The drinks are better and service was fast. You self order on the kiosk and pay. Then staff will call out your name and you pick up your drink and go. It's a small shop but it's perfect to grab and go. There are limited seats and tables there. We ordered: Coco Kumquat with honey boba 4/5: it's exactly what it is for the name of the drink. Very kumquat forward and it was refreshing. I added & grass jelly to it. honeydew smoothie with honey bob 5/5 I usually don't like smoothies or milky drinks but this honeydew flavor was so good and it wasn't milky. Perfect balance! Really cute boba place, they have a nice tatami area with seat pillows nice for bigger groups. I tried the Hong Kong Milk Tea, Jasmine Green Milk Tea, Strawberry green tea, and Austin special. Their milk tea I found better than the other ones, but everything was pretty solid. Their boba is good, one note is that they don't do adjustments and I found some drinks like the strawberry green tea was a bit sweet for me. Overall would be back to try some new flavors if I'm in the area. read more

This is a tentative 5 stars off the back of both visiting the other location and thoroughly enjoying their Thai tea and feeling like it would be unfair to dock a star for ordering something slightly more out there in terms of the sesame milk tea. The sesame milk tea was still genuinely good, just not as good as the Thai tea I had previously. Will be giving this specific location another try once I'm back in Austin and updating my review. Every time I come here, my experience gets better and better. I like every drink I've tried. So far, my favorite here is the Creamy Milk w/ Grass Jelly (Coffee Flavor). Soo yummy and fresh. Also, the service is great. They are always friendly and efficient. I love the cute decor and the cute little sitting area where you have to take off your shoes. I've been to Gen years ago because I was attracted to the beautiful picture of the artichoke drink with the pandan leaf, agar boba, herbal jelly, and chia seed. My trip in 11/2024, the cups are no longer plastic so I can't admire the beauty that is the composition of this drink and it does take away that experience for me. It's located in the Chinatown area of Austin and there are so many food and drink selections in this center. This shop is always consistently busy and I love the selection, albeit, I've always ordered the artichoke drink. Parking is plentiful so no stress there. read more

I saw that this was a recommended boba shop for getting work done, so I came here to study with a friend. I got the Japanese mango kumquat green tea, which was so tasty and a perfect level of sweetness. It costs $0.95 to add honey boba to an already pricey drink, but the drinks are large and you can tell they are of high quality. The staff were kind and helpful as I chose from their vast drink menu. There is wifi, outlets, and really beautiful decorations. I adore the origami paper crane tree. There is a really cute shoes-off lounge area with sunflower decor. It was at times very quiet and also sometimes very noisy when we came on a Sunday afternoon, but I enjoyed studying here. There is plenty of parking in the Chinatown plaza. read more

Popped in after having lunch in the area. It's a cute boba shop with a pretty large menu of options, ranging from fruit teas to milk teas, smoothies, and more. Service is quick and casual as most boba shops are - order at the counter and pay, and they'll call you when your drink is ready. I was in the mood for a fruit tea drink and opted for their "Austin" tea drink. It had a variety of fruit flavors in it from syrups, so the sugar level isn't adjustable, and honestly it had a pretty bad aftertaste because of that. It sort of tasted like cough syrup and had that gross, fake fruit medicinal flavor. I was not a fan of the drink, although the boba was perfectly chewy and good. If I ever revisit I think I would opt for a milk tea drink or definitely try something else. read more

The Iku Matcha Latte has a pretty strong tea flavor which resembles green tea more than matcha in my opinion, but it was really good! The Durian Smoothie tasted representative of Durian and wasn't too sweet. Taro Ube was golden. Super yummy with the taro chunks throughout. Honestly such a great combination. I ordered the Japanese Mango Kumquat Green Tea with 75% sugar which was honestly such a great decision. The drink came out perfectly and tasted very refreshing for a hot summer day in Texas! The boba overall is really chewy and soft which is the texture that I like! Drinks solid and would recommend! VIBES Vibes are super cute. They have this area (not sure of the formal term) where you can sit crisscross on the floor. There are also tables as well as benches. Plenty of room and spacious. I did put light ice as an option and it did not feel light and I wish I could have controlled the sweetness level on this one. I like a boba place that has a focus on quality teas versus a place that has focus on toppings. With that being said, I frequent Gen Bobabee every single time I go to MT Market. They make all their teas and drinks fresh. I never see them use any powders from the durian, avocado, grapefruit, orange, everything is made with fresh ingredients. You can also adjust your sweetness level, like really. 25% is truly just a subtle sweetness. This is my favorite boba spot because they're consistent every single time. They are always figuring out new drinks and flavors and Lunar New Year the give out red envelopes. Favorite fruity drink is the passion fruit yogurt (not Yakult) drink.
