Decent nail salon. It was busy when I went late Tuesday afternoon. The vast majority of students in Austin are gone for Spring Break, so I guess fortune was on my side a bit. The prices are a bit higher than average (compared to my usual salon in Dallas), but nothing too outrageous. The staff is comprised of young and old ladies (one guy) who are all rather friendly and chit-chatty. They have plenty of pedicure chairs, so I don't see that being an issue, wait wise. I really enjoyed this nail salon. The staff is really nice and friendly. They will go out of their way to make you happy. The actual quality of how my nails turned out is probably a 3.8 to a 4.5 depending on which person does my nails. This is what I mean by that- The first time I went there, my nails looked great, but the paint around the cuticles could have been better. The second time, I just went in to get one finger redone, but she ended up redoing two of them for me, glossing the fingers, and moisturizing my cuticles. My nails look amazing again, especially the two redone- the cuticles look so good! I would give this place a chance because they really do care about you and want you to have a good experience! Worst nail job ever In my life!!! I made an appointment with Sammie and she didn't even take the time to do my nails. She was too busy fixing other people's mistakes and now I know why... she charged me $110 just to design my nails and pawned off the rest of the work. These were my natural nails. I have never had one break in over a year and I've had three break in less than two weeks. My friend took me here to get my nails done for my birthday. We both got a basic mani pedi's. When we got ready to pay, she was quoted 45 each (which the basic pedi is 25 and mani is 15) when she went to pay she got a bill for 100. (Which she paid) we both very clearly asked for basic mani pedi's. I did not appreciate my friend being overcharged. Beyond that initially I thought it was a benefit to have someone work on my manicure but when she completed I realize I wish I was able to focus on my hands as they weren't the caliber I expected. A pet peeve of mine is when someone doesn't paint down to my nail (it looks like my nails are a few days old but were freshly painted ) All in all it was a disappointing experience. Celfie used to be my regular spot for mani pedis since I live very close by, but the place has changed over the past year. I was never a fan of their iPad check-in process - it always felt very impersonal and made me feel forgotten. The work has never left me fully satisfied but I am not really fussy about my nails. It used to be very decorated with pictures all over the walls but it looked totally different when I came in today, much more demure and blank. That didn't really bother me until I realized it was 10 minutes past my appointment time and they were seating walk-ins before me. I've visited Celfie Nail Spa a handful of times and have had great experiences every time. I'm happy to have finally found my go to salon in Austin! If you call ahead and make an appointment, you don't usually have to wait long. I have visited with a friend on many occasions and they have always accommodated us and sat us next to each other for our pedicures. We usually call ahead 30 min before we go. I get a regular pedicure and shellac manicure and the quality of the massage + polish have been excellent from all of the staff. My shellac stays on for almost 3 weeks! All of the staff are very welcoming and I appreciate that drinks are offered during the appointment. Sometimes the appointment can take a long time, but I'd rather have the technician be thorough than rush through everything. A shellac manicure and regular pedicure are $60, which is a great price for the quality. read more

Came into Celfie Nails Spa while on vacation here in Austin. I found the store via Instagram and great Yelp reviews. My sister and I stopped into the store around 12:30 on Tuesday and there where plenty of chairs available. I was really hoping to have Sammi do my nails because I loved her work on Instagram. I was asked to sign in on a touch screen computer at the front desk and I explained what service I was interested in (an acrylic fill and color change with holographic design, my sister got a pedicure). A gentleman shaped and filled my nails very gently and was very pleasant to talk to. I was offered a drink (I chose water since it's oh so hot in Austin right now) and I was given time to drink my water and replace the cap before my nail shaping and fill began. Sammi asked me to chose my nail color via Instagram and we discussed color options and designs together. Once I chose my color (Sammi gave me choices on a wheel and offered even more options), Sammi set to work on my nails. She was so helpful in choosing a color (helped me find one that worked with the season and my skin tone). Sammi let me know that she wanted to be personally satisfied with the finished product and I could certainly tell, she put a lot of work and attention to detail into my nails. Celfie Nails is my go to nail salon in Austin! I used to frequent higher end salons but was frustrated that they only do natural nails. Celfie does a fantastic job with acrylic nails that are perfectly shaped and look natural. Pro tip: Request Paul for your nail shaping and Sammi for nail art. They are nail geniuses! I also love their selection of polishes. They carry DND, which are my favorite colors and come in matching shellac and regular polish shades. They also have OPI, Essie, and Ciate. read more

