This place has a very nice ambience and is conveniently located in Delray. It's not the place to go if you actually care about coffee. If you are the type of person who prefers chocolate and raspberry snicker doodle coffee with was shot of pumpkin spice then it's maybe a different story. One the two regulars being brewed today was hazelnut cream. I got the regular, a medium-dark roast coffee that taste like ash and was very bitter. They have a really nice selection of craft beers and some nice looking good items. I would go back but not for the coffee. Unfortunately I don't have a good alternative to recommend in Delray. read more

i was looking for a local coffee shop to be able to sit in and do homework or study when my boyfriend told me about this hidden gem right off east atlantic avenue. it is small inside but they do have a bar as well as a coffee bar where they sell different foods and pastries. there's a couple of couches and chairs to hangout in as well as tables and a bar table with stools that looks out the window. it is a really relaxed environment that does tend to get pretty busy during certain times of the day. it is one of my favorite places to go study and grab a coffee. it reminds me a little bit of the central perk (for all of the friends fans out there). I have seen that they have karaoke although i have never stopped in for it i have heard that it's pretty popular and can get pretty busy. i almost always get the iced vanilla chai which is so delicious i hate to stray away. the blueberry scones are a favorite between my boyfriend and i as well as their chocolate chip muffins. i did grab some lunch their one day as well. i had the garden chop salad but took out the cheese and croutons. it was delicious and there balsamic vinaigrette was a good choice to pair it with. my boyfriend also raves about their parfait bowl. for a coffee shop they have a pretty good sized menu with a lot to offer for everyone. if you're heading down to the beach or just to walk around pineapple grove and east atlantic ave definitely run in here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. read more

Nice decor, clean and comfortable - coffee is full of meh, pastries didn't even look good enough to try. Service was mumbly. Beers look good, I would try this place later in the day when it switches to that gear. Sweet little cafe, open late so you can stop by in the evening for a beer or to work on your laptop. I like the variety of beers and cafe drinks. They offer small bites too which is always welcome! I like the big workbench with the power strip, making it a nice place to study with free wifi. The one improvement I would strongly recommend is making a greater effort to be environmentally conscious - I got my tea and scone to enjoy there but I still got a disposable cup, styrofoam water cup, and bag instead of a plate for my scone until I asked. Also got plasticware instead of reusable utensils. The decor is a little out there, but comfortable. read more

I would really like to like this place. They got the look right. The coffee is strong. Odd hours and I can never quite figure this place out. Grateful Dead and Fox News on the bar TV. Closes when it feels like, as I've been here during posted hours and found it locked tight. Seems more of a hobby than a calling. It's been open for a couple of years, and now, with Subculture gone and Martier more of a full restaurant it stands as the only non chain coffee house in Downtown Delray, at the last mile of Pineapple Grove. The pastry case is sparse and pitiful. They should beef it up. Beer is a big driver of business at night I guess because it's so much of the inventory. Nice enough guy runs it. It just needs soul. Passed this place about a month ago and thought it looked like a spot I'd like to stop in to and then proceeded to forget about it until last Saturday, SO glad I finally made it in....very cool décor, both tables and comfy spots to sit as well....free wifi and delicious offerings! I had a toasted nut frap that tasted like fall up north!! total yum! ....returned again on Tuesday for the "brew of the day" and once again, very pleased! Really friendly staff and just a hip vibe. They also serve a wide variety of craft beers and wine so don't let the name keep you away if you aren't a coffee lover. It's a neighborhood gem - feels much more urban which is welcome to me! One of my favorite local places to grab coffee as I get ready for a day in delray. Every time I come here I can imagine myself living close by and riding my bike over for a small bite to eat. Love the location, so close to pineapple grove and maybe 5 minutes from the beach. Food is always good although I only really get a combination of their scones, and parfait bowl. Both of which I find myself craving more of as I finish. Their vanilla chai tea was outstanding as well and probably turned me on to chai forever. Another really cool thing about coffee district is they're a coffee shop but they also have rotating craft beer taps and different bottle offerings as well. A friend of mine got their kombucha and said they had a pretty good selection of wine ( not my thing). The ambiance is awesome, has big leather couches and a spot for karaoke as well as seating at their bar and on the other side of the store. Lm read more

