    Black Coffee
    Michael T.

I first wanted to try Unicorn Coffee sometime in late March, and I visited at 5pm on a Sunday. But, the store was closed even though their hours were listed as open until 6pm. This was a complete bummer, and I decided to try again a second time on Sunday, April 12 @ around 3pm. This review will focus on that second visit. I walked in, and was notified that they only had black coffee for the day. This was a bit disappointing because I wanted to try the other drinks I saw on their menu, but decided to just go through with the black coffee. Brewing method was drip coffee, and it came iced. I'll note what's interesting was that they were already making a drip coffee before I came in and ordered, and that drink was given to me as I was paying. Taste wise, the coffee was actually really good. It was smooth & not bitter at all. I really enjoyed it, but did think for $10 it was a bit expensive. I definitely want to visit again and try their entire menu if possible, but unfortunately their current store hours & my usual coffee drinking times (in the mornings) aren't matching up. Plus, it's a long drive to Pasadena (darn commute!). Hopefully I get a chance to be in the area again soon.

If you're looking for fresh coffee & cozy vibes, you'll find it at this charming little shop in Old Town Pasadena. Incorporating an "East Tea Meets West Coffee" philosophy, Unicorn Coffee offers specialty coffee drinks and ceremonial grade matcha beverages. They also carry popular Chinese snacks. The vibe is welcoming and the décor provides plenty of photo opportunities. Smiley faces greet you at the entrance and the outside patio is adorned with purple & pink, which aligns with the Unicorn theme. I intended to treat myself to one of their signature Unicorn drinks, but it was cold & rainy and I wanted something warm instead of a beverage with ice. I ordered the Caramel Latte and soaked in the ambience while barista Bella prepared my beverage. She was genuinely nice, as was the man who took my order. A few minutes later I was on my way. My latte was just what I needed. Smooth & creamy with notes of expertly roasted coffee and hints of caramel. When the weather warms up, I'll be back for one of those iced fancy drinks. *Metered street parking or nearby lots.

My coffee date - he's cute but kinda quiet lolll XD

Cute new coffee shop in Old Town Pas with unique drinks, a sleek aesthetic, and a fun unicorn theme! Service was friendly and efficient. My rose latte was decent but I'd likely try one of their more unique drinks next time like the Unicorn Poop latte lol. The Rose Blossom Latte has rose black tea, espresso, and milk with a small amount of cream on top and some rose petals and green powder (not sure exactly what it was lol - it had no flavor). It had a nice rose flavor profile and the cream was slightly sweet. I got the drink at 50% sweetness which was perfect for me - I don't like a lot of sugar so I'd stick with this sweetness level. The rose petals were an issue for me - usually they're soft and velvety and I like them in my drinks. But these were sharp and tough and not really chewable. They didn't seem fresh and had no flavor - I wouldn't want these again. Based on all the previous photos I saw online and on Yelp I was expecting it to be a little more elaborately topped and was hoping for a cute marshmallow animal topper but I didn't see any of that. It was just a standard drink. I learned later through reading reviews that you have to ask for the marshmallow animal topper for an extra $1 - which I would've happily done but it isn't on their menu anywhere so I wasn't aware :( Prices are on par for the area and I think the drinks are good quality overall. The decor is cute with unicorn statues on the wall and nice window seating looking out onto a main street in old town - great for people watching! They also have some snacks and puddings available and a few croissant options on their menu. The shop has a main entrance with a small spray painted sign next to it - would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it I think. There's also another entrance in a courtyard next to a hotpot restaurant. Both doors are covered in colorful painted smiley faces. There's metered street parking and several parking garages in the surrounding area and it's very walkable. I'd likely stop by again for some Unicorn Poop next time in meandering around Old Pas!

Stopped by Unicorn Coffee in Pasadena the other day and loved it. Such a cute and bright spot on green st. I got the Unicorn Latte which was creamy and lightly sweet, and my friend got the unicorn poop which was just as good. The staff were so kind, and everything was really easy and chill. It's a smaller café and not much seating available inside, but there are a few chairs outside. It's perfect for a quick coffee and catching up with a friend. Definitely a happy little find!

#164 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. Unicorn Coffee is a fairly new addition to Old Town Pasadena, and was opened by a popular Chinese social media influencer, Mr. Unicorn. I hadn't heard of him before but after looking him up online, I learned that Mr. Unicorn is known for wearing a signature unicorn costume head in all of his videos, and he has more than 50 million followers across various social media platforms. Strange, yes, but cool nonetheless. The shop itself is a creative space with giant unicorn heads on one wall illustrating the famous see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil proverb. The rest of the shop is charming and elegant, with modern wood benchlong tables and comfortable velvet cushion chairs, ambient lighting that gives the shop a warm glow, and a counter that is covered with wooden slat paneling, adding a nice contrast to the white fluted wall. The space has a nice contemporary aesthetic, other than the giant unicorn heads on one side. Lol. Outdoor seating on the side patio is also available. I've tried a few drinks so far. Their headliner drink is the unicorn latte, specially crafted with a house-made corn milk and corn cream top. Tell me why it took me so long to realize they chose the corn flavor to be their signature latte because it's LITERALLY in the name, uni-CORN. I facepalmed when it finally clicked. Haha. I also tried their Unicorn Poop latte since I found the name hilarious. They actually have a sign saying they know the name is ridiculous, but if unicorns poop, it probably smells like roses and tastes like magic. They definitely had me with that caption! The latte had a butter flavor with a hint of vanilla, and tasted a bit like popcorn. I didn't love this one, but I didn't hate it either. The last drink I tried was the Unicorn Blood, which is a sparkling grapefruit refresher with espresso. They even top the drink with popping candy that sparks like little fireworks in your mouth - so cool! All in all, there are some interesting and creative drinks here at Unicorn Coffee, and I can't wait to try the rest. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Oolong peach milk tea - very milky

Ambiance is super cute, bright with instagramable decors. They have a few tables for sitting but it's a very small place. Staff were friendly and helped me decide on a drink. I got the oolong peach milk tea which isnt one of their top 8 drinks. The oolong and peach came through nicely but the dairy/milk was extra creamy and milky. If you like that then this is place is for you! For the price to size ration, it felt short for me. I'll try a different drink if there is a next time.

