    Horchata latte extra cinnamon
    Chris N.

I love the allure of choices here at Coffee and Tea Traders. From Ube, Horchata and even Pandan latte all of which you can get here and they are all so good. Customer service is a little bit of a different story. They lady there doesn't want to take orders and summons you to use the kiosk. If it wasn't for the service, I'd come here everyday to get my coffee. Lattes here are 4.0 but service here is 2.0. So 3 overall.

    Pandan Matcha Latte (Soy Milk)

I'm always on the hunt for a new matcha spot! Having the day off, I suggested to my companion we come here to try a new spot and walk the pup. The cafe is quite small and located in a plaza. You can order online or inside on their tablet. The ambiance is super casual and decor pretty minimal. There's a decent amount of indoor seating plus WiFi available. I found the service to be fast considering I was one of the only customers. If you know me, I am obsessed with pandan. I had to try their Iced Pandan Matcha Latte with Soy Milk. I got a regular size but they have regular and large for their drinks. I also love their other drink offerings such as ube, fruits, and horchata. I would love to come back to try them. They also serve pastries and baked goods. My Pandan Matcha was good, very green and the Pandan taste present. Matcha wasn't strong and I could taste the soy milk more. Did the job though! Alameda folks, Coffee and Tea Traders is a nice addition that's different from your chain coffee shops. If I lived closer, I'd come back, especially to try their other drinks. They're also easy to locate in Harbor Bay Landing with ample free parking.

I recently came here during my lunch break for a sweet treat and the drink pics looked irresistible, plus the sun was out, so why not?! The other bonuses were it's only 5 min from work and it's a small business! Working on Bay Farm, there's very little of choices since most things are on Park. So, this was a gem to find! Everything is self-service, you don't even get a greeting. In fact, I barely noticed anyone behind the counter until she got up to make my drink, haha! So, I didn't tip because for what service? I digress. I ordered the ube horchata drink which looked like a smoothie in the picture, but it was iced. It was still delicious and not too sweet. The tables outside are nice to sit while enjoying your drink especially when it's warm out. They don't have restrooms, but instead have 2 doors marked for "employees only". I'm sure if they wanted to, they could turn one of them into a restroom. I tried to come again in the morning before work since their hours say they open at 7AM. I parked and waited 15 min; it still wasn't open. It was disappointing. AND they don't have a lot of hot options for matcha. I 100% would prefer to support small businesses over a Starbucks across the street, but when you have early workers and you don't follow your listed hours, it might be hard to compete. Lastly, if you are a person who doesn't want any kind of interaction during your transaction, this place is for you. Personally, service adds to the consumer experience, but at least the drinks are good. ‍

Vietnamese coffees with strawberry cold foam and sea salt cold foam
    Morgan P.

Amazing coffee drinks! The strawberry cold foam is legendary. I love that you can also order ahead which is critical when you're stopping in the middle of a work day Both drinks I got tasted like desserts- the strawberry one in particular tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry! Their sign is fairly small so you might miss it if you're not looking for it- but it's tucked to the left of Safeway next to a nail salon and sushi place. It's worth a stop- DO IT.

Decided to check this spot out as I was nearby! It's located in a small plaza with Safeway and a postal service right by the water. Lots of parking but if you don't pay attention, you might miss it since it's tucked in. My sister and I decided to get their matcha latte w/ almond milk and I tried their blue matcha coconut latte w/ almond milk. Overall, I do think that their drinks are made sweeter than what I would normally like. Employees are friendly and the space is huge, in addition to their drinks, they do have donuts on display for purchase as well. I wouldn't mind coming back here to try the other drink options, I'll just ask for less sweetness if I can.

Best coffee shop on Bay farm! Variety of different speciality drinks as well. Best is strawberry dragonfuit refresher. Coffee choices are decent. Bagel and cream cheese and breakfast sandwich are delicious. Friendly hardworking staff, especially Henry! Long wait times when busy, can't be in a rush. Plenty of tables to sit inside or out and are perfect place to relax.