Sometimes (acutally probably a lot of times) the company you have at an establishment and the amount you enjoy yourself weigh heavily on your opinion and hence your Yelp review. Given that I don't drink coffee this is probably one of those cases. Marisol F. was so kind as to set up a UYE event on a Friday evening at Coffee District. Sounds weird I know, who wants to go to a place called Coffee District on a Friday night? But here's the thing, they have karaoke! I was still skeptical. I read the reviews mentioning an impressive beer offering, but these days I'm not much of a beer drinker...most people say you grow into the taste of beer, I seem to have grown out of it. Not to worry though, Coffee District also serves wine! They have house wines of all the main varieties, for example, they have Pinot Noir, but don't come in looking for a specific one. I arrived around 8 to a friendly group of Yelpers and headed up to the bar...yes they have a bar, in a coffee shop. There is also a register where you can order coffee, they have a few salads and sandwiches, and some pastry items. I got my bottle of wine and settled in for karaoke. I was happy that it wasn't too crowded. There were obviously a few karaoke regulars who put on a great show, but when we wanted to get up there (and let's be honest, make a mockery of the art of karaoke), there wasn't much of a wait. As the night wore on we got sillier, and somehow with all the dancing around to the karaoke songs, I spilled red wine on my beige shirt. The staff was super helpful getting me some club soda and making me look somewhat presentable again. At that point I decided that perhaps it was a sign that I should get something to eat. I ordered a croissant, and was impressed to find that despite the fact that it was the end of the day, the croissant was fresh and delicious, and quite large. Coffee District is a little far from me being up in Delray, and since I don't even drink coffee I doubt I will ever experience it as a morning coffee shop, but I would go back for kareoke in a heartbeat. I will give them credit as this could be a decent place to work from there are a handful of tables and a big sofa. There is also a bar and as previous reviews stated that seems to be the primary function in the evenings. Laid back coffee shop by date and cool beer bar by night, Coffee District is a suplerative model that more should aspire to achieve. What makes them all the more inspriational is that not only do they offer both, but that they do it exceptionally well. During the early morning, there is nothing better than swinging by for a muffin to nosh on while drinking a piping hot cup of coffee, or my personal favorite, a vanilla chai latte. They have ample seating for students to pore over their latest reading assignment, and comfortable sofas to sit and catch up with an old friend. They have tables outside too, so when the weather id nice, customers can sit and enjoy their coffee while people watching. After the sun sets, this is the best beer bar scene in the area. Regaulrly offering special tap takeovers, their tap menu is quite impressive, and they have a number of drool-worthy bottles as well. They promote local breweries like the Funky Buddha and Due South, but also carry the further-reaching selections like the Bruery and Mikkeller. If beer isn't your thing, don't fret, they hav e wine as well. Furthermore, they have karaoke nights and other draws to provide entertainment. The only complaint I have is that the food menu is a bit lackluster. Although they have a couple of options, this isn't really somewhere I'd come to dine beyond grabbing a small bite. Otherwise though, go for what they do offer, and whether in the morning or at night, come thirsty! read more

Coffee shop with craft brews? YES! That is exactly what this java junky Craft Brewja needs in her life!! My new job takes me up in this area every week or two, and I have fallen in love with the Vanilla Chai Latte with almond milk here. Their chai is the best I have had so far, and the almond milk doesn't get that 'roasted' taste with it, although I did notice that taste with the cappuccino so it must have to do with the temperature difference in espresso vs tea. I also joined Marisol and Glenn up here one night for a Cigar City tap takeover that was pretty great. A good crowd, and some great brews on draft. Their selection of craft beer is always impressive and from what I understand, there are a lot of tap takeover nights. The only reason I don't give them more stars is that I wish their food menu was a little more to write home about. It's a little lack luster, but it's not bad so you can nibble on something with your beverage. I just wouldn't consider this place as a destination for food, so if you are really hungry grab a bite elsewhere first and then head over here to hang out with a beverage. read more

