Started off great. Large selection of coffee and specialty drinks. Good food menu. Nice relaxing atmosphere. But the wait time for food was simply unacceptable. My wife's sandwich took around 20 minutes and they somehow forgot about my simple bagel. I asked about it about 30 minutes in and was served a hard and cold bagel that had clearly been sitting there a long time. Coffee was good. Seating area outside was nice. Coffee Obsession is a gourmet coffee shop that opened in Falmouth, Massachusetts in 1992. It was founded by Hugh F. Birmingham. The shop offers a house blend, dark roast and decaf choices of coffee, along with a flavorful blend that the staff selects each opening shift. Specialty drinks catering to the simple espresso sippers and cool cappuccino crowd are offered, as well as "Summer Sippers" like iced coffee, cold brew and iced teas. An extensive tea menu is also provided. Following its success, a second location opened in 2004 in the Woods Hole section of town. This location offers a full kitchen menu. It is very popular with visitors to the Upper Cape who are looking to grab a quick bite before boarding a ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. My family and I visited the Woods Hole location of Coffee Obsession recently when we were on a week-long trip to Cape Cod. We had just purchased ferry tickets to Martha's Vineyard at the Steamship Authority, and we were looking to grab a quick breakfast to bring onto the ferry with us. I scanned the menu and my wife and I decided to order a couple of Breakfast BLTs (Fried Egg, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Mixed Greens and Sriracha Mayo on Toasted Multigrain Bread). For our toddler son, we ordered a blueberry muffin. Those sandwiches were exactly what we were looking for! So delicious and not overly filling; they really hit the spot. Phew, what a disorganized setting. It's crowded (no fault to anyone), congested and the lines are chaotic. No one knew where to stand. The barista area is a mess; things here and there and just a mess. The place needs a good cleaning and some clutter, tossed. The back room near the loo has junk around as well. Every day should start here. The staff knows their craft, their products. A fantastic selection of loose teas, coffees (and coffee drinks), Italian sodas - there is something for everyone. Get your usual beverage or try one of the specials the baristas have developed for something new- disappointment is not an option here. They have a selection of bagels, pastries, and oatmeal for breakfast... and soups for lunch. If the kitchen is open, there are fresh and delicious breakfast sandwiches, grilled cheese, sometimes roll-ups, salads (breakfast and lunch), rice and beans, or Ruben specials. They are all fantastic and filling - and are literally the best value in town for breaks and lunch. I eat here often. A great place to get a coffee or a bite to eat. This is a great coffee shop in a great location! Located right next to the ocean, I stopped in here before we boarded our boat out to Martha' Vineyard. They had tons of great choices in coffee drinks, both hot and cold. The shop is nice and spacious with lots of seating to sit and work. The employees were all very young, and not the most welcoming. They weren't rude by any means, but not people that would welcome you to stay and sit for a while unfortunately. That's what gave this place a 4, our else I'd say it would be a definite 5! read more

I'm not even a coffee drinker and I love this place, and it's definitely the best casual food option in Woods Hole. I love their hot chocolate in all seasons, and they recently added a pretty robust lunch menu with reasonably priced but delicious lunch options. This is supposed to be an internet cafe, but a number of times (the last time - today) I had an unpleasant surprise: no WiFi connection. When I asked a sales clerk to help me - perhaps to re-set the router, superficially he was polite & told me that nothing he can do. Perhaps, but it was clear from the way he said it that he did not care at all. This is typical, and several more people had similar experience. A nearby Pie-In-the-Sky has a more reliable connection, and also better fare - their popovers are incredible. read more

They say they have WiFi but most websites including general ones such as thesaurus.com are not acceptable. The tables are cramped and often have weird edges which make sharing a table while working on a laptop nearly impossible. Great little shop! My girlfriend and I stopped in last weekend and Coffee Obsession was perfect for a breather. We didn't try the coffees but the menu is extensive. If you don't see something you want, I'm sure the staff could make it because our barista was super friendly! While she was busy making malady a chai latte, I noticed they had a small selection of baked goods too. Pricing is average and there are plenty of spots for you to hang out and chill or do work. I didn't see many electrical outlets though, so keep that in mind! Coffee Obsession also carries locally made artwork and crafts if you have time to poke around! Coffee O kept me alive and alert this summer while I was working/studying at the MBL. Every morning around 9:30 in between lectures, I'd venture here with a few classmates for the coffee of the day. And then we'd return around 3PM. And then again around 6:30PM many days. The flavors are amazing and I bought a few bags of beans to ship home, including hazelnut, vanilla buttercream (my favorite), and rainforest. I like the coffee and pastries at Coffee O better than pie-in-the-sky. I'm a HUGE fan of their ham and cheese croissants and regular croissants as well. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. The bagels also get two thumbs up from me. The free wi-fi is a plus on weekends when you can sit there and have a nice, cheap breakfast and relax. read more