This place is very hit or miss. I've had okay pedicures and okay to horrible manicures. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and came a few times for mani/pedis. I tried the sns manicure today and while the polish is great, the cleanup left something to be desired. I left, saw my manicure in the sunlight and returned to ask them to clean it up and they tried - twice. The very nice guy who did my nails said I had extra product under my nails because my nails are so short, but as you can see, the product was all over my cuticles and fingers. That has nothing to do with the length of my nails. He said it would wash off with water and it has not. I will have to clean it up myself with polish remover at home. He did practically nothing to trim my cuticles. Perhaps those with longer nails have better results, who knows...I can't complain about the pedicure, that was really great. Not returning anytime soon and will look for places that care more about the details. Will say that the ambiance is nice and everyone that works there is pleasant. I really wanted this to be my nail spot and am disappointed.. In response to business manager's reply: I told your technician I had never done SNS and asked him to explain it to me. He should have made it clear it wasn't "a manicure at all" as you say. So you mean to tell me I just paid $45 plus tip for polish on my fingernails? That's pretty ridiculous. Definitely would not recommend. I went in for a gel manicure/pedicure and ended paying $97 for the service. I get my nails done pretty regularly and I have never paid this much for a nail service. When I walked in, I was told that a manicure would be $25 and $35 for a pedicure. HOWEVER, they charged me $5 to remove the previous gel polish from my nails. I had the polish on 2 of my nails... not all 10. And they still charged the $5. They also didn't tell me this unless AFTER they removed polish from 2 of my nails... when it came to the pedicure, I asked for just a regular pedicure. Apparently there is a $5 difference between a "simple" and a "regular" pedicure - I was not handed a menu of prices this whole time. So they charged me $25 for manicure, $35 for gel pedicure, and ANOTHER $25 for the "regular pedicure" service.... I automatically assumed that the $35 pedicure price included the whole service... but apparently I was wrong. On top of that, my gel manicure lasted 2 days... and I made an effort to be careful with my nails in preparation for Valentine's Day. Between the poor service and ambiguous prices, I would NOT recommend this salon to get your nails done. read more

I did watch them turn away as few people because they didn't have appointment. This place is crazily busy! The salon is very clean and accommodating. Everyone who works there is happy and attentive. One of the employees even handed out water while I was waiting. They have good variety color selection. I came for pedi and manicure. Definitely one of the best affordable nail salon I've been to in Austin. I hate to write this because I've only been once. I like to try places twice typically before reviewing but in this instance, I don't really want to go back. Our experience was definitely lackluster, perhaps I was expecting more because of all the high ratings. At 2:30pm on a weekday we waited for 55 minutes for a standard pedicure. Then after we got in "the water", waited at least another 15 minutes for someone to glance our way. Btw, the chairs have a "buttock" massage setting that is basically some weird object ramming right up near your lady bits. It's really really awkward to feel something suddenly start pushing up in your business. Like, take me on a date or something. I'd intended on working while there because they boast wifi. Instead I just connected to the janky TWC wifi because i couldn't get anyone to look at me, much less tell me the wifi password. Finally our pedicurists arrived. I have to assume mine was new as she added layer after layer of paint to my toes in an attempt to make them look even. As I sat half working and half watching with mounting alarm, Kenny G's breathless tenor sax played a loud and tinny soundtrack. Kenny - we dug you in the 90s and I wish you'd stayed there. After the pedis were finished, my friend and I just sat there. No... drying lights or acknowledgment that the service was over. I kind of thought maybe there was something else I was supposed to be waiting for? I finally heaved myself out of the chair, slipping dangerously with the pedicure flops on and flagged someone down to pay. My nails, btw, never dried and are now smeared like I took a scrub brush to my toes. Those 7 layers of nail polish are not conducive to longevity. It's affordable, they've got a great color selection, they did good work on cuticle and callouses but man, almost every other bit of this experience overshadowed the good parts. read more

