In April, 2025, due to the excellent previously provided in 2024, we decided to upgrade the heat pump in another unit that we own, and immediately contacted Lawrence Air Systems in Seekonk for our project. We installed another Mitsubishi Energy Star certified heat pump. Once again, I need to call out at least the following: Ray Martin; David Briganti; Christine Glazier; Installers-George and Matt. I'm sure that I am missing a couple of names, but you know who you are. Everyone worked together for a very smooth installation, at least from my viewpoint. I still cannot believe the balancing act performed with the actual air handler installation with just two men working very hard to lift the unit carefully into place. This was an upgrade to an older heat pump that still had some life left in it, but we wanted to get the newer, more efficient, quieter heat pump that we could rely on for many years to come. It was particularly important for us to get the new line set installed, as others in our condo complex have used other companies who reused the older line sets with soldered joints that ended up leaking, causing them great additional expense and discomfort. Our philosophy remains to do the job correctly the first time, and thereby minimize future problems. Lawrence delivered on all fronts. We feel that they offer great value overall, and we would use them without hesitation in the future. We did sign up for the service contract for 12 years. We want our systems to be only serviced by people who installed the system, are Mitsubishi certified, and have all of the records from our installation.

The job was to replace the old burner in my 1939-vintage American-Standard Ideal No. 8 residential boiler. I have a high level of confidence in the old boiler, but for other contractors I contacted, it was a new boiler-or-nothing proposition. I wouldn't bite. Jay assessed the job and was willing to tackle it.  He pulled out the old Mid-Con (now Midco) Lo-Blast Economite gas conversion burner (installed in the '60s and still in great shape except for an irreplaceable Honeywell solenoid gas valve) and installed a new Carlin unit.  Jay made a keen assessment of my level of interest in the job and explained the project thoroughly, including new safety features required by code and/or common sense. I was impressed by Jay's work and his work ethic: He was on-time and his estimate was on-the-money. Moreover, he is a gentleman--a darned rare commodity these days! I owe him thanks for my rehabbed heating system.