I'm really picky about my espresso & almond milk and they exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly steamed, not over done, which a lot of places are in the habit of doing = burnt taste. This was the only drink I tried, but there are a lot of options. A+ for GF options that are tasty! D for no parking, but this is a town issue not theirs, so I l'd still give 5 stars. Cute cafe with a nice outdoor patio, good coffee and small lunch options, but the wifi doesn't work. You can use EduRoam if you're associated with a college/university. I came here specifically to do work after stopping in the day before to ask if they had wifi and being told that they did. When I came in, I got a coffee, a mini caprese sandwich, and a small farro salad - great for a light lunch and all were delicious. I liked the atmosphere inside and out - inside everything is dark wood, and there are books and a chessboard. There are 5 or 6 tables on the patio. However, the wifi didn't work anywhere, inside or out! I even asked people who were using their computers and no one had gotten it to work. I asked one of the employees and she just reiterated the name of the wifi network and was totally unhelpful. One man was using EduRoam, which you can log into if you're associated with a college or university, and that luckily worked for me (Google EduRoam and the name of your school and they'll tell you how to log on). read more

This location is conveniently located in Woods Hole within walking distance of my work. I love their dark iced coffees and they are not bad price wise. The people who work there are very knowledgeable about the products they serve and I am always happy to see their smiling faces when I pickup my hot or iced coffee. It's also a great place to get away from work and clear your head while enjoying a nice beverage. I would try to get there before the lunch rush because all the folks in school will bombard this place, because of their popularity, so time your arrival wisely otherwise you will wait in line several minutes in front of other Coffee Obsession enthusiasts. read more

Obsessed. Really, there is no other way to describe my love of this coffee and shop. I enjoyed every minute of my visit at Coffee Obsession, from getting great flavored coffee and excellent service to sitting in a comfortable atmosphere to sharing my thoughts in the individual sound booth. Yes--a sound booth. It looks similar to a telephone booth from the outside, but is a mini-recording booth on the inside. I have never seen anything like this!! I ordered a Mexican mocha latte and took in this unique and simply fantastic coffee shop while it was being made. I spotted the sound booth, grabbed my latte after taking a perfect first sip. I hopped into the booth, slid the door shut, sat down on the bench, and read the question prompted before sharing my thoughts. A pair of headphones for you to listen to yourself speak and a recorder that keeps streaming all day complete the booth, which is decorated with quotes and signs and pictures. The question of the day is posted on a print out taped to the side of the booth. I answered the question prompted that day and added my reasoning, feeling I was really heard. A sign near the headphones said answers may be played on a radio station or online radio stream!! After I finished recording, I sat down at one of the tables in the main seating area near the booth and enjoyed my coffee. The coffee is very high quality, and the baristas blend it well with the flavors offered. The Mexican mocha latte was excellent, tasting equal parts coffee and chocolate, with a little something extra. It was really a great treat and unlike any other mocha I have had. The baristas were very hard-working and knew what they were doing. They made the drinks efficiently and handled the steady stream of people coming into the shop really well. The barista who made my drink made it perfectly, and the other barista chatted with me (at a calm time in the shop) about the beans, describing how the beans are imported from Colorado and suggesting some drinks to try based on what I liked. He was extremely kind and helpful!! The only downside of Coffee Obsession, if there really is any, is that there are many choices for flavors and combinations. They have your essential coffee drinks and plain drink as well as flavored lattes and teas. It can be slightly confusing and hard to pick unless you know what to order when you go in; however, the baristas will likely be able to help you select a drink that satisfies your coffee craving and tastebuds. (There is also a sign above the register with the beverage options give the ingredients, from flavor to type of coffee, to help you understand what each drink is crafted with.) Additionally, the flavors in the flavored coffee drinks are stronger than I have had elsewhere. You can taste the coffee, but the flavoring--like the chocolate in my mocha--is very prominent, which some may not like. Once you try one of the flavored coffee drinks though, I bet you will really like it!! Coffee Obsession is definitely a shop to stop at--to get a delicious cup of coffee and wonderful service as well as to let your thoughts and stories be heard in the sound booth!! This is a very popular coffee shop in Woods Hole, this one has a completely different vibe than the one in downtown Falmouth. This one one has a lot more seating, and a lot more natural light but trades it for a feel that lacks personality and feels a bit more chain-like than I prefer. Thankfully, the coffee here was much better than at the Falmouth location (i.e stronger). It's up to you whether better coffee or having to hang out in a too-sterile environment is more important to you. I think I would prefer the Falmouth one if only because I found hanging out there much more enjoyable. read more
