was around six dollars, and was well worth it. There was a load of fresh fruit and whatever they put on the ice was delicious as well. I will go back sometime if I want a refreshing treat. Very large portion! Very friendly server!

I've been a returning customer at both CoCo's locations since college. I consider them the OG Taiwanese comfort food spot in Austin. Their peppercorn chicken and tofu dishes are filling and balance well with the side of pickled vegetables. I like their light, crispy texture and the scallion, jalapeño, and garlic topping. They have a complimentary self-serve cabbage soup on the side to complete your meal. I've also tried a few of their other dishes including the scallion pancakes (savory and flaky) and lu rou fan (the meat is tender and the egg is marinated well). You can't go wrong with any of their boba drinks if you're craving something refreshing and sweet. They have plenty of toppings to choose from, and you can adjust the sweetness level. Service is quick, and you order at the counter.

I've never had food here but I like their drinks so far. This time I had Brown Sugar Milk Tea with pearls and it came out quick (I ordered online) and was pretty well made. Although good, I would note that the drinks are a tad pricey at $7-ish for a small.

CoCo's has been one of the OG spots in that shopping center -- I've been going there since I moved to Austin 20 years ago! It's still one of my favorite places for Asian comfort food, and they make some of the best milk tea and taro smoothies with pearls in town. This isn't influencing my rating at all, but fun fact: I actually used to work there ages ago! I got to eat their food 3-4 times a week for lunch, and honestly, I never got tired of it. It was such a fun, startup-style workplace too -- especially getting to make all the drinks myself. My all-time favorite dish is the Peppercorn Chicken with rice -- it's always a hit (and you have to pair it with their jalapeño soy sauce ). In my opinion, they've nailed their milk tea -- perfect balance of tea and milk, and the pearls are just right: warm, sweet, and perfectly chewy. Other favorites my husband and I love: ground pork with rice, bacon pork with rice, eel steak with rice, chicken nuggets, spicy beef noodle soup, spiced eggs, rice balls, and shaved ice! All in all, we keep coming back -- some things just never get old!

Been going here for over a decade since my college days and the quality is always good. Can't go wrong with the fried tofu and peanut sauce and if you're a garlic love definitely get the peppercorn chicken. Service is friendly and the vibes are always chill. Go to drink: milk tea with boba

Overwhelming odor. Good restaurants don't have these.

Boba drinks are $6 each and somehow our total comes to $17.50 for 2 of them. Extra $3 each for boba is insane, that's just price gouging. Prices went up again after their renovation when it should have gone down instead. And the tea was very weak, and my taro coconut milk tea had no taro in it! Service was good, friendly and fast. They cook food there but you'd never know how delicious it smells because there's a nauseating "magic scent" pumping out way too much fragrance. Why does a high quality premium restaurant need to mask odors with such a strong fragrance? Get rid of the fragrance and let your restaurant smell like a RESTAURANT. No excuses for bad smells when you have a new renovation! Any time you walk into a restaurant and it doesn't smell like a restaurant RUN AWAY. They've always been good until now

My family's favorite shaved ice shop! The price is reasonable and you'll get to have a mountain sweets! you can pick the topping items so it's fun to make it together! Also I enjoy their complimentary delicious soup! Love their service! Keep up the good work! Cheers

We stopped by after hanging out in the plaza and I was so pleased to see that they had non caffeinated items on the drink menu since we wanted to hang out longer but still wanted to be able to sleep that night. I also love how the shaved ice is customizable! They have a bunch of different toppings options and you can really just make it how you like it! Sadly we had already eaten dinner, but I really want to try some of the food options! I've heard a lot of good things about the peppercorn dishes.

This Taiwanese street food is one of the small items store with drink and shave ice. This place very typical street food can be found in Taiwanese street vendors. We start with rice meat ball. The rice paste and sauce is delicious. They have house soup that very delicious. We also got the pork chop. This is typical Taiwanese pork chop coat with Pearl type coating. We also got the shaved ice. It comes with grass jelly and more. Love it. Overall is very good experience. Highly recommended.

