The Village Coffeehouse is a small town coffee shop located near several schools and the local hospital. I was vacationing nearby in Texas and made a trip here on a winter morning based on a recommendation I was given. I've become an avid coffee drinker over the years and as I travel to different parts of the world, I would always make a stop in local coffee roasters and shops to imbibe on what they have to offer. The location here appears to be in an ideal part of town and attracts the target clientele. The interior decor was minimalistic but aesthetic. I ordered the "jitterbug" as it sounded interesting and new, along with a blueberry muffin and a brownie for my siblings. The young blonde cashier stood still and hesitated for a moment while taking my order so I repeated myself in case she was not fully awake. I was then ignored at the counter when requesting for napkins after receiving my drink. I enjoyed the "jitterbug" but couldn't stay for long as I began to drown in the gaze of everyone in the cafe (the customers as well as the staff). I left not because I cared; I just did not have the time nor the patience for whatever was happening. However, I do want to give a proper shout out to the one guy working there who helped with making my drink and answered my questions about the coffee - he was a genuine human being. Upon leaving the establishment, my experience ended with being blatantly ignored a second time as I held the door open for someone. All of which was witnessed by my younger sister, who was with me at the time. For what it's worth, I actually liked The Village for its coffee but it should be recognized that customer service also plays a pivotal role in the food industry and as a respected Asian American nurse with multiple degrees and serves the country she was physically born in, I don't know if I can ever get used to the Southern hospitality (or in this case, the utter lack thereof). I've come to understand that sometimes human behavior stems from limitations of education and cultural awareness so I'm not assigning blame to anyone in particular for the experience that I had. All I would suggest is for those that want to try their coffee, maybe opt for the drive thru or if possible, avoid this place altogether. Based on my full experience: Jitterbug: 4/5 Service: 1/5 -------------------- As reviewed by my siblings: Brownie: 2/5 Blueberry muffin: 3/5

The atmosphere is so cute and aesthetic. The people are so kind and caring. The coffee is amazing as well as the burrito! Highly recommend.

Chill vibe in the place. Service was helpful, they explained things and helped me decide what I would like. Food was outstanding. Worth a visit

Enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Had an avocado toast, couple of smoothies and a mocha latte. Good stop on the way to Houston for us.

Terrific wonderful family owned coffee shop and bakery. Brick walls give it character. Drive thru or outdoor dining along with comfortable seating indoors. So nice to see a great shop in a convenient location with service you can't beat.

I can't say enough about how great this local coffee shop is. Working in the area for a few days, I passed it on my first day on my job assignment. Having seen no other coffee shop as I drove in, I decided to stop and see what they had. Result: I was in the area for four days and I stopped all four mornings. The drink menu is as varied as other larger chain establishments yet this place has a local feel with the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. They made everyone feel welcome while serving top notch food and drink. In a historic building, the interior is spacious, well lit, and just seems to fit the feel of the building. They have a rewards program, open earlier than most people wake up, and serve a great hot coffee. Oh yeah! They make cinnamon rolls that rival those from Disney World's Gaston's Tavern in size and taste (look those up if you don't know). Do yourself a favor and stop by!

I was very impressed with this place! I am EXTREMELY picky with coffee and got their sweet cream cold brew and it was delicious. I also got the garlic cheddar biscuit, this did not disappoint! I ate the biscuit separate because it was a good. A bit pricey but worth it!

Super cute atmosphere. I will be back for more coffee and blueberry scones. They have almond milt for those with milk allergies.

Very much enjoyed the village. Their beans are very good quality, the room wasn't too loud, and the employees were very kind and helpful.
