On the search for Delray Beach's best coffee, I stopped by Gizzi's Coffee. Like many cafes in this town, it's in...drum roll please...a strip mall! Don't let that deter you. It comes with free parking. Step inside and there's a lot to take in. There are games and books in one corner, couches in another, tables in another, a chocolate mint candy dispenser in another. It's all a little disjointed, but maybe that's the point. The woman behind the counter was friendly and my hazelnut latte came out within minutes. I love a good cup of coffee, but this wasn't it. It wasn't horrible, but not the best I've had in the area. I will say that it seems like a good place to work. There are plenty of tables inside, outlets, and more. read more

This was an awesome, simple, and very affordable breakfast combo that was exactly what I was looking for. Coming from New York, breakfast sandwiches are really tough to compare, and while it's not at the NY level, it still definitely hit the spot. The gizzuccino though was fantastic. I can't put my thumb on the taste but it was delicious, and what was most impressive is this was not a crazy sweet drink. I don't really like sugary things, and I was thrilled when this was the perfect low dose of sweetness. As a combo, this was exactly what I was looking for to get my mid morning going before heading to the beach. Also import to note was the nice message written on the cup by the staff. Unique and a pleasant introduction to the meal. I took it to go so I didn't get a feel for inside, but it would've been a cute place to sit and relax in. Was getting my car serviced across street when I popped in for cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Place was clean and quaint. Definite mom pop shop vibes. Had a consistant flow of regulars. My coffee was served in a delivery dudes mug which I found odd till I saw the assortment of mugs behind the counter. Coffee was OK, nothing wrong with it just did not jazz me. I drink my coffee black, but they offered a large assortment of Espresso and such. My breakfast sandwich of egg, cheese, and bacon on a bagel like my coffee was OK. Next time I get my car serviced I will stop back in and try an Espresso and perhaps a pastry to go with it. read more

Cappuccino is very good. A great place to meet clients as the ambience is on point. Service was fast, but not very friendly very hard to understand the person who was making my coffee. Easy to find parking , prices are within range of everyone else around the area. I would definitely come back. I do recommend however know before you come that this is not the place that you will get warm welcome and chit chat. ( typical for this part of the world) read more

Really love this place! The strawberry and banana smoothie was good, and we spoke with Andre for a crazy amount of time about soccer because he's from Spain. We had a great chat and he was very nice. We are relatively new in Delray Beach (about 1 month). I've tried many of the coffee places along Atlantic Ave, but I keep coming back to Gizzi's as my "go-to" place. Their coffee is consistently great. Perfectly extracted - not over or under (most places seem to under-extract and serve sour espresso), friendly service, good food items (had a great breakfast sandwich one day) and it's a nice, comfortable place to sit and read, work, or chat with friends. Recommended without reservation. If you're an espresso person, you will almost certainly like Gizzi's. read more

Wow. I just ate here for the first time, on my way to the dealership to shop for a car. I figured having a coffee before hand would be a good idea, so I walked in. It's always the little things, right? I ordered a breakfast sandwich to go along with my americano. And wow, can't believe it. They put so much love into it. It's photographed below. If you look closely, you can see they put cheese on both the top and bottom of the sandwich. It came HOT too which was a nice treat. 10/10, it was delicious. I can taste the love. Thank you. It's also worth noting that I came on the 26th, the day after Christmas, and they were open. What a great coffee shop if you're in the Boca or Delray area! It's a very large space, and the layout makes it conducive for working, as well. I stopped in on a Sunday morning, and they had a soccer game playing, and there were several people sitting on couches reading the paper, and a few others scattered at various tables. There is a wide variety of coffees you can order from a macchiato to a latte and if you are up for a energy burst that's full of caffeine you must get the bulldozer. I happen to pop in to get a quick bite and sip during an errand yesterday morning. The coffee shop is cozy and cute. It was a friendly atmosphere and overall good service. There were plenty of coffee flavors to choose from and I went for the white mocha. It was great. The sugar free blueberry muffin was nice and guiltless...lol! It was a little more than I expected to pay for the two, but it doesn't hurt once in a while. There were quite a few regulars that were in there and was told by the staff they would see them later when they left. Since it was my first time, I just got the standard have a good day. My experience at Gizzi's was absolutely terrific....excluding Miss Congeniality (the barista/cashier) I went in today after driving by it a few times. I'm a Starbucks girl to the core but at the same time I love supporting local business. Not a huge lunch crowd there although I believe they do serve food. They have a varied selection of coffees and teas and when I saw Vanilla Soy Latte-I knew that's what I wanted. So I ordered it and on the menu it said $3.24. She continued to charge me $.50 extra for the soy although the price was listed on the menu for a vanilla soy latte. Me: "Why is it $4 even when it says $3.24 on the menu./" Barista: "Because of the tax" Me: "So you're trying to tell me that it is $.76 tax on a $3.24 drink? That seems a little ridiculous" Barista: "That's what it's telling me" I guess "it" was the cash register and not the creepy clown. Hmmmmm....something about that seems fishy. Yeah it may be only $.50 but it's the principle of it. You all have to understand I am part Polish, I am all about pinching my pennies So I finally got my latte and hunkered down by the fireplace. I am down for any place in South FL that has a fireplace! They have the most comfy leather chairs I have sat my tush in in a while and after sitting in a hard, cold chair at work, it was most welcomed. They have magazines for you to look through while sitting along with free wifi. The latte was good-not horrible, not orgasmic, just good. I will tell you though, the real reason I go regularly is because of the people. The staff, as well as Andres the owner are family to me.
