    Vietnamese ice coffee

Stop by here for authentic Vietnamese ice coffee after breakfast next door. This is hands down the best Vietnamese coffee in Oakland. Unlike other places that serve cups 2/3 full with mostly ice, they actually fill your coffee to the rim.

My husband and I enjoying trying out different Viet coffee's and this place has hands down one of the best viet coffee in the area. They don't Make it too sweet with the condensed milk and the coffee is strong. The coffee flavor is still strong even after the ice melts a little. The only thing I would say about this place is that its CASH ONLY. Which not everyone carries cash now a days that's why I gave it a 4 star but overall such amazing coffee.

Let me start with saying that I am a fan of this place. The homies and I stopped by on a wolfing down a couple banh mi sandwiches at Ba Le. I suppose we needed to a coffee pick me up afterwards but really, we were curious to see how old Asian guys kick it on International Blvd in the middle of the day and wanted to experience this firsthand. Sorta depressing in someways but I will spare you my sociological rant... We all ordered their $3 Vietnamese iced coffee which was strong. I felt like Mario picking up a super star. This is a great place to grab and go for a quick caffeine boost during the day without going to, say Starbucks or Peets. If you so choose and have the time, hang out, stay a while, and play a couple rounds of Keno or take your chances with some scratchers. All the cool kids are doing it.

Never want to go here again especially the owner treat the customer like shit. The wife is nice and kind but the husband don't know how to talk, he said he doesn't need no customer at all, he open out his business but he doesn't need customers then who else does he sale. the owner had no educated, well I guess my last day there never in my life to go back there again. I paid $5 for my orange juice and also bought lottery there.I saw a lot of time happening to other peoples but today it happened to me. Life still going on but for sure that Da Huong coffee shop will not last long.

Very cool shop. Vietnamese coffee shop selling lotteries. A local hangout. People hang out all days playing scratchers and gameboards. Always feel welcome here. Lol.

Lottery tickets and scratchers in all forms....with a side of delish hot Vietnamese coffee.

I love how random this place is. Lots of local Vietnamese folks hanging out, watching tv, chatting it up.....and they sell lottery tickets?! Lol. The woman at the counter was cheerful and full of smiles. I've had Vietnamese coffee in Vietnam and it's pretty delish here!! FYI: the price for the coffee went up to $4, but it's worth it!

I'm forever grateful for that recommendation because they make some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I've tried a few items on the menu, but the one I always recommend is the Hot Italian. Everything about this sandwich is incredible. It's packed with flavor, and you can honestly tell it was made with care. I usually pair it with a bag of chips, and the total comes to around $18. It's absolutely worth every penny and always leaves me full and satisfied. The shop is consistently clean, and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming. I find myself going back over and over again, then telling myself I need to take a break--only to end up back there a few weeks later. That's how good it is. A couple of things to keep in mind before you visit: there's only limited street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a spot. There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. I highly recommend checking this place out!

The deli is a nice size with a couple of benches to sit and wait for your food. You can look at the menu and order, plus grab a drink or chips. They have a nice variety of items to grab that go well with your sandwich. The service was friendly and quick. Workers were all kind, and we love that it's dog-friendly! Regarding the sandwiches, you can get a hot or cold sandwich. You can also build your own! Companion got the Hot Boy, and I went the Build Your Own route. The sandwiches are hefty, with lots of great meats and fillings, and for the price, very decent! I wish my bread were a bit more toasted and crunchier, but that's my preference. It hit the spot, and I'd be open to trying their other sandwiches. I don't often go to delis, but Brothers Deli was a nice place to try. We enjoyed it by the waterfront, which makes it a great picnic option. Find them off Park Blvd., with street and residential parking around.

It's essentially The Bird, minus the bacon with a couple other minor tweaks, including the softer sesame roll. Usually they just fuck up the bread and forget one of the veggies. I stopped ordering in person at the shop because someone there always ended up being kind of a dick during the interaction - either during the ordering or the pick up - without fail. You don't have to like your customers, but you do have to at least pretend to tolerate them. I'm not asking you guys anything hard. So enjoy my last nearly $19 for the completely wrong sandwich. Growing up in Orange County, I grew up eating a lot of amazing Vietnamese food. So from the reviews, I was hoping that it was going to be amazing. Don't get me wrong the sandwich was good, but it wasn't extraordinary like people have been raving. I feel like the pork was lacking that lemonGrass flavor that it promised. It also did have way too much mayonnaise on it. I did appreciate the fresh veggies and the bread was nice. But overall, it really tasted like mayonnaise. It was lack in flavor that unfortunately, even with all the ingredients it didn't give any. Would it be something that I would order again, no. I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. I placed two separate sandwich orders online through Clover for pickup under my name. I ordered them about 45 minutes before arriving. When I arrived, I showed Maria my receipts and gave her my name. She briefly checked and told me she did not have the orders. The line was long, so I understand things can get hectic, but it did not feel like she was making much of an effort to actually verify the orders. She even misheard my name and was about to hand a sandwich to someone else under a completely different name. At that point, I became concerned that one of my sandwiches might have already been given to another customer. After I continued asking her to check, she somehow found one of my orders in the same area she had already looked. However, only one of the two sandwiches was there. I showed her my Clover receipt again, including the date, timestamp, transaction information, and order details. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she told me she did not know how to use the Clover system and could only search by name. She then told me I needed to contact Clover myself. I was honestly shocked because she was the manager but said she did not know how to use the restaurant's ordering system. When I explained I could not find a customer support number for Clover and asked what she could do to resolve the missing order, her response was essentially, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." I asked how the restaurant communicates with Clover when there is a problem with the system or how they diagnose issues with the device. Again, she said she didn't know and that the owner was responsible for the Clover system. I asked if I could speak with the owner and requested a contact number. She refused to provide one and told me I could come in early on a weekday if I wanted to speak with them. I'm not from the area, so expecting me to make another trip simply to speak with the owner was not a reasonable solution. What made the situation even worse was that I did not receive a refund for the missing sandwich. I paid for two sandwiches but only received one. Despite showing proof of payment and the order details, there was no attempt to refund the missing item or offer a replacement. Whether the missing sandwich was caused by Clover, a restaurant error, or someone accidentally receiving the wrong order, I would have expected the manager to make a reasonable effort to fix the problem. Instead, I was essentially told it wasn't her problem. Mistakes happen. Technology fails. Orders get misplaced. I understand all of that. What matters is how a business handles the problem afterward. In this case, the customer service was extremely poor, and Maria's attitude made the situation considerably worse. I've also noticed other Yelp reviews mentioning similar customer-service issues, which makes me concerned this isn't an isolated experience. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the time to address what happened. Little Lucca might have good food, but good food doesn't excuse poor customer service or charging a customer for an item they never received. I paid for two sandwiches, received one, was not refunded for the missing sandwich, and was given no reasonable solution. Extremely disappointing experience.
