Got a simple oil change/diagnostic check up here. I myself put a cabin air filter in the day of (it's easy to do and cheaper) YET, they told me it was dirty. How odd. I spoke with service advisor and said not to do anything else to my car besides the oil change. I asked him why they would lie to me about my air filter being dirty? His response, "Oh the technician isn't our best." SO... who knows if they are really doing any work to your car... or just telling you whatever to get money out of you. Reaching the service team is extremely difficult. While customers are told that demand is overwhelming, the in-store environment appears manageable, and phones continue to ring unanswered. On my last visit, staff openly indicated "reluctance" to take calls, which is concerning. Very disappointed with my experience purchasing my vehicle here. This is now about to be my SECOND temporary tag, and I still do not have my permanent plate or clear answers about what is going on with my registration. I have reached out multiple times by email asking for updates and clarification, and I've received little to no communication back. At this point, I'm the one constantly having to follow up just to try to figure out whether my registration was even properly processed. I can see the temporary tag in the DMV system, but there is still no permanent plate showing, and my current temporary tag expires May 15. The lack of communication, urgency, and transparency after the sale has been extremely frustrating and stressful. Buying a car should not involve chasing down answers for weeks while worrying about your tag expiring again. I expected much better customer service and follow-through. read more

Came here to get my car serviced for the first time. Made an appointment in the HondaLink App as my vehicle let me know it was time. Megan is really a great service advisor. She let me know that all of my services were covered under my HondaCare plan and that the wait time is about 1.5 hrs at the moment. I was fine with that as I would be waiting there anyway. They have complimentary wifi which I used with a VPN. It was pretty busy for a Friday in the middle of the month. Their waiting area is set up like a movie theatre with a darkened area and theatre style seats. Looks like Apollo 13 was playing but everyone was glued to their phones. The wait actually took 2 hours. Megan called me back out and went over all the service paperwork with me. I thanked her and she wished me a good weekend. Definitely a good experience and I will be back. read more

Problem after problem. The communication is almost non existent within the dealership employees and with me. The finance manager is not great at his job and we have not had a good experience with him. I wanted a co-signer and we agreed upon $350 a month. They never sent a notary to my co signer and then proceeded to make 7 more hard inquiries to my credit without my consent to finance just through my name instead. It ended up working out fine but I don't appreciate the way it was dealt with. Now I'm dealing with them not mailing me a new temp tag or plate. They created a new temp tag without my asking or approval so I've been driving around with the wrong temp tag for a week now. And the one I have on my car is now expired. They have stopped responding and tried to blame it on me like I had requested a new temp tag which never happened and "threw a wrench in the process". I have text messages showing that the finance manager created one and told me to pick it up. I live an hour away and shouldn't have to drive out of my way because he didn't do his job and mail it out. I'm so done with these people. I am now driving around with an expired temp tag that's not even attached to my vehicle in the DMVs system. I do not recommend going here. read more

Had been bringing my Honda Accord here for years. On one occasion after an oil change, the service representative .referred to my Champagne colored car as, "Old Man Tan"! I didn't feel that was very funny and left very upset. This last time I made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation at 10am. I usually wait for it but they said it would be done in 2 hours. My husband picked me up to run an errand and brought me back at 12 noon. They hadn't even started it. Again I was very upset as my husband had just left and I had a Doctors appointment at 1:30. Everyone's time is valuable and I couldn't wait and just picked up my car. I will NOT be going back to the Atlantic Blvd location again. We enjoyed our Honda for over 12 years and we are now looking for a NEW car, but not at this dealership. read more