Places like these are on every corner on every street in cities like San Fran, New York, Philly or Boston. The problem is Florida doesn't have cities like that, you know, most of our cities lack of culture, history, charm but thanks to Coffee District we get a taste of that now in Delray Beach. I've heard about this place for years so while I was in the area today I made sure I stopped by to check it out. I don't drink coffee and I'm not much of a tea sipper but I do love my beer and this place has plenty of it. The name may lead one to think it's predominately a coffee spot, but it's so much more than just that. They have a lovely section of taps ranging from Cigar City, St Bernardus, Dogfish, Stone, Terrapin to local favorite Due South. They also have what seems like 100+ beers in bottle forums as well. This was the last place in South Florida that still had Terrapin's Liquid Bliss, I just happened to buy the last ones. The prices are pretty good too, less than some of the more popular craft spots within the area. This isn't the place you go to for swag and to pick up some beautiful babies. It's quaint, quiet, intimate and full of great sipping options. Come alone and get your loner on, or come with a group and marinate off the ave. These places are so needed in SoFla and it's refreshing to see a place like Coffee District in our own backyard. read more

A coffee and pastry shop, well off the Atlantic Avenue beaten path, that oh, you know, happens to serve a whole lot of beer. It was a bit jarring to see this clean, well-lit coffee shop with a bunch of taps, draft menu on the chalkboard, and a huge crowd inside and out enjoying a recent "IPA Tap Takeover." It probably wasn't the greatest night to try this place, as it was pretty crowded......I never really settled in and felt comfortable as I typically do with beer bars. That would be my only complaint, it felt awkward and a little uncomfortable due to the crowd, but that was probably just a function of the night on which I finally tried it. Extensive beer selection, with some interesting, beyond-the-pale special drafts. They also put on many brewery events, tap takeovers and the like. I'm surprised there aren't more places like this around.....if I was closer, I could come here for coffee in the morning, then a beer later on in the evening. Great concept. read more

Wow, tons of beers I can't find anywhere else. I bought some to go home with me. I love the layout, the friendly people and the food and drinks. What else can I say, they have a great selection of beers and great food. The Chicken panini was phenomenal, the turkey panini was amazing and the spinach artichoke dip was tasty. They serve it with crunchy tortilla chips but we got some pita on the side for an extra $2 (don't suggest it, the chips are better with it). I want to really like Coffee District. It's got great atmosphere, but it just isn't quite there for me. The coffee is just eh. And I prefer a coffee shop with more activity. What a great little place! Stopped in here with my husband and some friends on a Saturday night around 8pm just to check it out. I'm a coffee lover, but as soon as I realized they also serve beer and wine, I opted for a refreshing glass of pinot grigio. The vibe here is laid back and casual. It's a "come as you are" type of place, is fairly small, with a bar, small tables, a few high tops, and a couch. It was great for the four of us to be able to hang out for awhile, sip our beverages, and actually be able to hear each other speak, as opposed to some spots in Delray with blaring music where you end up screaming just to have a conversation. We left around 9:30pm and by that point the place had gotten pretty busy, and a little louder, but still not obnoxious. I like that this place is off the ave, and a little out of the way so it attracts a crowd of people who make an effort to specifically visit this place, as opposed to those just passing by. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'm definitely grabbing some coffee! read more

This place is a beer lovers dream come true. A small coffee house that has over 100 types of craft and imported beer on bottle and about 6 on tap. I'm a bit of beer geek so I really only know what their beer selection is like. I don't drink wine or coffee. The staff including the owner are great. Extremely friendly and helpful. If you are interested in trying something new they will gladly help you based on your taste. The atmosphere is very relaxed, just like a coffee house would be. They have karaoke on Friday nights and open mic on Saturday nights. They do home brewing on Monday nights and just about any night you can just kick back and enjoy a brew, wine, coffee, sandwich or salad and have a good time here. You don't have to worry about the awkwardness some bars make you feel. If you are in downtown Delray it's worth a shot and I bet you will keep going back. read more

