This is a tentative 5 stars off the back of both visiting the other location and thoroughly enjoying their Thai tea and feeling like it would be unfair to dock a star for ordering something slightly more out there in terms of the sesame milk tea. The sesame milk tea was still genuinely good, just not as good as the Thai tea I had previously. Will be giving this specific location another try once I'm back in Austin and updating my review. Service and atmosphere were both great, ordering was a breeze and I could definitely imagine myself spending an afternoon in there working or chilling with friends.

Gen Bobabee honestly surprised me. I wasn't expecting it to be this good for Austin but it was actually so tasty. I got the avocado smoothie and it was super creamy and not too sweet. I even asked for normal 100% sweetness. The boba balls were amazing too, really fresh and chewy. Lowkey such a good spot if you're craving something sweet!!!

Every time I come here, my experience gets better and better. I like every drink I've tried. So far, my favorite here is the Creamy Milk w/ Grass Jelly (Coffee Flavor). Soo yummy and fresh. Also, the service is great. They are always friendly and efficient. I love the cute decor and the cute little sitting area where you have to take off your shoes. They also have free wifi, so you can get some work done in this cute little coffee house. I love stopping by here after shopping at MT Supermarket! Call me a regular. ;)

As you can see from my pictures, I am obsessed with the avocado smoothie. This is the only place in Austin where I get avocado smoothies and they're so creamy, smooth, and avocado-y. Service is always quick even when they're busy and I love how casual the cafe vibes are!

The artichoke drink. Cup is no longer see through so you can't see how beautiful this drink is....

I've been to Gen years ago because I was attracted to the beautiful picture of the artichoke drink with the pandan leaf, agar boba, herbal jelly, and chia seed. My trip in 11/2024, the cups are no longer plastic so I can't admire the beauty that is the composition of this drink and it does take away that experience for me. It's located in the Chinatown area of Austin and there are so many food and drink selections in this center. This shop is always consistently busy and I love the selection, albeit, I've always ordered the artichoke drink. Parking is plentiful so no stress there.

No customer service at all. No acknowledgment of my presence. Asked for light ice and the whole cup was full of ice. Second time here and experience was the same the first time.

I saw that this was a recommended boba shop for getting work done, so I came here to study with a friend. I got the Japanese mango kumquat green tea, which was so tasty and a perfect level of sweetness. It costs $0.95 to add honey boba to an already pricey drink, but the drinks are large and you can tell they are of high quality. The staff were kind and helpful as I chose from their vast drink menu. There is wifi, outlets, and really beautiful decorations. I adore the origami paper crane tree. There is a really cute shoes-off lounge area with sunflower decor. It was at times very quiet and also sometimes very noisy when we came on a Sunday afternoon, but I enjoyed studying here. There is plenty of parking in the Chinatown plaza.

I usually like to visit a place more than once before leaving a review...but this place blew me away on first visit and cannot see myself leaving anything less than 5 stars! interior design - very welcoming, warm, and with a little sunflower section for lounging I guess? Can't speak to its usefulness but hey, it's a vibe! service - fantastic! The workers were more than happy to answer my questions and help me customize my drink. But on to what really counts - the drinks! There were so many interesting flavors, but I ended up picking the Japanese Mango Kumquat Green Tea with honey boba. The barista told me that it was a great balance of sweet and tang, and she was not wrong! Great refreshing taste with just the right amount of sweetness. And the boba was chewy and deliciously honey flavored. Partner got the Vietnamese Coffee, which was also right on the money. Strong bold coffee flavor, sweetened just right to balance the bitterness. A+. no notes.

Got a matcha latte with boba and it was amazing!!! I love that they have nondairy milk options and I love that you can adjust the sweetness to your liking!! The portion sizes are so good too esp for the price!!

Got the austin signature and the thai tea, both had really good flavor and boba quality. However it is a bit pricey. I would say the austin signature is good but nothing special; would not order again. Service is very easy, can order in person or there is a convenient ipad which I like. Seems like a place a lot of vietnamese locals come to which made me happy. They play some BANGERS here. But the music do be kinda loud just fyi. Nice ish place to study.

we tried the G1 Hong Kong milk tea, 50% sweet light ice and G5 Ohara Oolong milk tea with honey boba 75% sweet light ice. We loved everything -- the strong tea flavor, the milkiness, and the sweetness. Everything was just right. The varieties of teas are on the counter for you to sniff. Everything is made with fresh loose leaf tea. Cute Japanese seating. Ten out of five stars.

Solid matcha latte but not the best I've had. It hit the spot for the craving though. M 7.5/10

The Boba pearls I felt could be more chewy, but the drink had good flavor. We ordered from a kiosk, so the staff didn't really greet or interact with us and I feel that could've been improved. Bold that or something (not just us either, other ppl did the same thing but just walked out again) We ended up just ordering and the boba itself was just okay. The service was really odd. I was kind of excited because it seemed to be pretty authentic boba, but after looking at the menu and asking questions I realized it was just a facade. The swirl milks are just strawberry milk. The boba is also just so so. When I asked if I could have my drink hot, the cashier replied with "yes the boba is in a warmer". I didn't have the energy to explain so I just accepted it. However on the upside the space is pretty nice to study. They were so empty the entire time I was there. There wasn't a single table that was occupied for the 4+ hours I was there.

So, I was telling a friend I was looking for a very good Boba place. She suggested CoCo's, and I got the directions. Imagine my surprise, it was next door to a place I go to regularly. I wondered why I hadn't seen this cafe before. The inside was so cute, it had a playful side and a lounge nighttime side, if that makes sense. I can see being here at night. I bet this place is very busy at night. It actually was busy when I was there. I tried to take my pictures away from people. I ordered the Honeydew Smoothie with the Tapioca Pearls. I have to say those pearls stood out. I never had pearls taste so good; they were so tasty and chewy. I was actually stirring my straw, moving the pearls around to get a lot of them at once to come through the straw. Now, granted, on its own, the pearls were coming through, but I think I got a little greedy. I also noticed there are food items on the menu. I saw more than a few entrees I like, and some I want to try. I want to dry the Rice Ball, Fried Tofu with Peanut Sauce, and more. There's so much here to try, and I can't wait. The question is, how did I not know about CoCo's?!
