Such a cute shop! Almost missed it because it's in an alley. It's very cutely decorated with plants and pink/green themed items. I had the matcha white chocolate muffin and the chocolate chip sea salt cookie. My favorite between the two was definitely the muffin! They heated both items up and the muffin fell apart after so I was nervous, but it turned out to be really good! You could definitely taste the matcha. The muffin was also really moist and crumbly at the same time; haven't had a vegan muffin that's tasted as good as this in a while! The white chocolate chips weren't too sweet, so this was appreciated. The cookie fell apart very easily so it was hard to eat/hold when hot; it was fine when cold but the cookie was very grainy. Flavor wise, it was a pretty standard cookie, nothing crazy. I'd definitely come back for the muffin and to try a croissant. The latte came with oat milk as standard - yay for no extra charge! This 100% plant based location really spiced up their vegan drink and food menu. Their avocado toast with just eggs are to die for as well as all their drink options. I landed on the pink matcha, what caught me eye was the "pink" came from beet powder! Super interesting and innovative. While I was waiting for my latte, I was really taking in all CAP had to offer. I love their whole beans you cans take home with you, their really cute merch, and of course their flower wall. Each seat in the house gives you an aesthetic of being in a French style green house. I enjoyed every second of my visit as well as the unique matcha. It was different enough but with the same comforting flavors of a matcha. This review is based on my experience with my gf. Sonny: Rose bowl latte 4/5 - this was very gimmicky, I believe that anything plated up or in a drink should be edible. This cold brew honestly shocked me cause of how much I was getting for such a reasonable price, the citrus notes with the bitter brew combo is always hard to execute well but this place just knows how to do it! Not a lot of seating in the shop which is expected and not really a turn off since there's tons of seating outside the shop, and if you come here just be ready to wait a bit longer than usual. This place is always constantly packed and can lead to extended wait times since the baristas are taking their time crafting these drinks to the best of their ability! 11/2/22 Since we're picking up auntie at the Keck Medicine of USC-Pasadena, decided to check this place off my bookmarked list. It is TINY, cute-ish boutique of a coffee shop in Pasadena. It can possibly seat 6 customers inside & a couple of tables/chairs outside. As per usual, hubby ordered the oatmilk latte & I decided to try their chai latte. The oat milk latte was lackluster, tasting mostly of oat milk. My chai on the other hand was delightful. The aroma of the chai spice was delicious. Cute little cafe (that I believe is vegan?) nestled in the middle of Old Town Pasadena. My friend and I met here for brunch around noon on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy at all. It was Presidents' Day weekend though, so it's possible that many folks were out of town. We both weren't super hungry so we decided to split an avocado toast. I typically don't order avocado toast, but this was one was pretty good. I'd recommend not waiting too long to eat though as the bread is on the softer side and can get a bit soggier with the avocado sitting on top. Overall, not sure if I'd go out of my way to return given the array of cafes in Pasadena, but I'm glad I gave it a shot! read more

I stopped by here to pick up a quick coffee to go with my lunch, but I wish I had time to stick around for the ambiance. It's a small but cute shop, filled with plants, ofc. There was outdoor seating as well. The coffee itself was super tasty. I got the Zion cold brew with a splash of oatmilk - it was perfection. I was surprised because I don't usually like citrus flavors in my coffee, but I highly recommend trying this combo if you like cold brew lattes. Such cute seasonal drinks and the staff was really nice. For an all vegan coffee shop, I enjoyed everything we got. It is a bit pricey, 2 coffees and a pastry was $22, but all vegan places have elevated pricing. This place is tucked in Miller Alley off Union Street and is such a vibe. The best vegan restaurant in Pasadena! This little hidden gam is tucked away in the back of the plaza across from iPic. The storefront is decorated with many live plants and is hard to miss! Upon entering you will be greeted with a plant wall as a back drop for your insta. If you are into vegan food can still come for influencer photos I am not vegan but this is one of the best brunch food I've had in LA. The portions is generous and priced reasonably. As a plant lover & coffee fan, I really wanted to like this place. The store itself is cute but there aren't very many real plants & the ones they have are very overpriced. I expected more from a coffee and plant shop. I ordered a chocolate chai with espresso & oat milk. It cost me $9 which I think is very pricey. I couldn't finish the drink, it was not good. I love a good chai but all I could taste was cloves and no other flavor. It even overpowered the chocolate. I gave up drinking it and felt like I wasted my money. I also bought a sea salt chocolate chip cookie for $5.95 & I was so disappointed. I also couldn't finish it. It had an odd taste to it and hardly had any chocolate in it. What an awesome hole in the wall cafe! Located in the cute little alley in old town Pasadena next to iPic and Sushi Roku, this little coffee shop has a nice tranquil environment, with lightly pink decor, and very clean ambiance. The location is fairly quiet and there's a comfy cushioned bench along the wall opposite the ordering counter. Along with small round tables for drinking coffee, although it may be too small for serious studying; it won't hold a laptop and textbooks, but it seems like a nice place to read a book or catch up with friends over drinks and a dessert/pastry. The staff were also very kind and helpful, gave me great advice for my drink order. I ordered the 24K Charcoal Latte and my friend ordered the Pink Matcha, both hot. They were delicious. I will admit to liking the charcoal latte much more. I asked for the charcoal latte hot and less sweet with oat milk. It was just the right balance of sweet and creaminess with a nice hint of charcoal texture. Will definitely be getting the 24K charcoal latte more in the future, hopefully will not get gold toxicity :-D The pink matcha was also quite good, but it is sweeter and has a distinct note of rose flavor which is great if you love rose, it's not quite my passion so I'll leave this info for you to consider. Parking is convenient in the public parking structures around Old Town Pasadena. The closest one is probably the one on De Lacy between Colorado and Green streets. If i recall correctly, it is $1 for first 2hrs and then $2 for the hour after, i forget how much it costs after 3hrs. read more