Yikes. I've been going here for a year, twice a month, every month. But the last few times have been ness than stellar. And today, was the last time I'll go here. The layers of polish on my toes don't match up so it looks so sloppy. The also filed and cut my toenails down so short they look like little stubs (she did so without asking what length I wanted). Then, my gel manicure. The lady started while I was getting my pedicure done, which was fine. But he end result was BAD. All my nails are different lengths and shapes, and my cuticles look worse than when I went in! The polish is uneven everywhere and has bubbles. Celfie might give an excellent mani-pedi, but make sure you have the day off because this is not a quick place. Arrived at 12:04 for a regular manicure and had to be somewhere in the vicinity by 1:00. I thought it was strange and kind of rude when the woman who was mid-pedicure on someone else got up and came to seat me and begin soaking my nails. She then went to finish the pedicure. When she finally got back to me, I still had plenty of time to spare. But then she got up FIVE times to seat every person who walked in the door and "get them started." At 12:55 she was just going to start filing but I knew I had to leave in order to make my appointment. I paid for the service even though it wasn't even halfway finished. Celfie is a little dark inside, but clean. Big selection of polishes, both regular and gel, and Vinylux is not an extra charge. Eight manicure stations and ten massage chairs, but not nearly enough staff to ever accommodate that many people. If you don't have the whole day to kill, go to Passion Nails instead. There might be a 5 minute wait, but once someone starts on you, you'll have their undivided attention until they're finished. read more

After writing this review, I received a message from the manager Bill T. apologizing for the service or lack there of that I received. He also offered to give me a full refund. On 6/7/18, I went back to get my refund but he was not there. An older female told me that she was aware of the situation and called the manager on the phone. She said he was 30 minutes away and asked if I could wait to talk to him. I explained that I was on my way to the airport and that I did not have that much time. She gave me a form to sign for my refund. The form stated that in order to receive a refund I would not post anything negative about the business on any websites. It then asked for a signature, date of service and a copy of your driver's license. After reading that, I refused to sign it or give her my license. That's crazy! Why would you need a copy of someone's license for a refund? I agreed to show her my license to prove that I was who I said I was but I did not feel comfortable allowing her to make a copy of my license. She then said she could just take a picture of my license with her phone and again I refused. I don't live in Texas and I don't know what you're going to do with my personal information. Besides, the form would not apply to me anyway because I had already written a review of the business. By that time, a male walked in and grabbed another form for me to sign without introducing himself or asking me what my concerns were. When I told him I would not sign the form, he said I could not get a refund. I told him he could keep it and I left. These people obviously don't understand the concept of customer service! All of this for a $25 refund that I never even asked for. What a waste of time!!! read more

I had a great experience at Celfie Nails Spa with the basic pedicure package. It's been about two weeks since my pedicure and the polish has not chipped at all! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Soda and water was offered to me and a friend when we walked in. I gave Celfie four stars instead of five because my friend and I booked an appointment, but were taken in forty minutes later because of some confusion with late customers. It's a little frustrating when you build a schedule around an appointment time but it doesn't pan out. Otherwise, highly recommend it, and book an appointment early! Also, because this salon is so loved, it can get really busy on the weekends! It's best to call ahead and guarantee yourself a spot. read more

