The Town Hall
Michael P.

Came here for a quick lunch. I like the space, it's simple but it's got some charm to it. Overall the service was rather average as was the food. Tldr; Town Hall sandwich was OK, nothing special. The Cranberry whipped goat cheese chicken sandwich was dry. Service: We were seated quickly but then didn't have water for a while and never got a refill. The food came out as quickly as expected. Our server wasn't exactly welcoming which didn't make for the most pleasant experience. I don't think we got one smile. Food: The town hall sandwich is $20. I'll keep it short and sweet, it was a tad on the dry side and would have liked the beef to be warmed all the way through (not cooked well done, I mean warm to the touch). The center was still cold. Not to mention, it's simply overpriced for an inexpensive cut like roast beef. My wife got the yogurt and herb marinated fried chicken sandwich with Cranberry whipped goat cheese and man, it made my sandwich seem like it was as juicy as some fresh cut fruit. The chicken sandwich could have been good but the Cranberry whipped goat cheese needed some kind of aioli to go with it, or simply much more of the goat cheese. It was tough to get through. Glad we gave it a shot.

We stopped in for lunch after a long hike and got a table in the window and quick service. Our server was very nice and answered all our questions. All sandwiches could be made on gluten free bread. I had a roast beef sandwich and my son had the chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were served with delicious pickled veggies on the side. The reason for 4 stars are pricy for what we got and they got my order a bit wrong (but easily corrected.) Would definitely go back!

Cute and filling lunch spot with both indoor/outdoor seating. We were seated promptly on a busy summer Friday afternoon. Service was not quite attentive but we loved to people watch while we waited. The side salad was uniquely prepared with spiral carrots and fresh greens. The town hall sandwich was packed mile high with meat, tucked in by tasty rye bread, and topped off with a great pickled onion/mustard combo. The Village Green sandwich was on the dry side. We both weren't impressed by the pickled vegetable sides, but perhaps they just weren't for us.

The Plowmans Selection (for 2)

We walked by and decided to try- oh my goodness so so good. We got the snack plate and it was amazing especially for the price. I think it was $22 for more than enough food for two of us. Great latte and chowder too! Will come back.

Be careful about the charges. We visit here all the time when in town. They never give us an itemized receipt. When we asked, we were told they don't do that but can handwrite one. So the 2.5% up charge on credit card and the vague tip policy and taxes left us wondering. I think they add the tip to the receipt before they give you the bill but then they have a tip line when you sign.

Great pickles! Adults and kids all found something yummy to eat. Down town and not too far from ice cream.

The Cream of Asparagus and Goat Cheese soup was delicious. The chicke salad wrap was delicious. The service was way above average.

They did not let us do call ahead, but they did tell us there was a 1 hour wait. We ended up going the next morning at 9am and did not have to wait.

There's something magical about your first breakfast in a new place, especially when it comes…read morewrapped in salty Cape Cod air, sun-streaked skies, and a bagel piled high with smoked salmon and herbed cream cheese. That was our experience at The Black Dog Heights Café in Falmouth a coastal gem that greeted us with hearty food and classic New England charm. The building itself feels like a postcard: gray shingle siding, an American flag swaying gently, and that iconic black lab perched up high like it's guarding the soul of the Cape. Outside seating under bright red umbrellas kept things breezy and casual while we soaked up the sunshine and the vacation vibes. As for the food? Let's just say the Black Dog doesn't play around. I went straight for the Lox bagel tangy, creamy, fresh, and generous enough to require a two-hand strategy. Across the table, the breakfast burrito came packed with eggs, sausage, black beans, corn, and melty cheese in every bite equal parts flavor bomb and wake-up call. The crowd was relaxed, the staff kind, and the vibe effortless. No pretension, just solid coastal breakfast done right. There's a reason the Black Dog name is legendary out here, and now I get it. If you're starting your day in Falmouth, this is where you want to do it. #BlackDogCafé #CapeCodBreakfast #FalmouthFinds #CoastalCravings #ItsTheLittleThings #ThePuddingCreekTrestle #BagelGoals #VacationBites #EastCoastEats #MorningMagic

Amazing place with an amazing staff! First of all shout out to Sophia! Cute, sweet, helpful,…read moreprofessional! Her parents did a good job! Second - the Carmel latte was delish as were the muffins- cranberry and orange and then the blueberry. I also ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese-again delicious. BUT the super star (besides Sophia) was the BLT with avocado on sour dough. OMG and I am not kidding when I say that. Best meal I had on the Cape in the 4 days I was here! I'll be back next summer when I am here for work- hopefully the food is still yummy and Sophia is still working there.