I've wanted to try Coffee and Plants for a while; seeing pretty photos was definitely a selling point. This trendy coffee shop is located below Cafe Santorini in Old Town Pasadena. I went there on a Tuesday around 730pm. All outside tables and a cute bicycle were already brought in (they close at 8) so I knew I have to be quick to order. The drink - I decided to try their famous 24k Charcoal Latte. I got it hot, with oat milk and decaf. I'd gotten a fast heartbeat after drinking it so not sure if it was made a decaf. The receipt didn't specify decaf too. Besides, I didn't like the taste of this latte. It seemed that the charcoal powder was not finely mixed in. Not worth $8 even though they didn't charge extra for oat milk. The service was just okay. The girl who made my coffee used her bare hands to shake off the charcoal powder into a cup - no good! The decor is very nice and I'm sure it looks better during the day. They have cute cacti for sale as well as other plants, shirts, cups etc. I may give it another try but will have to go during the day and order something more basic. read more

This place is such a gem. You'll be welcomed by a nice aesthetic in front of the store. A bike adorned with flowers, a wall of flowers for photo background, nice outdoor patio to enjoy your coffee. Inside were various plants that you can buy or simply adore. Also available for purchase are some gardening books and accessories. My friend and I both had brewed coffee, one with and the other without cream. I also had a pastry which I hastily devoured without the customary pic. No doubt, Ambience was really good. It makes you want to bring your music and friends to just chill in the shop or outdoor on the patio. The atmosphere is so simple yet so cute. I work very close to Old Town and frequent a lot of the local coffee shops and restaurants here. I have been to Coffee and Plants a handful of times with coworkers, but today's visit left me very disappointed. I stopped by because they were offering BOGO free for Labor Day week on select drinks. I opted for the cold brew, and I specifically said "I'd like the Bogo deal cold brew coffee" when I ordered. The worker seemed rushed, took my order and charged me for a large. When the drink came out it was only 1 drink, so I had to specify again that I ordered the BOGO deal. The guy proceeds to take the large drink, and splits it into 2 smaller cups, adds ice and hands me my "Bogo free" drinks??!! Literally with me standing right there. I paid for the large, and he didn't honor the Bogo promotion they had. I work in retail and really strive to make customers' experience a positive one, but this service was so unpleasant - almost like he was trying to get out of making me another drink and honor the promotion. I really really loved this place! The coffee was SO good and the staff were all kind and friendly. This is a plant based/vegan cafe and the food was also delicious. They had muffins, pastries, avocado toast and some vegan croissants to choose from. I ordered the Orange Chai bread and their monthly coffee special and both were really good. The only downside of this place was the parking. It's in downtown Pasadena so all parking was metered or pay to park in a lot. We eventually found metered parking but had to circle around quite a bit to find a space. They also do not offer wifi and there weren't many seating options so we ended up moving and finding seating near the outdoor mall nearby. read more

One of my favorite coffee stops in Pasadena! It's so nice to have vegan-friendly high concept lattes like the Chocolate Cherry Bomb and the Super Food Latte. I'm also tickled that they have Chagacinno.. my iced drink obsession of 2021. It gets busy and the online ordering system is a bit of a bust when it is - we got a "your beverages are ready" text and they weren't. The pastry spread is amazing - as are the toast options - Just Egg, Avocado! As the name promises - plants. The shop is filled with plants and plant-related merchandise. I walked away with a little green and yellow one and they're thriving in my kitchen. Street parking really isn't a possibility, there are two large structures across the street I would suggest using. So I do not drink coffee or caffeine so I opted for the iced hibiscus tea unsweetened and it was so good! Super flavorful and refreshing. My friend got the rose tea and she absolutely loved hers as well. They have a cute little photo wall which I thought was a nice touch. You can eat inside because there is a small amount room eith some tables and chairs. There is also seating outside as well. I'm sure their coffees are just as good as their teas.
