I've been going to Dr. Ben Anderson for years, and my prescription has always been very accurate! The staff is consistently friendly and does a great job answering any questions. Cohen's Optical is well priced and doesn't pressure you into unnecessary expenses or use medical scare tactics to upsell. The cost for a year's supply of contacts was also very reasonable. I actually visited a closer eye doctor the week before, but after a poor experience and prescription there, I chose to pay out of pocket here--and every part of the visit was significantly better at Cohen's Optical. read more

We bought frames at Warby Parker, but since Warby did accept my insurance, we went to Cohen's for the lenses. ( Cohen's had answered their phone promptly when I called to inquire as to whether this was possible. When I called other vendors, the phone just rang and rang or I left a message and no one ever called back ) They were very accommodating and the glasses turned out well within a week, The salespeople were experienced, friendly, and provided service with a smile. They also gave us extra glass cases and copies of our prescriptions on a credit card type of card so less likely to lose. A nice touch. read more

I have been going to this Cohens Fashion Optical in the Town Center in Boca for over 5 years. I go every year for new glasses and see Oshine. She is the best. She always helps me pick out the best frames. I value her opinion when it comes to finding the perfect fit for my face. I highly recommend seeing her when you are looking for the perfect frames. Also , the other staff is awesome too. Diana and Juliana are also very helpful and knowledgeable with their eyeglass selection. And then in the back you have Alfredo who is also amazing. the doctor that checked my eyes gave me a prescription that was not as strong at the last eye glasses that I had for over 2 years I kept going back to tell them that the glasses did not work I took my old glasses in and the doctor told me they were just readers but they had a stronger prescription than the glasses he was trying to make me wear and tell me that I must not know how to use transition glasses yet I told them this would be my fourth pair. I got ripped off so do what I did just go to walmart you will probably get treated with more dignity and respect there ..When I came back the second time and brought in with me the last pair of transition glasses that I had the doctor told me I was arguing with him about the glasses and that he said they were just readers, so I took the prescription in with me and found out that the new prescription was less in strength than the old pair how can this be? The doctor was rude and crude to me because he was wrong geeze get over yourself...so I spent 1100 but only got back 480 so my new sunglasses cost me 620...thanks cohen for nothing but a hard time and you made me feel less than human below are the prescriptions as you can see the one from over 2 years ago is strong than the one just a few weeks ago and we all know that can't be right...so don't go here I regret it and now I have a pair of very expensive sunglasses and a sad heart because people are so rude when they are wrong it is so sad even after proof that it was not my inability to know where to look through the lenses I never even got an apology just oh well too bad for you old lady whatever just go away read more

This review is not intended to harm the associates that have worked at this Cohen optical location, but more about the doctor overbooking his eye appointments and expecting people to wait on him. His time is no more important than the time that other professionals set aside each day in their busy work schedule. I did ask my son if he was going to make another appointment for for his son; he said it depends on them, if they call and reschedule. my son did say that the young lady that manages the place at the Town Center, Mall is the primary reason that I should give them a five stars on the review because she's the only one that cares about the business and she's been there for a very long time. I purchased two pairs of glasses that are prescription and photo-chromatic and i've never been more disappointed with my purchase! Both glasses are too large for my face. One pair was giving me chronic headaches, so they did exchange them, but when I went in to exchange them, I was told the issue was the weight of the glasses. The sales rep only gave me a few options of "light weight" glasses. From the limited selection I reluctantly chose another pair, they still slide off my face and I'm not happy with the style. You'd think after spending $1600, I would've gotten something I loved! I'll never purchase another pair of glasses there again. read more