I arrived at 6 PM for my scheduled appointment. Turns out, I made an appointment with Coggin Ford on accident. They asked what the issue with my car was and I described the issue. They asked if they could test my battery. Within a literal minute a technician came out to test my battery and it needed to be replaced. Within 15 minutes my car was brought back with a new battery and they even gave me a $25 discount. They went above and beyond despite my error and not having an appointment. Cody Lewis is a living angel. I had unknowingly taken my car to a chop shop and left with $6k in damages and a car that wasn't drivable. I was so overwhelmed. Cody went above and beyond to help me. He worked with me to set up a repair estimate and a payment plan with Sunbit. He helped me with rides back to my home, and even a rental car for the week! I came to Honda feeling depressed. Very unhappy. Took my 2920 Civic in with a gas problem and was told the car was just old. 52850 miles is not old. I gave them an unsatisfactory review and received a text telling me to call if I wanted to discuss things. Set a second appointment and was again told car was just old to go home. Called Honda corporate customer service and was told who to call at Coggin Honda. I left a message 3 times with no return call. Feed up with these people. Originally, I wasn't going to leave a review since it was 2020, but even though I told my friend not to buy a car from this Honda dealership, she didn't listen to me. So, I'm here to warn everyone from buying from this dealership. When I was looking at buying a car during the pandemic, people there don't take you seriously, as in trying to buy a car. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A WOMAN. Then, I wanted to test drive a car, and immediately one of the loan bankers came by and tried to push me to buy it. Did they ask me what color I wanted? No. Did they talk to me whether or not I wanted to trade-in? No. Did she get loud at me until I gave in? I didn't give in, but did you need to about at a customer? That's unacceptable behavior. When I said I wasn't going to buy it, she told the dealer to just show me a random car that was lower cost. My concern wasn't with the price because I can afford it. It's your attitude to your customers and how pushy you are. How dare you be so disrespectful to your customers. You're selling a product. It's obvious you don't want to. My friend who didn't listen to me went to buy her car a couple weeks ago here. I told her it was a TERRIBLE IDEA, but she insisted she did t want to drive too far. Anyway, within the first week, a new car by the way, it broke. Let me reiterate. She NEW CAR BROKE. She took it back to the dealership to get it serviced, and they refused to fix the car. It's less than a month in and they're refusing to order parts or "it's on back order." Then they refused to rent a car for her to even get around, and she could have to pay for it? Really? This is how you treat your customers? If anything. I want to make sure no one buys from this dealership again. I would never recommend this Honda Dealership. I used Honda dealers in Michigan and never experienced the high pressure sales. we were sold warranty packages and maintenance packages that drove the cost of a 2017 Subaru forester from 24k to a new loan amount of $32k. I am still paying for this car 2 years later at $654 a month for 6 years at a total cost of almost $48k for a used Subaru with 30,000 miles on it. Oh, and the car...we've had to pay thousands in repairs such as control arms, wheel bearings. I would never use this dealer again. High pressure sales tatics....i literally had my kid with me and told them I wanted to leave since it was late and they kept saying 5 more minutes and it was darn near 9:30pm by the time we got out of there...the whole place was closed. read more

We were greeted by the front desk as soon as we walked in. While Gino was finishing helping another guest another sales person started to help us. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Bought a used Accord that hadn't had the defective air bag replaced yet. Took my car to Coggin of Jacksonville after I was notified by USA Honda that the bag still needed to be replaced, and that they would provide a loaner while the work was being done. Worst 'service' experience of my life. Over the next several hours I had to put up with the following comments and excuses from the so called 'service advisor.'............ 1. "I don't care what your printout from USA Honda says. We don't provide loaners for air bag recall work. There is nothing I can do to help you." 2. "So what if while making the reservation you took the time to notify us that you would need a loaner. No one ever looks at that message field anyway." (Why even have a customer message field if service advisors never look at it?) 3. "I drive a Honda Accord older than yours and have never replaced the defective air bag. Are you sure you want to replace your 'potentially deadly' air bag?" 4. "On older cars it's very possible that we might destroy the dash when we pull it out to replace the air bag. If that happens, we take no responsibility. Since Honda doesn't make replacement dash boards for your car, you'll be SOL." 5. "That recall is two decades old anyway. Why hasn't the work been done years ago?" (Never entered his mind that I had bought the car used. Just wanted to do everything he could to somehow push the responsibility for the defective bag on me, rather than on Honda/Takata.) When he finally agreed to pay for an Enterprise rental car, they had a shuttle drop me off at Enterprise only for me to find out that Enterprise had already notified Honda that they didn't have any more cars available until that afternoon. Feeling stuck and more than a little frustrated, I called the service advisor back and told him to just get the work done asap, since I had no other option other than to wait. He told me that since Honda had expected me to have an Enterprise car, they had put my car at the back of the service line, and it wouldn't be done until later that afternoon. Conclusion: Have anyone, ANYONE other than Coggin Honda of Jacksonville work on your car. read more

Terrible customer service, didn't call when they said they would, poor communication, I don't recommend using their service department! I have a 2020 Honda CRV that I bought from them. I've had to have the air conditioner fixed twice. The first time everything was under warranty; this time only part of it was under warranty so I had to pay out of pocket. The service department experience was terrible. First I was told the car would be ready by the end of the day. Then, I received a text message asking me to call them and they had things to talk to me about. Who texts someone and says call them?? I called multiple times over an hour time span and couldn't get in to with them. Again, who sends a text and says to call them?? and then not answer. When they finally got around to calling me back after I had texted, called and left messages, and then had to have the operator hunt them down to call me, they explained that they didn't have the parts needed to fix the A/C they had just "fixed"13 months prior. I asked if they could pick me up from work since they needed to keep the car, and was assured they'd call me back later that night about being picked up as well as whether I'd get a discount or not since the car isn't very old AND they had recently "fixed" the same problem. At the end after they'd fixed the A/C, I was billed over $400 in labor alone. read more

