What a great breakfast meal we both had! They cooked my eggs perfectly ("take the wiggle out of the white") the hashbrowns were cooked to perfection...crispy without being burnt. We liked it so much we came there the next day also. This is a local place with a lot of variety. Breakfast, burgers, soups, salads, hot plates and daily specials. Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. This place is packed at lunch time. It took us a while to find a table. I ordered a veggie plate with a side salad, black-eyed peas, collards, Mac and cheese and it came with a corn muffin. Service was great. The manager came around to make sure we got everything and when we were leaving, they took care of clearing the table. I wish the food was better. I enjoyed the black-eyed peas the most. Seasoned well and slightly firm. The corn muffin was outstanding, moist and had pieces of corn inside with the right amount of sweetness. Salad was small and basic. The Italian dressing had no flavor. The macoroni in the Mac and cheese was overcooked. Collards were bland. My Dad and I were searching for a breakfast diner at 11am on a Monday. Unfortunately, they were not serving breakfast so we had to eat lunch. We both got the daily special: country fried steak. Dad complained there was hardly any meat in the country fried steak. I agree, there was barely any meat. It was all flavorless breading. It was served over mashed potatoes and with brown gravy so that greatly improved the taste. I got the mac and cheese. Personally I don't like greasy mac and cheese.... This happens when you use a cheese that doesn't melt well. My Dad and I both got the pinto beans which were also flavorless. Dad commented they must not have salted the water. I believe it is much more than that, they need to cook it with bacon fat or something to give the beans some flavor. The corn bread muffin was really good. It had little pieces of corn in it, which I think gives it a nice texture and sweetness. Our meal was $9. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant. Plenty of comfy booths. There were lots of workman coming in and a group of firemen at the table behind us. Maybe we should give this place another try with their fried fish. Due to the road construction, I was detoured and found the Cafe. I had scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, and a biscuit for under 5 bucks!!! I really liked the food. I put Texas Pete on all my eggs, and what was there waiting for me on the table? Texas Pete!! I love little diners. This one was clean ,staffed with some real friendly folks, and I enjoyed the banter of the police and fire guys having their breakfast. Now that I found it, I will be back! read more

I work just across the street from here and my co-workers and I go here constantly. As others have said, there really isn't much in this area. It's a small diner with a basic home-cooking type menu. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, meatloaf, fish, hamburger steak, etc. They also serve breakfast in the morning. CCC really hits the spot when you're starving and only have 30 minutes to grab lunch and get back to work. They also do call-in/pickup ordering which is easy. The ladies working behind the counter and the owner are all extremely nice people and quickly start to recognize you as a regular once you've been there 3-4 times. read more

The Cobb Salad was a disappointment. The blue cheese crumbles were NOT fresh and had that funky-cheese taste that indicated it needed to be tossed out rather than tossed into a salad! There were only 3 or 4 paper thin slices of avocado, and some the lettuce was what you would get when you're at the core of the lettuce head. The bacon and egg were pretty decent. But for 7.95? It's not worth it to me. Amazingly, I had this same salad about a year and a half year ago....and it seemed to have a WHOLE lot more to it - tomatoes and such. I ordered this particular salad as a takeout order, and went on my recollection of the cobb salad that I had previously. I don't foresee ever returning there for anything else. read more

I see this place when I look out my office window. That and a mound of grass. Coffey Creek Cafe is a much needed lunch establishment in this office park area. The food is greasy and filling, but nothing to get really excited about. My typical order is a fish sandwich, which is pretty much the only thing I can get here, but it does the job. It's bland, but nothing a bit of condiment lovin' can't take care of. Place is clean and more modern looking than the name suggests. Plus you get a punch card that gets you $5 off after 10 meals. (Interesting note: the building across the driveway has a solar PV installation on top of the building that you can see as you're taking off from CLT airport!) read more

The burger was white meat, which I'm not a fan of and was very greasy. I didn't finish it and that's very unusual for me. This place is located in the business park of Coffey Creek and attracts not only the business men and women, but conveniently located not even a mile down the road from the Charlotte Fire and Police Academy. I've stopped in several times and can almost guarantee to see some of the same familiar faces of police officers, fire fighters, etc. almost every time. I, unfortunately don't have the luxury of working in any surrounding businesses...However, I do make it a point to travel for a bite to eat at least twice a week on my lunch break. Did I mention you can get in, face the lines, and eat a hearty meal in less than an hour? Above average and personable service will make for an enjoyable experience that will encourage you to bring your friends or coworkers! On top of the impressive and speedy service, their menu is one with variety and certainly not something you can compare to any old diner. I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've ordered from Coffey Creek Cafe, but the hamburger steak and gravy has to be my go to and the macaroni salad is to die for! (Plus, everything in the menu is very fairly inexpensive for the food portions you can expect to receive with a nice, quality meal.) Here is my message to the owner of Coffey Creek: Your food is good and you are conveniently located to my office. In fact you are an equal distance to me from what is likely your closest competetor (Yorkmont Cafe). Your food is good but theirs is very good too. They give you a larger portion of food and do not "chince" on condiments or charge you extra for them. Prices are about the same. This translates out like this: 9 out of 10 times I go to Yorkmont. It is aggrevating to me that I would purchase a meal (say, chicken tenders and fried squash) and you will only give me one tiny little container of runny ranch dipping sauce that will not make it past the 2nd tender. When I ask for more I am told they are $.40 each!!! McDonald's doesn't charge for ketchup and Yorkmont doesnt charge for giving me enuff dipping sauce for my meal and you shouldn't be charging $,40 a pop for tiny sauces! Also, your fried squash is delicious, it's too bad you only give about 6 little pieces per order compared to Yorkmont who gives you enuff to properly satisfy a grown-up's hunger. read more
