I came to Yelp to add my review because I am completely disappointed and frustrated reading the owner's responses to reviews on Google. Every negative review has a sarcastic or defensive response. The customer comes first? There should not be excuses or snide comments for each negative review, instead a simple apology would speak volumes. I purposely kept my negative experiences to myself after two bad experiences this year because I met the owner a few years ago and she was so sweet. She seemed grateful that I stopped her to tell her how much I loved her place and coffee and could tell how hard she was working. I went there for my coffee every morning for a week that year. As others have commented, it is not the same. I stopped there during the summer the following year and couldn't wait to say hi to the owner again. She had given me a free box of K cups when we first met. I was so impressed. I never got to see her again but noticed that following year that the young adults working were much too interested in talking about their social lives behind the busy counter. I asked if the owner was there and she wasn't. A few of the females had a bit of an attitude when I was waited on and one guy in particular was so loud behind the counter. He never stopped talking about himself and his social life to the employees who were trying to make the drinks for paying customers. There are multiple pictures on here of the same drink (matcha) that are obviously not made correctly. There cannot be excuses for every issue especially when you see the same things repeating themselves. The two times I stopped this year were with my friend in the off- season, there was a male employee who was a very nice guy but everything went wrong. The first time, we went inside. There was NO ONE working with him. We thought he was new and felt for him so we were very patient. Both drinks were wrong. It took 30 minutes to get a few pastries and two drinks. Someone on Google mentioned seeing one person working and it was absolutely true (those times I stopped). He had trouble ringing up a pastry so I bought something else because he was obviously anxious. I felt bad after 5 minutes of watching him struggle at the register. There was no one there for him to get assistance from. We came back months later and figured we would give it another try, this time through the drive-thru. Again, the same guy was working, and both drinks were hot and not iced. He fixed them but the time we spent 15 minutes waiting. I ended up throwing my drink away after 1 sip. It tasted horrible and was nothing like the first year I visited. The responses from the owner on Google tell the customers they are wrong or lying. I really wished things would have improved but I won't go back. It is obvious that the place runs well when the owner is there. The problems do happen and mistakes happen. I hope the owner realizes she is going to lose business by not taking accountability for what is going on at her store. This is very upsetting. read more

The only reason I gave them 2 stars was because the coffee was pretty good. We also ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel and an açaí bowl. The bagel had some weird pre-formed bacon/egg/cheese patty on it, which tasted like plastic and was burnt from the microwave on one side. Ew. The açaí bowl was mostly granola, had some brown bananas on top, but the açaí part was completely frozen solid in the bottom of the container. Not to mention, we were the ONLY people in the place and it took the 2 employees several minutes to even acknowledge us. Such a shame because the coffee isn't bad at all. Waking up Saturday morning me and my sister needed our coffee fix, and neither of us felt like drinking the complimentary hotel communal brew. Coffee Beanery was a place I've heard of before, so we decided to try it over the local Dunkin Donuts, and being a brisk 15 minute walk from the hotel (I needed the exercise) sealed the deal for our caffeine fix. Strange coffee shop as it looks like it was converted from a former bank as the drive through area is a pretty steep ramp. I ordered a hazelnut coffee and accompanied it with a blueberry scone and a cranberry/orange muffin. -Hazelnut coffee tasted a bit odd as the hazelnut flavoring was very sweet which was a bit of a surprise compared to other hazelnut coffees I've tasted. Not expecting the hazelnut's sweetness, by adding my normal amount of sugar, the sweetness factor of the coffee was really off for my tastes. -Blueberry scone was odd as well, as it's texture was more like a cake/muffin versus the biscuit crumbly texture of a traditional scone. Tasty but like the coffee not what I expected. -Cranberry/Orange muffin was average and tasted like something you could buy from your local supermarket bakery for much less. I didn't taste the orange and what I tasted in the cranberry was very artificial tasting. In retrospect the local Dunkin Donuts probably would have been a better choice which was confirmed when I had a hazelnut coffee at DD the next day that was much tastier than Coffee Beanery's. Pretty blah experience overall but maybe I've been spoiled living in the NYC/NJ area where quality cafes/coffee houses are very plentiful. read more

This place was super yummy! The staff were very nice and the coffee was pretty good too! I would give it an 8.5/10. I got an iced caramel latte with almond milk in a grande. The place it's self had an interesting aesthetic with lots of signage to tell you want you can't/can do. Happened to come across Coffee Beanery as I was walking to acme. Stopped in and was overwhelmed by all the menu items. I asked for my normal Starbucks order which is an iced vanilla latte and they came through. tastes very similar to Starbucks which is good because that's what I am used to. For an XL, it cost 5 and change and its 24oz. The place was pretty busy for 9:30 on a Friday. Service was also quick and efficient and friendly. This is across from my bf's place, but never had time to actually stop by until one rainy Sunday during the Memorial day weekend. He still wanted to go fishing (sigh), so I opted for the ride to grab a spiced Chai Latte, which was pretty good. I'd say it was a step above Panera's but still not quite as spiced as Sbux which didnt bother me. I also grabbed a bacon, egg and cheese on an Everything bagel which was pretty good and hot and also not too pricey. I'd definitely run by again as it was cute, convenient and average priced. Space to sit, peace and quiet to read or work.. unfortunately their WiFi wasn't working so I had to use my phone's hotspot to stay and work.
