I visited San Leandro for the first time with my bestie to go for a walk at the marina in between rainy downpours. Afterwards, we decided to get some boba, and I wanted to try a spot I'd never been to before, so my friend looked up some spots, and we settled on Kittea. Since she had her pup with her, she stayed outside, and I ordered tor both of us on the in-store kiosk. I got her a jasmine milk tea and myself a passionfruit tea with pearls. I adjusted the milk tea to 50% sugar but was informed the fruit tea doesn't have added sugar so can't be adjusted. I'm not sure how it's made here, but it was still quite sweet and flavorful, and the boba was the perfect level of qq. While waiting for the teas to be made, I snapped a photo of some cute cat plushies lounging on the window seat. The shop isn't very big, but I was the only customer at the time, so it was cozy but not crowded or cramped. I would come again if visiting San Leandro again. read more

I was craving matcha and found this spot on Yelp, so I decided to stop by on a whim. I had high expectations since the reviews were high. When I arrived at 4:30pm on a Sunday, there were no customers. It's small with limited seating and there was no AC so it was hot inside. I ordered a matcha with oat milk, and I like that the matcha was not grainy and the milk didn't overpower the tea. The drink was good, but I can't justify paying $11 for it. I think that's the most I've ever paid for a matcha. They also have specialty drinks and snacks that looked intriguing. I'm glad I stop by to give it a try. read more

Came here a couple times in the past few weeks while we were eating lunch in the surrounding area, and I was not disappointed! I feel like this location has gone through many businesses so I hope this one lasts! My order: large iced jasmine milk tea for $6.50, 50% sweet Pros: - easy walk-up to the kiosk or at the register - parking lot available behind the shop (which for certain hours you do have to pay) - Pretty quick service, less than 5 minute wait - Pretty broad menu with some more unique drinks that some boba shops don't have, if you come with friends who don't like tea. also has matcha - jasmine milk tea was pretty bomb - The kitty cup sleeves are so cute ! and keep your fingers from getting wet from condensation Cons: - LOL there's an uneven floor surface that I somehow trip over every time, even though it's caution yellowed already (don't be a clutz like me) - not really a place you can "sit and hang out" in the boba shop perspective - only 2 small benches inside that you can wait for your drink at, but you're better off sitting on the benches outside in the surrounding area or taking a walk with it read more

Order at counter or on kiosk to left of counter. Single barista handled order taking, creation of drinks & serving same. One person ahead of me. Got my drinks in 5ish minutes. Offerings: Specialty tea drinks, milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, coffee, toppings. BOGO effective early Nov. Sips: Matcha Latte (10) -had a mix of "ceremonial matcha" & whole milk -didn't taste any matcha flava. Would skip next time. Large Kittea House Milk Tea (6.50) no charge -had nice chewy bobas. Dropped by for the first time a couple weeks ago during their soft opening and the girl behind the counter was super nice and welcoming. No one else was inside, so I ordered a banana latte and she started making it right away. The menu here isn't large but they have some unique drinks I don't often see at other boba shops. I also love the cat theme in their branding, which even extends to the cute boba cat neon sign in the window that they added on my second visit the following week. The prices are pretty reasonable too, with almost every drink ranging from $5.25 or $5.75 for a small to $6.00 for a large. The most expensive drink is the banana latte at $7.50 (just my luck, but it's worth it). I ordered the same drink both visits and was happy to see that the quality and taste were consistent. It was just as delicious the second time as it was the first and wasn't at all overly sweet. Just the right hint of banana added to smooth coffee with a rich, deep flavor. I definitely plan on finally trying one of the other drinks, I just have to pry myself away from the banana latte (if there's a banana drink or dessert on a menu, I'm buying it). It helps that this place is so close to my house and the girl behind the counter is always so pleasant to everyone who comes in. Cute little boba shop. Easy ordering via kiosk. Or if you prefer live person to take you orders. Ended up getting the bingsoo slush. It reminded me of the red bean drink at the Hong Kong cafe and I really enjoyed it. My son ended up with the coco mango dream, it was more coconutty than mango but still enjoyable. We also got half strawberry cheesckae waffles. It smelled great while being made, wasn't too crazy about it. Maybe it was the strawberry cream for me... Definately be back for the drinks. read more

We're rooting for this place! The first time we came in, they sampled out their Thai Tea and it was awesome! We ordered two drinks and we loved the flavor and the boba! Only questionable thing at that time was there was waaaayy too much ice in there. Fast forward and several trips later, they seem to have addressed the ice? Yes, we do order less ice now, but it doesn't seem like it's a full cup of ice like before. Drinks still taste great and the people we bring here enjoy it as well. However their boba seems to be very inconsistent! I think it depends on the hour you arrive, but some days there's great boba, some days the boba tastes very old. We will be back but hopefully the inconsistencies will be brushed out on our next visits. I'd love to adjust this review to a 5! read more

Really enjoyed Kittea Cafe. There's a parking lot behind the building that's usually not busy, which makes stopping by really convenient. The drinks are great and there flavors you usually don't see at other cafes. I got the Bingsoo Slush and it tasted just like bingsoo. They also have quite delicious cookies with unique flavors. Inside is really cute with available seating. On top of that, the service was great, very efficient and the vibes were warm and welcoming. Excited to come back and try more of their menu! read more

Kittea Cafe is located in downtown San Leandro. There is a shared parking lot behind the shop or you could try your luck with street parking right in front or on the side of the shop. I have been to the last two boba shops that was here as well and it looks like they stripped all of the decor from last shop because it was a bit plain and simple inside, unlike the other two. It was pretty quiet on a weekday afternoon, so I was able to order and get my drink pretty quickly. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. My milk tea was alright - it was a bit stronger on the tea and tasted a bit like a black tea based milk tea instead of a green / jasmine tea based milk tea. Overall, I wished my milk tea was a bit creamier and that it had less ice, as I felt like my drink was more than half ice. read more

Cute little boba shop in downtown San Leandro! I went during their soft opening and was able to take advantage of their Buy 1, Get 1 deal. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, and the store itself was really clean. They had a kiosk you can order from, or you can also order from the staff at the register. My favorite of the drinks I got was the Pink Punch, which included watermelon balls that I could eat while drinking, and it was overall really refreshing! I also got the Soda Cloud Slush which tasted like candy, and the Matcha Latte also tasted great! I noticed they used a really good quality matcha powder, no "fishy" tasting matcha here! I also ordered the Bingsoo Slush and Brown Sugar Milk Tea for my family, which they also really liked. Highly recommend to anyone in the area! read more
