Amazing food and even better people! I had such a great experience at Coffee 30. The food was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and served hot even during a busy rush. What really stood out to me, though, was how well the entire team worked together. You can tell they truly care about each other and about the customers. I was especially touched by how kind and patient everyone was with their special needs staff member. It's average food... I think most visit the place due to the atmosphere, bar and outside seating. I find that most of the dishes offered don't match the price whereas others exceed. It's subjective to taste I suppose, the small potatoes that are the side with most are at times dry and lacking flavor depending on how long you have to wait on your food. Some dishes are over seasoned whereas others lack taste for the price. The variety of coffee offered is really a nice thing. All in all it's a 4 out of 5 for me. The wait at times are pretty long to be seated and then the wait on the food can be quite long. It's not the people who serve there that's the issue in that situation it's the amount of people that are there ... its stays packed, I believe it's due to the difference in places to eat around the area personally. The coffee is delicious and the food is wonderful. This place is highly recommendable; however, prices are a little steep. So, just be prepared to pay a pretty penny. My husband and I had breakfast there one day and it cost us over $60. We weren't expecting dinner prices at breakfast time, but unfortunately that's what this economy has come to. I had the hot honey chicken biscuits with country potatoes, and they were full of flavor and just the right amount of biscuit to tame down the heat if spice isn't your thing. My husband had the boudin Benedict with country potatoes which he thoroughly enjoyed and said were full of flavor. We also had an order of beignets that were fresh, hot, and delicious. The coffee was delicious as well (a white chocolate raspberry frappe and a southern pecan cold brew with sweet cold foam). All of the staff were very kind and attentive. I had the Chicken Lake Charles and potatoes with sharp cheddar, and my wife had the Hit The Snooze sandwich and potatoes with tomatoes and onions. The béchamel sauce on mine was amazing, the chicken, bacon, and well-seasoned potatoes were crispy, and the eggs were a perfect over medium. The biscuits were soft and buttery with a hint of saltiness that I found irresistible. My wife's sandwich was quite good as well. There was a good amount of tasty ham, the croissant looked to be very fresh and buttery, and her potatoes were also crispy and well-seasoned. They are a coated with a generous amount of confectioners sugar. Coffee:30's version was light and hollow. I want some more with my coffee this morning. I am aware of the increase in prices everywhere, but I was still shocked that a basic breakfast sandwich with artisan slices was $8. Then a side of "homemade potatoes" cost $5.99. The lavender latte was excellent though but added a bit to tye bill. Still don't think I'll return after spending $19.78. Don't have photos of potatoes, but they were small and not very fresh. On February 26, 2026, I chose this restaurant for breakfast, as we had been regular customers when it was located on College Street. I ordered the Alarm Clock from the menu, but the meal was disappointing. The sausage had an unpleasant, game‑like taste, and I could not tell whether it was plant‑based or another type of meat; a standard brand such as Jimmy Dean would have been far better. The scrambled eggs were acceptable, but the coffee was extremely poor in quality--offering a simple cup of Community Coffee would have been preferable to the "fancy" option served. The prices also seem higher, and it feels as though the cost of the new building is being passed on to customers. The food and service at the former College Street location were noticeably better. I even gave the sausage to my dogs, and they refused to eat it, which speaks to the quality. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant; Southern Spice, Eggs Up Grill, or KD's provide a far better dining experience. Never again will I dine here. read more

This was my second visit to this spot for breakfast, this time spurred by Restaurant Week in Lake Charles. They had some special offerings on the menu that I saw posted to their Facebook page, so I decided to stop in for a sample. I elected to eat the Heat & Sweet French Toast Sandwich, a delicious combination of smoked ham, fried egg, Swiss cheese, and pepper bacon jam, all on French Toast topped with liberally applied powdered sugar. While I waited for my meal, I enjoyed the Café Mocha that they prepared rather quickly. As I waited, I noticed that another table had issues with their order, and the server was one of the most polite people I've encountered in some time. This person was apologetic, but offered to make things right in a number of ways. I was astounded at the manners presented by this young individual, something that is not a familiar sight in most establishments these days. Aside from the fantastic service, the food was good.
