Great coffee/breakfast place. The time to prepare your meals and such was a bit slow but it was worth the wait! Small inside so might be hard to get a table. For a place that "specializes" in vegan and vegetarian food, you'd think they'd at least know what animal rennet was. They had never even heard of it! They then huffily admitted that they didn't know if their cheeses were actually vegetarian. The food itself was tasteless and disappointing. I ordered a burrito and they prepared it by microwaving the filling, microwaving the tortilla, and putting it together. Save your money. Go elsewhere. read more

I want to love this place as their food isn't half bad, it's not great/mindblowing.. it's just good. My favourite item in the menu is the breakfast wrap and It's just the service is ultra slow. Expect an eternity and a half for you to get that wrap or any order though. I had an hour break in between appointments and a friend of mine asked to meet me but she'll be late because she's still at the hair salon. The sad part is, I recommended going to Coco's and that I will order in advance because by the time she will finish (30 mins later) thats when the food will come. The funniest part of this story, she came later than 30 minutes and the food was still not ready.............. Maybe just be a bakery or something, the baked goods are great! read more

I came here because it was recommended for vegans. I had dinner and a breakfast here and both were very disappointing. We had the dinner on a Saturday night when they have their sushi night and wasn't impressed by the rolls. They don't have gluten free tamari sauce, but had some other gluten free soy sauce, but reading the ingredients (sugar, soy that's not labeled organic or non-gmo), I skipped it and it also made me wonder if the tofu they use here might be conventional GMO tofu, too. Breakfast was even more disappointing - horrible tasting coffee, tiny scramble portion that was missing the hash that it was supposed to come with and not only that, but it was sooo dry. Hands down, the worst tofu scramble ever. I wanted to like it, but sadly I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

We popped into Coco's Cafe (July 2018) while we were camping in the area and weren't overly blown away by our experience. My husband and I are somewhat limited in our foodie options being that we have to find celiac friendly locations so when this place came up on Google we thought it would be a good fit. The atmosphere is very hippie chic with local art contributions on the walls and a very eclectic vibe which can be great, done the right way. Everything inside is very aged and worn, including the kitchen. Age isn't necessarily a negative, but overly worn and unclean is. The utensils in the communal bins were spotted and some were dirty, so I'm not sure if the dishwasher wasn't working correctly that day (or maybe there actually isn't an automated dishwasher at all). The kitchen was messy and appeared to be unclean from the areas we could see. The food was okay, not great. Taste and appearance were like something you would find in a low budget cafeteria. Portions were small, and ingredients looked cheap. Imagine a college student making a full breakfast while trying to stick to a minimal dorm budget, that's the meal we had. The upside was that we didn't get sick which was the one win. Normally we enjoy cozy little unique places like this, but this visit was underwhelming. It wasn't terrible, but in a tourist location like this there are many other options that might be more satisfying for your dollar! read more

Had the Huevos Rancheros breakfast, coffee and an orange juice. The fresh squeezed orange juice cost almost as much as the meal. Still the the food was good and honest. Went for breakfast. Food: okay, not great. Some kind of strange details, like the fact they don't provide jam for the toast - I went up and asked for some and got some strange runny jam in a ramekin. We tried this for lunch. Staff was friendly but not really interested. The ordered 'grilled cheese' (croq monsieur) were warm and tasteful. Small portions. The cappuccino came in an cold cup so was therefore not hot. The extra soup was a bit weird and the ingredients were not clear to taste. It needed some salt and pepper. Restrooms are strange because you have to walk trough the 'kitchen area' which not looked very tidy or clean.. We should not go back if we visit Jasper again. read more

Yuck. My family and I are not picky eaters at all. I never leave bad reviews but this was a terrible experience! There weren't very many customers, so I expected our food to be quickly prepared.. especially that there were at least 7-8 workers/ employees. We waited sooo long for what simple food we ordered. My sister, mom and I ordered wraps and my dad ordered a simple toasted bagel. My brother and his wife ordered something else. So we had a huge variety. It took about 30 minutes, and on top of that, the food was not great at all. The water was room temp, and the food had hardly any flavor, and by the time we all finished eating, we all felt sick and super heavy. The wrap I had was tiny, which is perfectly fine, but I don't understand how it made my stomach feel so heavy and yucky. Another un-pleasant thing was that the cafe was soooo tiny and crammed. Everything seemed very filthy and un sanitized. Not sure how they pass health inspections. I also spotted a few of the workers being un-sanitary. One wiped her runny nose with her hand as she was preparing food. The other had very loose, frizzy hair that looked like it can easily fall in food. And another constantly had her while lower back exposed.. everything just made me lose my appetite. I do NOT recommend coming here. Save your money for somewhere else. read more