Was craving a sweet treat and stopped by a nearby coffee shop! I saw the matcha pandan and immediately ordered it. Although I loved the drink, the pandan definitely overpowered the matcha flavor. It was quite sweet and I personally would prefer it a little less sweet! Very delicious though! I think for the price it was quite good as well. Service was very quick--there's lots of parking too as Coffee & Tea Traders is located in a plaza.

Excellence!!! I suggest checking out their drink menu online before you pull up. They have a ton of delicious looking menu items!! I find the drink menu exceptional. Especially for those who love a variety of choices. I would try something new everyday. I wish I lived closer to this coffee shop! Support small businesses!

Blue matcha coconut latte and almond croissant
    Vi T.

Stopped in for a blue (pea flower) matcha coconut latte and almond croissant. Venue is in the shopping plaza with Safeway and a few other restaurants and a nail salon next door. They seem to have a creative coffee and tea menu that I'd like to try next time. My drink was an interesting flavor combo and prices are reasonable here. They have an online menu to order ahead too. Wifi is also available here, with seating inside and outside.

We needed to get a few things from Safeway and had the Beast with us. While she went into the store, I walked the Beast around the center. Needing coffee, I looked at the website for Traders. Unfortunately, it told me that the next pick-up time was at 7:30 the next morning. I tied the Beast where we could keep an eye on each other and entered the Coffee Shop. Ordering was on a kiosk, which I detest using. I never use self-checkout either. I found the kiosk to be less than intuitive and decided not to continue. A voice asked if she could help me. This is my preferred way of doing business whenever possible. I intended to order a Large Iced Mocha, whole milk with whipped cream (for the Beast) and a Mango Tango Tea for my wife. I mentioned that the app wouldn't let me order a drink for the same day and she replied that the ordering system for same day drinks shut down at 1pm. I'm not sure how I was supposed to know that but whatever. I paid and kept an eye on the Beast outside while my drinks were being prepared. She pushed forward the Mango Tango first and then a Large Hot Latte. (sigh) Being flustered with the ordering system, I was no longer sure what I had ordered so I kept the Latte. That's usually my drink of choice anyway. There were two straw types available, and I grabbed what I thought was the one with a larger bore. When my wife couldn't get the pieces of Mango through the straw, I realized that I had chosen incorrectly, and they were now closed. My Latte was very pedestrian. Functional but not particularly flavorful. She mostly enjoyed her Mango Tango Tea, especially the fruit and Mango Jelly. I thought it was a bit sweet and could have used more ice. Would I return? Probably not. Service was perfunctory and not particularly friendly or inviting. Maybe it was because it was toward the end of the business day.

    Vietnamese Salt Coffee

Solid coffee spot! We came here on an early Saturday morning, so it was quiet and peaceful. This was my first time in the area and I loved the beach town/coastal vibes. There are tables and chairs inside and outside the shop. The back door leads to the harbor/dock, which has a magnificent view. I loooove Vietnamese coffee and this place offers a variety of options. I got the Ube Iced Latte Vietnamese Coffee ($6.65), subbed oat milk (+$0.70). I really enjoyed my drink. There was a good balance of ube and coffee, and the sweetness was perfect for my taste. My brother and cousin got the Vietnamese Salt Coffee ($6.65) and Vietnamese Iced Matcha Latte ($7.45), respectively. My brother thought his drink was slightly too sweet but otherwise liked it. My cousin really liked her drink. I took a sip of it, and I thought the combination of matcha and coffee was really good. We also ordered the Breakfast Burrito ($11) with avocado (+$1.50). It had cheese, eggs, and bacon in it. I typically like my breakfast burritos with potatoes, so I was a little disappointed to see none. However, I still enjoyed the burrito. It was nice and warm, a good little breakfast for the morning.