I can't believe it took me so long to try Coco's Cafe. Coco's is a cute, little Taiwanese comfort food cafe that also makes tasty teas, milk teas, and other Asian beverages. I stopped in for a weekday lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. They have a free, self-serve vegetable soup for dine-in customers. Quite frankly, I could eat a whole bowl of that soup and be happy. They also have some condiments for your food like soy sauce, jalapeno soy sauce, chili paste, green onion, cilantro, and more. I got the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The dumplings were bigger than I expected and super tasty. The dough was soft and the side sauce matched perfectly. The noodle soup was absolutely wonderful. I didn't make a single flavor change to it. The noodles were thick and chewy and the broth was ginger-forward. The amount of beef in the soup was unreal too. I barely made a dent in the food before getting full and ended up taking a ton home for leftovers. I really can't wait to go back and try more items off of their menu.

NO for us. We paid $38 for the Peppercorn Tofu with rice and Peppercorn Chicken with rice and the half order of green onion pancakes. Not worth it at all.... didn't even finish any dishes we got. We are from Houston and I am Taiwanese and this did not taste authentic at all. The dishes they offer are definitely Taiwanese dishes but the taste did not meet the bar for my husband (my husband is white) and me. Whatever they added on top of the chicken and tofu was super greasy/soggy. The chicken and tofu were fried but no flavor at all.. I was assuming that the chicken would taste like Taiwanese popcorn chicken... nope. The green onion pancakes.. we didn't even finish.. it was not good at all. Tasted like fried bread no onion scallion flavor at all. My husband said no crunch.. The picture I took was what we left the restaurant as.. one bite taken. Service was pretty fast and we came during dinner time. Ambiance of restaurant was cute too - like a cafe. Only reason they are getting 2 stars. The food was not up to par for us. We didn't get the chance to try their dessert - it seemed like maybe that's what people came here for?

SO GOOD 10/10 recommend! (not pictured: my food i destroyed...i was starving)

The restaurant is small inside, not so much room so be mindful if you're coming in at a busier time with more than 3 or 4 people. The employee behind the counter was very knowledgeable and we appreciated her suggestions! We decided to share the Mango Bingsu dessert--shaved ice with condensed milk, chunks of mango, mango syrup and some whipped cream on top. It was the perfect size to split between two people. It was SO good. I appreciated the large chunks of mango on top, in the middle and at the bottom of the dessert--sometimes restaurants cheat you out on fruit toppings. In addition to the sweetness and tang of the mango the condensed milk added a creaminess to it that balanced it all very well. The sweetness of the shaved ice was also surprising--almost like frozen milk. It was very refreshing. We loved it and the pricing was fair for how much goodness came from this dessert. We will definitely be back to try more of their dessert options!

That was honestly the whole reason for my visit and had made a trek from South Aust I was able to place my order on the app and decided to try the Berry Whimsical Milk Tea with graham crackers and cheesecake milk. It turned out to be a bit too sweet for my tastes. It was supposed to have a cheesecake topping with graham cracker crust on top which sadly it did not. I could not believe the $9 price point for this beverage. The staff was friendly and had my beverage prepared when promised. Sadly the carebear collab was over in April so I will not get the opportunity to try that Taro Tantrum or Cheery Rosehip slush.

Kung Fu Tea is one of the better boba tea options we've had here in Austin. This location is…read moreespecially convenient with parking right out front and many other options to eat at before or after you get there. The inside is clean and very spacious and the menu is diverse but simple enough to understand all the possible combinations. Ordering was very quick, although they ran out of boba and other things midway through our group order making it hard to find something, granted we did come in 20 minutes before closing. After we ordered, there was a line behind us, but I'm not sure what they could've ordered considering everything was out. We ordered a taro milk tea with boba and a matcha milk cap. We typically order 50% sweet because most drinks are too sugary and this ended up being the right call because at 50% sweetness this drink tasted perfect. The matcha flavor really came through in the milk cap but wasn't too earthy, and the taro tea base was refreshing and sweet as well. Our drink was great and this spot is just so easy and convenient to get to, making it one of the better options for bubble tea we've seen in the area. We'll definitely be back whenever we get another boba craving and look forward to it.
