Codex is the Fine Mexican Dining Restaurant at the Conrad Punta de Mita. It's a lovely restaurant that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, offers fantastic food, amazing drinks and over the top service.
Started with:
TUNA - Yellowfin tuna (100gr), housemade corn tlayuda chips, wild herb mousse, sea asparagus, artisan chorizo sauce. It was delightful, fresh and simple.
My Main Course was:
TOTOABA FILET - Roasted totoaba filet (180gr), parsnip puree, agave beurre blanc, escamole prepared and serrano pepper on the side. A tender white fish with a little sweetness in the puree. It was my first time trying escamole, which I found to be a little sweet & a little smokey. Overall - I would order it again!
Dessert:
MEXIQUE CHOCOLATE - Chocolate Cake, chocolate-lemon mousse, mexique cacao chocolate crème brulé, gluten-free chocolate cake, lemon sauce, and lemon grass ice cream. The acid in the Ice Cream was off the charts, almost too much.. until you hit it with the chocolate. This dessert was divine!
The servers take immense pride in their role. Nothing was left overlooked, and needs were anticipated! Combine ALL of that, with a setting that is second to none.. I would highly recommend! read more
