    Sea Salt Oreo Mini Cake
    Jacqueline P.

Cute cafe - when you walk into the doors, there are 2 kiosks you can order from. Once you submit your order, you grab a number. The drinks were served to us, but we had to go to the counter to pick up our dessert. There are a lot of cute cakes/desserts and drink options. I wouldn't say the drinks were the best, but pretty average. All the cakes/pancakes were so cute. I would come back to try more. We ordered the sea salt Oreo mini cake. It tasted more like an Asian roll cake. Not too sweet but I didn't taste much sea salt. Plus- clean restroom available for customers Parking: street parking or lots around. The closest parking garage is on De Lacey next to the miniso.

I've tried crepe cake before and they're usually pretty bland. This place is spot on!! The lychee rose one was soooo tasty and actually tasted how it was supposed to! The blueberry cheesecake one was good too. The drinks are leaning a little too sweet but I'd mention less next time. Staff is a bit odd, they don't acknowledge you at all even when they clearly see you until you call out or fetch their attention. I wish it wasn't so awkward lol. Anyways great crepe cakes, i'd come back.

Still love this place very much! Always have to try a new flavor or new drink. Their drinks are always so refreshing & their soufflé pancakes are next level.

    A selection of cakes!

This cafe is making its rounds on social media and I was asked to pickup something here on the way to a social gathering. So prepare for long weekend lines. Usually this is a bad sign, been burned more often than not. Decided it was probably unwise to travel with a souffle style pancake, so opted for their other offerings. Fruity, chocolatey, full tea flavor in the selection we got. Definitely passes the ever sought-after asian standard of "not too sweet". Goes great with coffee or tea! The cream topping was pleasant.

Super tasty, light/fluffy/giggly souffle-like griddle cooked packages. Ordering from the kiosk was a breeze and very convenient. There's minimal seating inside but plenty of small tables and chairs outside. We ordered a drink each and shared the pancakes. The drinks came out very quickly. My husband ordered the Orange Tea with Jasmine Green Tea Jelly and I enjoyed that Gardenia Green Floral Tea with Matcha Mousse and Matcha Mochi. The matcha mochi added a nice soft chew texture at the bottom and the Matcha Mousse left a melt-in-your-mouth feel. The Mango Sunshine Souffle Pancake was devine! The pancakes aren't too sweet, but the mango puree and cheese mousse brought a creamy sweetness and the fresh fruit added provided nice pops of bright sweetness. Super well balanced.

I like this place! Perfect spot to have a snack after shopping. There are 2 kiosk in the store. Or you can also order via app. The soufflé was yum. Very light and fluffy. Bathroom can use some attention. Staff was friendly. Quite a few tables indoor and outside. Staff was kind enough to put our soufflé on plates for dine in even though we ordered via app. I would come back again. There are other crepe cakes on the menu. Would love to try those in the future.

First time trying motto tea. It was nice to order through a digital kiosk. I always get intimidated with what I want. At least with a kiosk I can play with the add ons. Overall it was a nice refreshing drink. Matcha tea with less sweetness. This is a plus since you can change the sweetness of it. There's plenty of outdoor seating and it's in the shade too. Stopped by here after my visit to Japanese BBQ. Needed caffeine to get me going after a large meal. Recommend checking out this place if you're in Pasadena.

Always amazed by the flavors and how delicious everything tastes! The service is good and it's easy to order. Wish their AC worked better it would make sitting inside better.

Was feeling the fluffy pancake craving and thought I'd try this place. I'd seen it before when visiting a game store nearby. Was not disappointed! The pancakes were less than traditional, drier than usual, but very tasty and wonderfully less sweet than expected (I'm not a cloyingly sweet person). Out of the nutella and creme brûlée, the creme brûlée was my favorite. The teas were fresh and delicious, the staff weren't especially attentive, but that's not a deal breaker. The ordering system (IMO) is inefficient and slow, which is probably 75% of the wait time. I can imagine it gets crazy during peak times, so plan carefully!

Visited Motto Tea Cafe and had such a great experience. They have so many options for teas, plus yummy pastries and snacks that all looked tempting. I decided on the Matcha Jasmine Latte with boba and it was very good ..super smooth, flavorful, and honestly delicious. Their matcha is definitely worth it, and as you know, not all matcha is the same. Overall, really enjoyed my visit. Worth stopping by if you're in the area and craving a good tea!

First time having Soufflé pancakes. Gotta say this place is absolutely delicious. Very clean establishment. Fast service. Everything was delicious. The establishment is cute. Seating is limited. Parking is great. Lots of UNDERGROUND parking. We ordered the Pork Sung and salted Egg yolk soufflé pancake. It was so fluffy, light, creamy, salty but little sweet. It was perfect. It complimented the taste of the cream mixed with pork sung. I highly recommend ordering it! I would definitely recommend if you come to San Gabriel come visit this place.

So good!!! The strawberry shortcake soufflé pancakes were to die for. Can't wait to go back to explore the crepe cakes as well. Side note - very quick service.

First of all, I feel terrible for the poor picture quality because it does not do these cakes justice! I bought several cakes to bring over to a friend's house and they were a huge hit! All the cakes were rich and creamy but also light. Most importantly, not too sweet! The perfect sweetness for Asians lol The black sesame roll cake was actually a hit amongst the kids. Ordering with the kiosk is easy and the service is pretty fast. They have lots of outdoor seating too so we were able to sit outside with our dogs while we waited for our order. Will definitely visit again to try their teas and pancakes!

So we were able to kill time until then! Located next to Honey & Lavender, parking lot available in the back, not that small! Once seated, we got to order the California Benedicts and the Country Fried Steak. It actually didn't take too long for our order to arrive, which we were surprised they are very quick and efficient with service! Although, the food was very underwhelming. California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page? Maybe it didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen or a cart full of dirty dishes bc I just kept smelling that as we were eating.

Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.

When I ordered a matcha, the employee asked if regular milk was okay, and I said oat milk was fine. However, I was never informed that oat milk was an additional $1 charge. I only wanted to spend around $5-$6, so I asked if I could get a small instead. I was surprised to see that the price was still the same. When I asked why, she then explained that oat milk was a $1 up charge and she didn't charge me on the large order for oatmilk. I don't mind paying the extra dollar, but I feel customers should be informed about an additional charge before being charged for it. Also, if getting a large was actually the better deal, I would have appreciated being told that. What made the interaction more frustrating was that the employee seemed distracted and dismissive while her coworker was talking to her. I ended up getting the small, even though I was confused about the pricing. The matcha itself was good, but unfortunately, because of the customer service experience, I don't think I'll be returning. I don't expect anything special--just clear communication about pricing and to be asked what size I'd like before being charged.