Friendly service and very unique coffee and tea drinks. New tea and coffee shop on Green St with nearby public parking lot on Green St/Fair Oaks Ave and De Lacey structures. There are some counter seatings and they may share some patio space with the hot pot restaurant next door. Definitely check out their special drinks such as Unicorn and peach tea latte. They will offer a drawing to their customers each month roundtrip tickets to Chongqing where the owners are from along with a 3 night hotel stay so people can experience Chinese culture through tourism. The shop sells Chinese snacks and coconut jelly too. They will have a cute unicorn tail to sprinkle sparkly sprinkles on your Unicorn Poop drink! The speciality drinks are very cute with animal marshmallows on top.

If you wanna ride, then ride the white horse! Take a sip of their drinks and let the caffeine take its course! But first a little buzz kill B4 I start spittin my caffeine thrill. On a Saturday afternoon they ran out of the Number One which is the Corn Latte! Like WTF that's your best seller yo. Anyways I'll just let it go and let a Ho be a Ho. So instead I ordered the NO.2 which was the Unicorn Poop that came with a pretzel on top of a delicious cream top mixed with espresso. It was actually pretty good and it changed my mood but not the star. Next up was their Jasmine Blossom Latte. Ok this Shh was Fire! I rarely get floral drinks but this one blew me away with its subtle hint of Jasmine and that kick of espresso on the bottom. I'll definitely be back for that and explore more of their menu. The service was great and I'm gonna say if they're all trained like that then it's a go all the time. Limited seating and the parking is too unless you pay at the nearby garage for parking. And that's my take, Peace

I stumbled across this new coffee shop located in Old Town, and wow I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed it! First off, it's an adorable little shop located off cozy Green St. There is some seating facing the avenue, which is great for people watching while enjoying your drink or just working out of. Secondly, I was completely stumped by what to order because of their unique menu. The team member at the front recommend the peach blossom latte and wow, it was so delicious! I was surprised at how much the tea and coffee both came through. It was smooth and not overly sweet. Everyone who worked there was so warm and friendly. I will definitely be back to try their other drinks!

Instagram : @yeapeats Just visited this adorable new coffee shop that recently opened in the old 3CAT location -- and wow, what a fun and unique vibe! The place is fully unicorn-themed, which definitely sets it apart from anything else in the area. It's colorful, whimsical, and totally Instagram-worthy. The staff and owners were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the Unicorn Coffee -- a popcorn-flavored brew (yes, popcorn!) -- and it was surprisingly delicious. Bold, not watered down, and really hit the spot. Excited to come back soon and try more of their creative drinks!

Cute cozy space tucked in Old Town on Green Street. If you want to try something unique, you can't go wrong with Unicorn Coffee, I mean you can literally spot unicorns! While unicorn poop and unicorn blood were tempting I opted for the peach tea latte which had an initial hit of peach, very subtle and not overpowering. Even though it was full sugar it was not very sweet which I liked.

The crisp taste of well-brewed coffee and chai is refreshing. (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment. Also, this is a "Laptop Free Establishment." Two Kids (South Pasadena) is located across from South Pasadena City Hall. There's a competitive, free lot in the rear; it's a "4 Hour Parking Limit." Also, there's available, competitive free street parking. Staff is very mellow, professional, and respectful. Staff politely answered all my questions, and Staff felt very low stress. This location is surprisingly popular, and Staff easily breaks into friendly conversation. My drink took about three minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Espresso w/ Milk & Chai ($6.75 - Iced). The drink is very underwhelming, but it's 1000% better than any chain coffee joint. The Espresso w/ Milk & Chai had a light enduring caffeine, and its flavor is very basic and simple. I would not drive a long distance for these drinks, but if I lived in the immediate area, this business is an easy spot to incorporate into a daily routine. It's affordable and good enough. On ambiance, Two Kids (South Pasadena) happily embraces its "just good enough" features. It lacks many basic amenities; there's no restroom, no customer internet, and no electrical outlets. They proudly have MANY little signs proclaiming how it's a "laptop free establishment." The location is also small; there's about two counter tables and three tiny stool tables. However, Two Kids (South Pasadena) is comfortable. I especially appreciated the air purifier and the strong ventilation. The place felt airy and refreshing. Also, the stereo system is very clear and with chill music. They even had one tiny bottle of hand sanitizer by the counter. It's also very animal friendly since I saw customers walk inside with their dogs on the leash. Overall, Two Kids (South Pasadena) feels built to serve the local community. It's not an impressive spot, but there's glimpses of passion for locals. If you live nearby Two Kids (South Pasadena), I recommend. It's not bad at all. 4.3 out of 5

The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture.
