    Pumpkin espresso sitchiation

Damn. Thankful I live near this spot, some of the best espresso I've had in Chicago. You can add CBD to any drink. They are really amendable to any drink requests, so I love that!

Kinda meh. They don't seem to have any specialty drinks, which always seems odd for a coffee shop. Lack of specials makes it kinda boring because there's so much room for creativity, especially in the fall season. I got a mocha and chai, as well as a couple breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches are assembled ahead of time and warmed up on a panini press. I got an egg muffin sandwich and it wasn't bad, but possibly a bit overpriced. It seems like a well-liked place. There were half a dozen people working on their laptops when I was here. Parking is street only, on Irving Park or the side streets.

Stopped in to this very busy neighborhood spot on Irving Park. Staff of three were handling the morning rush with smiles. Griddled Italian sausage egg and cheese on an English muffin was hot tasty and reasonably priced. Got a dark roast drip coffee from Uganda that was great. Parking can be tough at peak times and it is a cashless operation. Nice spot I'll be back.

Was at work and wanted to get a coffee and so I thought I walk down there is a coffee shop in the building I work. But it was closed. No coffee shop in 15 min walk around that building so what to do. I got over to Grubhub and for the first time I ordered coffee via them. And it was coffee joint - I also ordered a ham and Swiss toast on a multigrain bread. That was so delicious - the delivery with GH was way faster then I thought and the sandwich tasted great. So good that today I will start my day with a coffee and a sandwich from coffee joint.

Cute coffee shop in Roscoe Village! Very cute branding on all their cups & a great selection of drinks / food. Stop in on a weekday or weekend! There's plenty of seats :)

Amazing s'mores coffee (not sure that was the exact name)

This is a great neighborhood spot! With limited hours it's hard to get to stop in but it is so good when I can get there. I dream about these drinks!

I grabbed a quick lunch here during my lunch break. The decor is classic modern coffee shop, with a comfortable atmosphere that would be great for working. The staff were friendly and quick in making my sandwich. I do think that the food is overpriced for what you are getting ($12.50 before tax for a standard sandwich), although it was good. I am interested in trying a drink here in the future.

    Toasted marshmallow latte. AMAZING

Another 5 star Chicago coffee joint. Loved this little shop. I had a toasted marshmallow latte that was Amaaaazing . Some seating available but not too much so get there early on a weekend to snag a table. Neighborhood gem. I'll be back for sure.

This coffee shop is a gem in the neighborhood. I'm visiting from the PNW so I love a good and flavorful strong cup of coffee. The ambiance and amazing customer service is what has made me come back 3 times out of the 4 days I'm staying here. I also ordered food and it was delicious. I wish there was a place like this where I live because I would go there to get some work done and enjoy my day.

I was in town visiting a friend and stopped here for a quick coffee. It was in October and the coffee shop was decked out in Halloween decor. It has great branding and a neat atmosphere. The staff was also nice. This is probably one of my favorite cold brews I've had. It was not bitter at all and had a great, full flavor. Definitely coming back!

The cake tasting was a wonderful experience, giving us plenty of delicious options to choose from while helping us create the perfect cake for our special day. Throughout the entire process, their communication was outstanding. They kept us informed every step of the way and worked directly with our wedding venue, "Firehouse Chicago", to coordinate the delivery and logistics. Everything was handled seamlessly, and our cake arrived exactly as planned without a single issue. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Bittersweet's professionalism, organization, and proactive approach gave us one less thing to worry about. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service truly stood out. One feature we especially love is that they keep the recipe and design of your wedding cake on file. Every anniversary, they can recreate your wedding cake or a cake in any size you choose. We've continued this tradition, and each anniversary cake has been just as delicious as the original while bringing back wonderful memories of our wedding day. If you're looking for a bakery that is responsive, dependable, and delivers an outstanding product, I highly recommend Bittersweet Bakery for your wedding cake or any bakery needs. I ordered an oat milk caramel latte, which was very enjoyable once I gave it a good stir. The first sip was pretty sweet since the syrup settled at the bottom, but after mixing it up, it hit the exact flavor profile you expect from a great caramel latte. Since I live nearby, I grabbed a mix of pastries to go. Even without warming them up, the textures and flavors were fantastic. The almond croissant was flaky with a thick, crisp exterior and a dense, flavorful center. It wasn't overloaded with almonds on top, so I wasn't scrambling to wipe stray nuts off my clothes. The pecan sticky bun was also delicious--the bun looked like a soft roll wrapped in a rich caramel coating, and the caramelized pecans were incredible. My favorite was the Kouign-amann. It was my first time trying one, and the crisp, buttery layers reminded me of an intense, caramelized croissant. On the softer side, I tried the lingonberry almond cake. The top had a firmer crumb with almonds while the bottom was a soft cake with lingonberries throughout. It tasted good, though I realized I've been leaning more toward the crispier pastries lately. Overall, it's a fantastic local bakery with a great selection, and I'll definitely be back.

I always look for a patisserie whenever visiting a new city, and after scouring for hours, nothing in Chicago really caught my eye except for Verzenay. Other spots had basic desserts, but Verzenay had a wide selection of interesting dessert flavors along with coffee, teas and a brunch menu. Royale 5/5* Very similar to the Opera cake, but with hazelnut instead of coffee buttercream. This was so decadent. The feuilletine was crisp, delicate, and buttery and perfectly balanced out the creaminess of the hazelnut praline and chocolate. Pistachio Escargot 5/5* So flaky and crispy. The lamination on this pastry is unreal. So many layers. Desi Valour 4/5* Wow you can really taste the cardamom. It was an interesting mix of flavors. The carrots were so caramelized it was almost like a fruit chutney. You would never have known it was carrots. Saffron rice crisp at the bottom was really hard to cute through with a plastic knife, but Passionfruit Ricotta Cake Slice 4/5* Eaten immediately at the cafe, it was cold and so refreshing, light, and perfect summer flavors. The passion fruit was tart, and Butterbean smooth, fluffy, and not overwhelmingly sweet. When eaten later though, it somehow tasted way too sweet. There is a reason Verzenay is rated so high. Beautiful presentation, decadent flavors, and perfect indulgence on a nice sunny afternoon.