Coggin Honda really knows "how not to treat" repeat customers, and inevitably missed out on a major sale. Thus far, I have purchased 2 vehicles from Coggin Honda on Atlantic Blvd, a white 2003 Acura CL Type-S, and a white 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L. I returned this week to purchase another sedan, either a 2021 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T or a 2021 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, but instead I was compelled to walk out after being utterly disrespected. I showed up for an appointment with my current sedan, a 2015 Acura RLX (w/Advance Package), that I purchased from Fields Mercedes-Benz in OCT2018. I arrived with the intention of trading it in and leaving with a new car (no need for extended warranties when there's only 2 miles on the odometer). Prior to arrival, I listed my RLX on AutoTrader & Facebook Marketplace. I also received the KBB Instant Cash Offer for $11,000 (the KBB ICO "range" was from $11,000 to $14,000). I had already received multiple offers for my RLX, from various dealerships, including an offer from a fellow Coggin Auto Group dealer for $13,000 (Coggin Toyota, near the Avenues Mall). Instead of accurately appraising my RLX with an understandable deduction for the mileage, they focused solely on an obvious CLERICAL ERROR from a Fields Mercedes-Benz staff member (per the Carfax) that occurred BEFORE I ever bought the RLX. The results: I was presented a poor excuse of an offer that amounts to a slap to the face and was a blatant waste of valuable time. There's an inventory shortage when it comes to new Honda's. Not sure if that's the logic they've used to monumentally miss the mark on an appraisal. Guess I'll have to experience that new car smell elsewhere. Word-of-mouth travels fast! read more

We were recently out shopping a minivan so we could be cool soccer parents; and after visiting several auto dealerships we drove by Coggin Honda and found the perfect Odyssey minivan sitting right out by the road. We stopped and Kalajdi came out to help us look at the van and take it for a drive. He did an excellent job as our sales person; letting us ask questions and not pressuring us to buy anything. After doing the initial sales of the minivan we moved to the finance department and met with Kelly the finance manager who was a great guy; despite being an Ohio State fan. He did a great job getting us financed, covered with gap insurance, and didn't pressure me into buying a car warranty. After all was said and done my wife is now the proud soccer mom of a 2015 Honda Odyssey, representing as she takes my daughter around to all her different activities. read more

Never buy a Honda from this dealership. We bought a new 2019 H-RV. Last week we had to pay over $800 to have the front door seals replaced. I argued that I have been driving for over 50 years and have never had to replace door seals. Brenden the service technician told me that it happens all the time. He said it is normal for the seals to go bad and deteriorate. I said NO IT'S DEFECTIVE. They do not stand behind their product. This was the first Honda I have ever owned and will be the LAST ONE that I buy. When I asked why the rear door seals and rear hatchback don't leak he couldn't come up with an answer. He said it's made out of rubber like your tires and they will wear out as well. Then I said yes because you drive on them and that wears them out. Apparently they think the public are idiots. read more

Went in for an oil. change for my 15,000 mile 2021 CRV. They recommended a brake fluid change, wheel alignment and transmission flush and change. Had them replace brake fluid only, along with oil change. I noticed on my receipt that the transmission fluid was being recommended for a non CVT engine. I knew I had a CVT engine and asked service advisor whether my vehicle was CVT. she said it wasn't. I went to parts and asked to lookup my vehicle and tell me whether it's CVT or not. in 2 minutes he looked up my vin and told me it was CVT.I did some research and turns out transmission fluid doesn't need changing until 90,000 miles but should be be checked at 60,000. Service department will tell you 30,000 or 3 years. Brake fluid should be changed at 45,000. I recommend you check what services are needed at the mileage you have when you take your car for oil change. No need to spend money on something you don't need. Also, they didn't check tire pressure as part of 15 point inspection with oil change. As soon as we left dealership the tire pressure symbol came on. Had to go back and have them put air in tires. There are good service reps and not so good ones, so you have to be on your toes. Do not rely on them to tell you what you need and when. I hope my next encounter will be better and I can turn this review into a positive one. read more

Had a great experience with their service department. We were in town from out-of-state visiting our sailor and when the TPMS indicator light came on abruptly. They offered to visually inspect the tires for damage, checked and topped off the tire pressure and even ran it through a wash. No repair was needed and they were able to get us in and out in under 30 minutes and back on our way. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and professional. read more
