I was really in the mood for shaved ice and could not find an open location, but I remembered that this place had smoothies and I thought they had shaved ice. They actually only have one shaved ice offering that comes with four different choices of fruit, although they have about 20 Giuce's of toppings and then they put shaved ice on the bottom then the fruit and shaved ice on the top if you want them to. There's also some type of liquid sauce that permeates the ice that is delicious. I forgot the cost, it was around six dollars, and was well worth it. There was a load of fresh fruit and whatever they put on the ice was delicious as well. I will go back sometime if I want a refreshing treat. Very large portion! Very friendly server!

I've been a returning customer at both CoCo's locations since college. I consider them the OG Taiwanese comfort food spot in Austin. Their peppercorn chicken and tofu dishes are filling and balance well with the side of pickled vegetables. I like their light, crispy texture and the scallion, jalapeño, and garlic topping. They have a complimentary self-serve cabbage soup on the side to complete your meal. I've also tried a few of their other dishes including the scallion pancakes (savory and flaky) and lu rou fan (the meat is tender and the egg is marinated well). You can't go wrong with any of their boba drinks if you're craving something refreshing and sweet. They have plenty of toppings to choose from, and you can adjust the sweetness level. Service is quick, and you order at the counter.

Shaved ice with condensed milk and brown sugar either your toppings of choice. You order and add toppings plus get it right away. Great environment and many seat options for solo/group.

I've never had food here but I like their drinks so far. This time I had Brown Sugar Milk Tea with pearls and it came out quick (I ordered online) and was pretty well made. Although good, I would note that the drinks are a tad pricey at $7-ish for a small.

CoCo's has been one of the OG spots in that shopping center -- I've been going there since I moved to Austin 20 years ago! It's still one of my favorite places for Asian comfort food, and they make some of the best milk tea and taro smoothies with pearls in town. This isn't influencing my rating at all, but fun fact: I actually used to work there ages ago! I got to eat their food 3-4 times a week for lunch, and honestly, I never got tired of it. It was such a fun, startup-style workplace too -- especially getting to make all the drinks myself. My all-time favorite dish is the Peppercorn Chicken with rice -- it's always a hit (and you have to pair it with their jalapeño soy sauce ). In my opinion, they've nailed their milk tea -- perfect balance of tea and milk, and the pearls are just right: warm, sweet, and perfectly chewy. Other favorites my husband and I love: ground pork with rice, bacon pork with rice, eel steak with rice, chicken nuggets, spicy beef noodle soup, spiced eggs, rice balls, and shaved ice! All in all, we keep coming back -- some things just never get old!

Been going here for over a decade since my college days and the quality is always good. Can't go wrong with the fried tofu and peanut sauce and if you're a garlic love definitely get the peppercorn chicken. Service is friendly and the vibes are always chill. Go to drink: milk tea with boba

Overwhelming odor. Good restaurants don't have these.
    Christopher S.

Boba drinks are $6 each and somehow our total comes to $17.50 for 2 of them. Extra $3 each for boba is insane, that's just price gouging. Prices went up again after their renovation when it should have gone down instead. And the tea was very weak, and my taro coconut milk tea had no taro in it! Service was good, friendly and fast. They cook food there but you'd never know how delicious it smells because there's a nauseating "magic scent" pumping out way too much fragrance. Why does a high quality premium restaurant need to mask odors with such a strong fragrance? Get rid of the fragrance and let your restaurant smell like a RESTAURANT. No excuses for bad smells when you have a new renovation! Any time you walk into a restaurant and it doesn't smell like a restaurant RUN AWAY. They've always been good until now

My family's favorite shaved ice shop! The price is reasonable and you'll get to have a mountain sweets! you can pick the topping items so it's fun to make it together! Also I enjoy their complimentary delicious soup! Love their service! Keep up the good work! Cheers

We stopped by after hanging out in the plaza and I was so pleased to see that they had non caffeinated items on the drink menu since we wanted to hang out longer but still wanted to be able to sleep that night. I also love how the shaved ice is customizable! They have a bunch of different toppings options and you can really just make it how you like it! Sadly we had already eaten dinner, but I really want to try some of the food options! I've heard a lot of good things about the peppercorn dishes.

This Taiwanese street food is one of the small items store with drink and shave ice. This place very typical street food can be found in Taiwanese street vendors. We start with rice meat ball. The rice paste and sauce is delicious. They have house soup that very delicious. We also got the pork chop. This is typical Taiwanese pork chop coat with Pearl type coating. We also got the shaved ice. It comes with grass jelly and more. Love it. Overall is very good experience. Highly recommended.

I can't believe it took me so long to try Coco's Cafe. Coco's is a cute, little Taiwanese comfort food cafe that also makes tasty teas, milk teas, and other Asian beverages. I stopped in for a weekday lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. They have a free, self-serve vegetable soup for dine-in customers. Quite frankly, I could eat a whole bowl of that soup and be happy. They also have some condiments for your food like soy sauce, jalapeno soy sauce, chili paste, green onion, cilantro, and more. I got the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The dumplings were bigger than I expected and super tasty. The dough was soft and the side sauce matched perfectly. The noodle soup was absolutely wonderful. I didn't make a single flavor change to it. The noodles were thick and chewy and the broth was ginger-forward. The amount of beef in the soup was unreal too. I barely made a dent in the food before getting full and ended up taking a ton home for leftovers. I really can't wait to go back and try more items off of their menu.

    Carolina E.

Boba teas with choices of milk.... Regular, almond, banana, taro and coconut for a few but many more options. They also have shaved ice that you can add toppings to. Lots of topping choices, there's a small bar with options. They offer food, dessert and free soup for dine in customers. They have small cakes, macaroons and some little cakes that look like moon pies. Prices are read as well. Pomegranate pearls are tasty.

The music here wasn't loud and it was easy to carry a conversation. The interior aesthetics of this place reminded me of a Japanese restaurant, despite this restaurant servicing Taiwanese fare. Unfortunately, they don't sell alcohol here. I would have loved to drink a beer here with its solid vibes. I took off a star because of the blinding sunlight that pours into the space. Each time we came, we had to be strategic on where we sat so that we or our friends didn't have to face the sun. But other than that, Noodly Alley continues to be a reliable choice for authentic Taiwanese food.

Lamb noodle soup was the same as the beef noodle soup; it did come with the black fungus, seaweed, tofu, and some vermicelli clear noodles, along with their handmade noodles. This could have been my mistake but I don't remember any choice in the matter. The greeter wasn't very friendly and borderline surly when I asked for more details about how to not book the bar in the future. Didn't get any explanation but fortunately, we won't have to worry about that... The food was just awful. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.