Bad things: -way to pricey for my taste (college student) -the people were rude -i got the 30$ pedicure, which comes with a 5 minute massage, when I asked for 10 minute massage, she said it would be $20 more, which I personally think is ridiculous -when i asked if she could scrub a little more of my dead skin off, she was extremely rude, and yelled at me saying, "no, you will bleed, and I don't want blood all over my store." I had a great experience at Celfie. I've probably had about 5 manicures done in my entire life, so it's not something I do often. One of my lady friends was in town so we started out day with mimosas and tacos (thank you Tamale House I love you) then went to Celfie. We both got the paraffin wax and manicure deal. I've never done the wax thing before. They take your hand and stick it in a bag of hot wax and squish it around a bit. It was neat to watch and felt great. I will definitely be back, this place was great! AND only maybe 4 minutes from my house. Went in an 1 1/2 before they closed and they were a little busy, but not bad at all. Everyone there was very friendly and good at what they do! I got the quick pedi, acrylic nails, and my eyebrows waxed. The quick pedi wasn't so quick, but no complaints here! They offered me a drink when I sat down for my pedi. Red wine please! My acrylic nails look just like i like em, short and rounded. Which, you would think wouldn't be hard, but other nails places usually mess it up. This place didn't! They also showed me pictures of all different kinds of shaped acrylic nails before I got mine done. The lady that waxed my eyebrows was very good at what she does. 5 stars for the cleanliness of the store and quality of the services. MY FIRST TIME!! - I came in for a shellac mani, French pedi and eyebrow wax but only had a limited amount of time available. They were able to accommodate me and complete all the services I needed within 30 minutes AND do a GREAT job. The lady who did my mani even took the time out to fix two of my fingers when I had bumped them under the UV light. They have a great selection of shellac colors (over 100) and multiple TVs showing various movies/shows WITH closed captioning. They've also got multiple spa packages and options. Their tools came straight from sterilization bags and their foot spas were even lined with plastic. They even had drinks available for their clients! To be honest, it was a little pricey ($24 mani, $30 pedi - $25 + 5 for French, and $10 for eyebrows) compared to where I used to go, but I was actually impressed bc they accommodated my limited amount of time and I looked great in just 30 mins! It's pretty reasonably priced for an Austin salon, and is conveniently located. It can get pretty busy, so I'd recommend making an appointment. First time customer and won't be coming back or recommend. You check in and the pricing for you to choose on the screen doesn't make any sense. I feel like they try to set you in a price even before you are done with your service. They didn't have he holographic color that I wanted at first and didn't really help with finding something out. Two of the ladies just bickered with each other about the color being out. So I chose another dip nail color and the lady told me it would be the same price. My dip manicure was good but nothing special to pay $75+ dollars for. There are PLENTY of other salons in the area that charges $35-$55 for Dip manicure with extras like chrome or cat eye. I left this review because the prices are too high and this isn't a luxury salon at all.. and I don't think the prices are consistent. If you call and ask about pricing the ranges will jump $5-10 dollars NO CONSISTENT PRICING AND NOT A LUXURY SPOT FOR A LUXURY PRICE TAG. read more

The atmosphere was "hipster" with selfie photos on the wall-- this was okay. The problem started during the pedicures and manicure. I have polish on my fingertips I didn't notice until I walked in the sunlight from the dimly lit store. The worse part was when the manicurist cut me! I now have a gash on my finger in two places. The manicurist was not apologetic until I informed the manager about the fact that I was bleeding. I will not return. Came in with my cousin a couple of weeks ago. I feel so bad because she had a terrible experience. After checking in online, we went to go pick out our nail color. Her nail tech started hounding her, asking if she was ready. We had JUST gotten to the nail colors, so we asked for a few more minutes. Still, she kept coming up every few seconds asking if we were ready yet. It seemed so over the top and unnecessary. She quoted my cousin a certain price for the nails, but then charged a lot more. My cousin, who is used to spending $20 on a refill for acrylics, ended up paying $45. We were hoping to sit together, but they didn't sit us anywhere near each other. Not sure if that's typical or not. I had a better experience than her. I liked my nail technician. She was patient and nice, until the very end, she got a little snappy with me when I asked if I could get another coat of glitter. She couldn't understand what I meant, and started snapping at me. Overall I had a really good experience here! Extremely attentive and considerate of what you want. They were patient very detailed oriented. Always checking their work with me every step of the way making sure I was satisfied with the shape and color of my nails. I really liked how Lien made the powder on my nails very thin and the coffin shape very even and went over it all with me. She was very gentle near my nail bed and around my cuticles as I have sensitive nails. And Sammy did a really great job of mixing colors to get me this perfect custom color that I had requested from a photo. This place is not the cheapest place around but it's comparable to other places and for some it may be worth the extra splurge for the great service and attention to detail. I think they got my nails done in a timely manner but if you're in a rush this may not be the place for you as everyone here takes their time to make sure their work is good.