We went here twice. We planned to go to the Bear Paw prior to the second visit, but after waiting in line for over half an hour and a really lackluster menu, we found ourselves back at Coco's. First of all, they have almond milk. Unfortunately the mochas kind of sucked. The first day we had the groomer's breakfast with gluten free toast and the urban sombrero. Both were a generous portion, enough for two meals each. The second trip we had the gluten free breakfast bagel and spanakopita. Sadly, the spanakopita was just a tiny two and a half inch square that really left much to be desired. The wait was also extra long the second day, despite much fewer customers in the cafe that day. I would recommend this cafe but perhaps it's one of those places where it depends on who's working that day... read more

Told 5 minutes took 20+ went to see whats going on and saw they were sitting around instead of working on it, they started when I reminded them we were waiting for our food, eventually they brought it out to us then told us to go inside to get the cutlery for it... EVERYTHING gets microwaved, rice in my teriyaki tofu wrap was hard, food not worth it. I love the salsa it's spicy with a bit of sweetness. Not worth your time. The service was very, very slow. At one point, we thought they had forgotten about our order! The music was terrible, and the atmosphere made us want to leave. The tables weren't clean; I had to use the drinking water to wet a napkin and wipe off our table. The throw pillows on our bench looked like they have seen better days. The entire gay & hippy vibe of this place was unpleasant. They weren't wearing gloves while assembling our food, or anything. This place didn't seem very clean at all. The only reason we came here was because they were still serving breakfast after 11:00 am. (We drove into Jasper at 5:00 am, and needed to catch up on out sleep.) The food was ok, (when it finally arrived), but I think the atmosphere ruined my appetite, because I couldn't finish it. The husband had a pulled pork grilled cheese that was pretty decent, although his strawberry & blueberry fruit cup consisted mostly of soft & spent blueberries. They did not look appetizing at all. I had the scrambled eggs with herby potatoes & multigrain toast. The potatoes weren't that great. The toast came already buttered (what if I wanted to butter it myself?) The scrambled eggs were alright as well, but all in all, I don't recommend coming to this place, and I'd never want to come here again. read more

This means it takes a little longer - but it also means that the person who brings you your tasty food often has just finished fixing it for you. My wife heard about this place while visiting Jasper. Having very strong vegetarian tendencies the both of us, it seemed like the perfect breakfast spot in town. The place is very small, and seating is extremely limited. I dislike eggs, so going back and forth through their menu, I realized I had only a bunchful of options. i was hoping for some oatmeal -a staple of breakfast, or so I thought- but to my surprise there was nothing like that on the menu, aside from a couscous creation of theirs that frankly did not appeal to me. I ended up having a bagel and cream cheese, and ordered with a side of fruit (consisting of mainly apples and grapes). The variety in the fruit side was lacking, but at least the bagel was decent. My wife had an egg dish that had a hash-brown-esque appearance, which per their description on the menu was "loaded with veggies" but she struggled to find a few scattered pieces of peppers and onion in her whole dish. I can tell she was expecting better of her breakfast as well. The icing on the cake was my drink. The girl at the cashier told me while ordering that one of the varieties of tea available was mint, which I decided to have. To my surprise, what was served to me was some hibiscus-tasting tea with a hint of mint. It was definitely a surprise to my tastebuds, but not in a good way. Service was rather uninterested, staff did not even smile at us. For the price we paid there, we definitely expected a better experience. I had the ginger tea and the coconut whatever cookie they had, and soon enough I needed a toilet very badly. One of my terrible days after I left this place, as I also had a flat tire on returning to my car, so I had no way to get to my hotel room and I don't use public washrooms where it involves sitting on a toilet seat. I am afraid to eat/drink here again, except as a controlled experiment with guaranteed transportation to a private toilet if need be. read more