***4.5 STARS*** After a good night's sleep, my pseudo sibs and I woke up early the next morning and wanted to grab some coffee. We've stayed with this sibling before in the past and it's customary for us to walk over to Coffee and Tea Traders (CTT), which is about a 15min walk away from her house. Located in Harbor Bay Landing with neighbors of Safeway and Anytime Fitness, CTT is a locally owned business that serves an array of hot and cold drinks plus a variety of sandwiches and baked goodies. As mentioned, we've been here a couple of times and pretty much wanted to get a cup of Joe but several of us were hungry, so we pursued the menu on the wall and ordered away. The menu is nicely posted on the wall and their baked goods and bottled drinks were nicely arranged in their chiller. I was still somewhat groggy with the time difference now that I was in a different zone, I really wanted to go back to sleep. I was thirsty so I ordered an unsweetened iced tea and shared a breakfast burrito with my buddy. After paying for the food, we went outside and waited at one of the tables outside until we were called. VERDICT: Overall, we enjoyed the food as we gobbled everything up. One of my pseudo sibs shared with me her ham and cheese croissant and it was delicious. The croissant was toasted nicely with tasty sliced ham inside. The breakfast burrito was impressive as it had a generous portion of eggs inside. There were also avocado slices, cheese, and smoked bacon that permeated my mouth with each bite. It was delicious. My tea was just okay - - it wasn't anything special. The tea was brewed dense enough where my drink had a notable essence, but I wasn't really a fan. Tasted borderline medicinal? My friends really didn't comment about their drinks. Two of them got hot coffees and one got iced Thai green tea that was pretty to look at. I had no idea Thai green tea existed. Overall, my recent visit to CTT was above average where I wouldn't mind coming back again. Hopefully text time I won't feel that groggy so that I can sample one of their bagels and pair it with the iced Thai green tea.

Although I haven't tried many of their drinks, I can say that their matcha latte has been consistently good. Today I ordered one with almond milk and the matcha flavor is nicely balanced. Good ratio between matcha and milk. The matcha itself tastes pretty well rounded - not bitter, but also not too subtle in flavor. I probably got the matcha here like three times and it has not failed me yet. My partner really enjoys the Malasada but they can sell out pretty quickly. Previously I've tried their Ube Crinkle and their donuts and they were pretty good as well. This time, I wanted something a little less sweet and small so I tried the Bibingka which was great! I love mochi and the Bibingka had a mochi texture to it. It comes with some pineapple bits which I tend to avoid, but my desire to try something new overrode that today and thankfully, the bits were small. It's a dense little bite, but I enjoyed it! A perfect little bike treat. I don't get much interaction here with the workers since it's such a quick stop, but it's okay. I think depending on what time you go, it just gets really busy and employees are just trying to chug out the orders. We'll be back again for those delicious drinks and pastries though!

I was really disappointed with my recent experience ordering a birthday cake from Crispian…read more I ordered a cake for approximately 30 people and was quoted $98. The associate hurried me through choosing the flavor and asked how many people I needed to serve, so I trusted that the cake would be appropriately sized and finished. While I thought $98 was on the expensive side, I was willing to pay it because my previous experiences with Crispian had been good, and the cakes had looked beautiful. Unfortunately, this cake was a completely different experience. My husband picked it up on the day of my celebration. When I opened the box, I was immediately surprised by how small and plain the cake looked. There was absolutely no decoration, and the inscription was done in very thick chocolate writing that had nothing to do with the flavor of the cake. The lettering honestly looked rushed and very poorly executed--something I would not expect from a professional bakery, especially for a $98 birthday cake. I called Crispian right away because I was genuinely shocked and disappointed. The only resolution offered was 20% off the cake. While I appreciated that they acknowledged my concern, I felt that a 20% discount was a poor solution given the quality and presentation of what I received. What made this especially disappointing was that I had ordered from Crispian before and had been happy with the cakes. This experience did not come close to what I expected based on those previous orders--or what I would expect for a $98 cake. For a special occasion, presentation matters just as much as taste. Unfortunately, this cake fell far short of the quality and value I expected.
