The place is part neighborhood market, selling beer and wine along with snacks, and part deli serving made to order sandwiches, and salads, along with prepackaged sides and fixings like chicken or egg salad. I finally got a chance to come in around lunch time and was very exciting to dive into my turkey sandwich which came with bacon pepper Jack and a chipotle spread. I'm here from out of town visiting a friend. She suggested we get sandwiches from here. We visited the website, chose our sandwiches and I drove over. I walk in and see a rather disgusting bar stool upside down on the counter and a young gentleman behind the counter drinking coffee. No greeting just drinking his coffee. I motioned toward the deli counter and asked if this is where I order sandwiches. He said they close at 3pm. I said the website didn't mention that. I eventually found a few pre-made sandwiches in a deli case. He never made any conversation, help or assistance whatsoever. I did purchase a side salad amd a bottle of wine. I said it doesn't say anything on your website about deli hours, he said I've never seen the website. Oh my. I was very disappointed with the customer service. The ONLY bad thing about this place that makes me want to 1 star it, is that it gets so busy at lunch, if you don't stand in line and make sure you're not being cut, people get wild and order and stuff. So the environment is a bit chaotic in there, unless you go at a slower time. Sandwiches itself are very very tasty! When you first drive up to the market, you see the chairs outside for people to wait for their food and to talk about their day with their friends. Very old fashion market/country store vibe. I went inside and noticed that it was not as big as I thought it was, the kitchen takes up a third of the market. I ordered the egg salad with bacon sandwich and the curry chicken salad. Per the recommendation of the employee, I ordered the egg salad on a croissant. I commend his recommendation. The buttery croissant helped with the egg salad. The egg salad was a little dry but the horseradish and bacon help make it flavorful. The curry chicken salad was delicious, even after saving it for the next day. It still retained its flavor and you could tell that the chicken was moist and the curry did not overpower the chicken salad. The avocado added a creamy texture to the salad and then lettuce added the crunch and freshness to the sandwich. I also enjoyed the variety of coffee available in the morning. There was also a selection of sugar/sugar substitute and creamers that would allow one to enjoy their morning coffee. I recommend coming to Laurel Market to eat and to spend time with friends. read more

Wow! Someone told me this was THE PLACE to have lunch. I also heard they are moving to the West Side near me, so I had to go and check them out. I popped over with my hubby and we got a few sandwiches (custom made with amazing smoked Gouda cheese) and it was phenomenal. They served us very quickly and the selections seemed limitless. There was a huge line of people when we arrived and as we were leaving. Apparently, I've been missing out but I'm on to their which-craft now! Ha! Parking was a bit tight, and there was no short supply of foot traffic walking in from the neighboring communities. But, it was worth the effort. After hearing plenty of good things about this place, I finally decided to stop by recently and get some breakfast sandwiches. The layout of the market makes it a little crowded. There's no seating, so all food is taken to go. You order at the deli counter and then pay separately at the cashier. I got ordered an Americano on an everything bagel, a Mercado, and a Torta. The Torta was a little dry. The Mercado was probably my favorite and the Americano was also good. I wouldn't get a bagel again--it was quite chewy. The service here was not good. I got a Mercado on a plain bagel instead of the Americano on an everything bagel. They also didn't give me the Torta and I had to re-order. When they take your order, they don't write it down or ask for a name/give you a number. There's a ton of confusion about whose order it is when it's ready. There's also no good way to check your order is right because the sandwiches are wrapped up. The food was pretty good, but given the chaos of ordering, I would have to try to come on a less busy day. read more

I have been meaning to go here for years and even had a friend recommend the Sesame Ginger Salad to me awhile back. When I arrived it was the lunch rush and the market was jumping. The small store has just enough room to park outside and just enough to maneuver around the place comfortably. I wanted to order a sandwich for lunch and had spent a good amount of time reviewing their menu online. I was amazed when I got there and saw they had a larger menu available. I stood in what appeared to be the place to place an order. I was assured by another customer that I was in the correct place to order and that they just hadn't taken any other orders yet. I ordered the . There were a lot of options of bread but I didn't notice them posted it. I kinda made a quick decision on the ciabatta bread but would have love to see my choices posted since I'm a visual person. After placing my order I walked the market and looked at all the rare items they sell. I grabbed the Sesame Ginger Salad from the cold deli fridge that my friend recommended and paid. The sandwich was delicious. It was a great combination of ingredients. I was able to eat half the sandwich and save the other half for dinner. The salad wasn't what I was expecting. It was a cold noodle salad with black sesame seed. I was expecting the salad to not be so dry. I enjoyed it but wish it had more of a dressing to it. I was really impressed by the posted menu the Laurel Market has and will be back to try some of the other sandwich choices. OK, OK... I had Laurel market on the list for a long time and once I checked it out a couple months back I've been at least a dozen times for lunch. It is always a busy time here so call ahead and pack some patience (25 minutes quoted at call in about 1pm, that isn't ready until 1:30). I'm not sure if it is the lady at the cashier that is slowing things down or it just feels that way.... But it's worth the wait!!!! Really good Chicken Poblano soup special once in a while and they have one of the better Brunswick stews daily that I've had. We stopped by for lunch and it is located next to the Starbucks off Providence Rd. There is a small parking lot and possibly street parking. The place reminded me of the little markets/convenience stores in NYC. The deli had a great selection of breakfast items and sandwiches to choose from! I was looking for something light so I went with the Healthy Americano with a spinach wrap and a black coffee (they had multiple ones to choose from). The wrap was delicious and the goat cheese was such a plus! Coffee was great too. Staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food despite the line.