This is a regular place for us to go and hang out with friends, acquaintances and everyone else at the bar. Friendly staff, great selection of beer, and the coffee is pretty good too! Most of the stuff in the bakery case is made in-house, and the options have expanded since the first time I wrote a review. The places flips from being primarily coffee to primarily beer in terms of clientele around 5-6pm when happy hour folks drop by after work. The paninis are pretty decent, and there are a few other things on the menu to satisfy a need for food while having a beer. Karaoke is a fun event, as the crowd that it draws is pretty mixed in both demographics and talent. There are some really good karaoke regulars and some really awful karaoke regulars, with most being somewhere in between, and you'll find a decent selection of song options. read more

I like that this place is a 10 minute walk from busy Atlantic Avenue. I can do my studying and work and then when I need a break I can take a walk into town. They have a limited but good food menu. Coffee District is a true gift to this area. Sure, they offer tasty coffee drinks as the name suggests, but where this place really shines is in their wide selection of beers and general support of the craft beer community. Nestled in this comfy and unpretentious coffee shop is a bar with a rotating and always excellent selection of draft brews. They do a great job of always having an interesting and varied assortment on tap, so there's always something new to try. Plus, they have dozens and dozens of bottled brews as well. That alone would be enough to make this place worth the trip, but this place goes one step further and holds craft beer socials every Monday. Members of the craft brew community will meet up and bring hard-to-find or flat-out rare bottles of brew to share with everyone. The staff hangs out as well and everyone just has a really good time. I've met lots of great people during these events, and you really get a sense that this place becomes a little hub for beer enthusiasts every Monday. The environment is super chill with great coffee, fast internet, and an amazing craft beer selection... all with nice tunes on in the background. Ordered a Vanilla Latte when they were not so busy and waited 30 minutes to get, when I asked the counter staff what happened, she said she forgot. Which is okay, but I was standing there and asking every 5 minutes. What a waste. No matter who my barista is, and I've had three, they always have an angry attitude. Coffee district is a super chill spot in Pinapple Grove just off Atlantic. We heard they had some good craft beers so stopped in to check it out. Now we've been twice and its just great. There's a coffee section with food (haven't tried any yet) and then a small bar for beers. The same girl helped us both times and she was super knowledgeable/helpful/sweet. Refused service because of laziness... Late night on our mini-vaction Boca, my wife was craving some coffee. Found this place on yelp being about 30 minutes away before closing. So I book it and make it in time with 7 minutes to spare, they had live music going on and the place was packed with people and their drinks. There are 3 gentlemen behind the counter as I go up to order a latte for my wife, and they just refused me service because they were closing in five minutes. I turn around to look at the live musician and all the people seated and ask him again and he simply replied no. If you have hours posted and a customer is there within those hours I believe they should be served. Maybe I'm just crazy. read more

Checked out Coffee District with some friends on a weekday night and had a great time. We were actually only going to see a local band perform there, but I really liked the chill and quiet atmosphere of the place. My friend and I shared some bottles of Double Bastard (an excellent and strong beer), and chips with fresh salsa and guacamole. We talked to the owner (cool guy) for a bit and he mentioned how they hold beer events and sometimes have rare and specialty beer in stock depending on the season. A half bar, half coffee shop kind of arrangement. They have 6-8 bar chairs facing a tv, usually playing sports. with maybe 8 beers on draft. The rest of the place is a coffee shop. I got a macchiato which, strangely, was served in a large to go cup (I didn't ask for it to go). Macchiatos are not large drinks, so I had a comically large 16oz paper cup holding a double shot of espresso and some foamed milk. The drink itself wasn't bad but the presentation was... novel and inexperienced. Coffee District's issue is that they try to do too much with their small space. The area is smaller than your average starbucks and they attempt to cram a sports bar and a coffee shop together into it. This leads to a strange atmosphere which feels a forced blend of two spots that don't belong together. I've always believed that spots that focus on being exceptional in less areas tend to be better experiences than those that try to have it all, and Coffee District is a prime example. read more

The "baristas" try to be hipsters but are pretty racist and ageist. Doofus!!! The only reason to go there versus at her places is the parking.
