This could totally be personal preference, but I actually felt like in terms of the proportion of the beef and sauerkraut, the beef could be a little bit more. But again, totally personal preference. The beef portion was still substantial. The people they're working were super nice! Small place but very good sandwiches. My mom got "the best BLT" she'd ever had and a brownie that she loved as well. I had the salmon sandwich which was a warmed version of smoked salmon, onion and Swiss on a little baguette as well as a mango banana smoothie with coconut water. My dad had a turkey club that he loved too. Love all around. The sandwiches look on the small side but they're filling. Mom only had half and dad who usually can clean up leftovers was too full to have it so we took it out with us. Nick and Georgia were so friendly and sweet. They're worth a trip in just to see them. Update: My mom (who is pretty picky) loved this place so much, we ended up coming in every day during our stay. Pretty good! I don't know if I would consider it a Boston must see but after walking the city and craving a great standard sandwich this was paradise! They have sandwiches on the menu that sounded delicious but they are more than accommodating to customize it. We added milkshakes which were a little runny for my taste but were a treat none the less. The service is friendly, fast and you could tell he is a local who knows his patrons. My boyfriend insisted that we come here for the green monster ice cream when I was in town, and I'm so glad we did! The portion size is huge so it's more than enough to share. It was also the most incredible mint ice cream I have ever had. The mint ice cream comes with cookies and cream and chocolate swirl. It's the perfect level of soft and such a great treat to bring to the park across the street! The customer service here is incredible, and they were so friendly to both of us. They also recognize my boyfriend so it was really nice to feel so welcomed in a new area. I went a second time and the cookie dough ice cream was so great as well! The cozy shop is located on a corner. If you're in the mood to sit there, there's seating available. This place is amazing and the old reviews should not be taken into consideration at all. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Upon ordering with a ton of modifications to my sandwich the cashier prompted me to take a look at a cheaper option that he could adjust only one thing for and save me some $, always appreciate that!! The Rosemary focaccia was heavenly. I would have returned for the food alone, but with how kind and wonderful the staff was (run by a mother and son duo) this will easily become a regular stop. I've come here twice now and both times, by the time I brought my sandwich back to the library (maayyyybeee a 5-10 minute walk), the sandwich was already not very warm and the bread soggy. Taking bites into my sandwich (a Code 5 turkey + swiss + carmelized onion).. I just felt like the quality of the sandwich wasn't that great, and the ingredients just didn't taste that great. This place is my husband's go to place for smoothies. The person here now recognize my husband (ha ha ha). We were too lazy to cook anything and this place is at a walking distance from our home. I ordered blueberry, strawberry with soy-milk and protein smoothie. The smoothie tasted delicious- no ice added and just fresh. You can pick two or three fruits from the board which includes banana, mango, peaches, etc and choose your base - orange juice, cranberry, milk, etc. My husband ordered Code1 panini- cheese and tomato. Sorry for the ugly pictures but forgot to click the good ones. They have great variety of paninis as well. Reasonable and no waiting. The decor is very very casual and minimal. I had been used to coming here for ice cream. While getting ice cream, I became accustomed to the amazing people working there. One week, my sister was away and he gave us an extra ice cream free of charge to take home for her. Today, I was quite hungry and decided to get a meal from here. Very worth it. For $10 I got the pasta, garlic bread, and a salad. When I got there he asked me if I had an umbrella to got home. Food was good, I'm definitely going to get it again. All said and done, $10 for a very filling meal to some of the nicest people is well worth it, I highly recommend going if you get the chance. read more

I am a sucker for a Reuben sandwich and so far around Boston area the best Reuben I had was the 2nd Street Cafe in Cambridge. I want to give a quick review for the service. I needed to send a cheer-you-up treat to a friend of mine in Boston. I live in NY and decided to see if there was anything better than a pizza that could be delivered. Thanks to Yelp I found Code 10, who not only had several delicious looking items on their dessert menu and could be ordered directly though Yelp, but their service was great! I needed to change the name on the delivery, I called and that was no problem. Then, I realized I made a mistake. As the delivery man, Jose, called to tell us he was at the door, my friend revealed he was at another address! Thank goodness Jose was a friendly guy and he drove a mile down the road to the right place. I can't speak for the food, but I can say the treats did seem to cheer him up! I ordered the bagel with cream cheese and salmon. First of all the bagel, was soft, had the right amount of flavour. Entwined with cream cheese was just gorgeous. Maybe a little to much cream cheese but I'm not complaining. The salmon was a good serving. The whole bagel was not on the rations portion. in my quest to conquer the neighboring food areas i trekked here through pre-hurricane irene rains to this place. The only thought in my head was that this place better be worth it. First thing i saw were the patries. Damn did those look good...I restrained myself though. It was lunch time! not snack time. Anyways, i got the Code 2 panini and my sister got the california sandwich special? I think thats what it was called.. My panini consisted of caramelized onions, swiss cheese, chicken, and some other stuff. It was pretty good although the chicken was a little bit dry.. ( the cheese and other flavors kinda offset that so..no complaints.) My sister said the chicken in her california sandwich was a bit dry also and that it was overall a bit salty. Id go back to this place because of its acceptable prices, proximity to my apartment, and for its good selection of sandwiches.