I had a horrible experience at Cohen's. I brought in a pair of expensive sunglasses that my lens had fallen out of, they told me that they would put in in for me. They called me a few days later to tell me that my glasses were ready. I went into pick them up and as I looked at them , they had a crack that obviously happened when they were putting the lens back in. I had the BEST experience here with Diana. Actually, I had the best experience in general! Check in was easy and I must have waited for 5 minutes or less. The eye exam was good and the Dr was knowledgeable & informative. He took his time and addressed my concerns even explained the process for contacts even though I came for glasses. All of the employees were super nice and helpful. Diana was my first point of contact. She asked me what I was looking for and she delivered! She knew her inventory & she took time to get to know my style. Not only did she show me exactly what I asked for, she also offered alternatives that were close to what I was asking for but complimented my style based on what I requested. She never rushed me and took the time to help me eliminate the glasses I didn't want. She offered her honest opinion of the glasses and although I had just met her that day, I actually trusted her opinion. It did not feel as though she was faking just for a sale. She seemed very genuine and caring. She was very patient and knowledgeable. I will absolutely be back for help from Diana in the future because it was an absolute pleasure. I also had the pleasure to interact with Manny. He offered me an honest & real opinion about the glasses I chose. He was not scared to tell me he didn't think an alternate pair complimented my face. I respected that. He was very pleasant and had a great vibe. Juliana helped me as well but I didn't interact with her more than Diana and Manny. Juliana helped my boyfriend more and he enjoyed her assistance. She was very kind and helpful to him. She showed him exactly what he wanted and was very accommodating. She also advised him of the ones she thought looked the best on him. He chose 1 of the 2 she recommended. We both bought glasses from this location based on the lovely interactions we had with Diana, Manny, & Juliana. We both got our glasses in a timely manner and we are in love with them. I had been looking for an affordable place to get an eye exam for a while. While searching around i stumbled onto this place. The workers are very nice and very helpful. I was a little disappointed to learn that they didn't have a doctor to perform the exams and i would have to call back in ten days. Some time goes by and i call back probably two weeks later....still no doctor. I was again disappointed. I know why didn't i just go elsewhere. Well as most everyone can see my check-ins. I am always in Boca Raton with my boyfriend. This place is located inside the mall down from Macy's on the left hand side. Finally i call back after expecting the same answer and to my surprise after a month and a half of waiting. BAM!!!! They have a doctor, I immediately make an appointment. I go in and just as every other time I have gone in everyone was very nice. The Doctor was sensational. Her name is Gilda, she is as nice as can be and she knows what she is doing. She is very good at what she does. I had my pupils dilated so Guil had to pick me up. Everything looked like a big blur... fun day....oh and also i found out i need reading and driving glasses... If you need an exam i recommend this place call ahead of time and schedule an appointment. The glasses are a bit on the pricey side. I'm sure you can shop elsewhere for the frames. Because of Gilda i gave this place four stars. Five if it wasn't because of the prices. P.S. If you go to their website and choose this location you can get a coupon for a 35 dollar eye exam for glasses. Make sure you mention the coupon at the store. The exam for contacts is more. I had a great experience here. I was actually heading to another optical place when I noticed Cohen's in the mall and stopped in to 'just look' since I'd used Cohen's in NY a few years ago. The selection of frames here is like no other I've found in the area and the service is incredible. I bought one pair and fell in love with another when I went to pick up the first pair, bought those. Both pairs were perfect other than the normal slight fit adjustments with new glasses so I went ahead and replaced the lenses in my older but still in style frames. Those came out perfect, too. Robin and Vincent are beyond awesome, both have a lot of patience and are a lot of fun. Both are great with suggesting styles and make you feel like you're just hanging out and having a good time. There was absolutely no sales pressure. Dr. Galasso was personable and professional, aside from a thorough exam she answered questions and offered advice. My husband had issues with the style (not the quality or the lenses) of his new glasses and decided to return them and get a different pair, they were happy to do it. Robin helped him pick frames that work better for him and he's extremely happy with the new pair. read more

My husband and i got glasses from them about a year ago, the experience wasn't too great but we wanted to give them another chance. My husband needed new sunglasses with prescription called yesterday to update appointment schedule and that person "forgot" to update it. We show up at our scheduled time after driving over 40 minutes in rush hour traffic with two small children and doctor had left a minute ago according to the staff. . These people are great! I returned to the store after purchasing Maui Jim sunglasses from them since I lost a nose piece off of them. They explained that they did not have that particular part for the glasses on stck, but could order it for me. In less than a week they contacted me to advise the part was in. When i went to the store, the owner Vinney took my glasses to th back, fixed the nose guard on it, and handed back to me. I waited for someone to let me know how much it would cost, to only, by my surprise, be advised that it eas no charge. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Cohens in Boca Town Center. After several years and many pairs of glasses, I have watched the customer service and loyalty plummet. My last visit was to simply move lenses from one pair of expensive frames to another exact pair of frames (different color) that I had purchased there. When I arrived and explained what I needed, they asked me if I was a previous customer. I told them Yes and to look my name up for all of the transactions I had done there. He said, 'don't worry about it, I believe you'.. and after exactly 6 minutes he comes back and states after he had switched the lenses that he has to charge me $40. I ended up having to pay it to get the glasses back as I could not see and simply stated I would talk to a manager later about it. A week later, the childlike and beyond rude staff and manager Onisha got terribly upset and dramatic after I went back in person to talk to someone about it. Mind you I called a week earlier for them to look into it (considering I had spent thousands of dollars there over the last 5 years) and to waive it as a courtesy for being a loyal customer but did not receive a call back... The situation then turned terribly hostile and embarrassing from the actions of the manager Onisha created. I cannot believe that person is the manager of anything quite frankly, so please read this and understand you are wasting valuable time and resources there, go somewhere else, trust me. They simply don't understand the $40 has nothing to do with it, it's about taking care of a customer who trusted them to do the right thing. Example, I have purchased several high-end automobiles from one dealership over the years, and guess what? They always waive the dealer and transaction fee for me as a courtesy. Ordered Cartier prescription eye glasses for $1000+. Picked them up a couple of days later. Noticed that the lenses were scratched and immediately returned them. Next day replacement lenses were installed. Two days later polish is starting to peel off the lenses again. The quality of lenses is terrible. Disappointing and certainly not a quality product at Cartier prices. read more

Went back a second time yesterday, and another lady was there who brushed me aside for whatever reason I don't know( maybe it was because I was young and didn't look like I could afford whatever she wanted to sell me) it was very rude of her, and she grabbed the other customers behind me and took full care of them, I gave up and walked out of the store, I was called today with my "quote" for a new set of glasses, and the cheapest one, as I had asked her, still $140, despite me knowing that the cost should be $55, how would I know? Because I know my insurance and know what the base set should cost! Overcharging me $85, for what? Very rude and didn't care to listen to me when she was on the phone, her words "then we will just forget about this then!" Then I will forget about ever buying from you! LensCrafters here I come. I have had issues with Cohen's in NYC after buying expensive glasses and they keep cracking. The optician here was excellent, giving me a good price on the lenses, and showing me why they continued to crack, and saying he'd make them out of the appropriate material. I';ve had them back a few weeks now and they seem OK. The ones from NYC went back 5 (YES, FIVE) times) in one year. They spent more time on the Fedex truck then on my face. ALSO, he looked at the other pair that was made in NYC and said there should be bushings in them, which he put in at no charge. Only reason for 4 stars was that they really didn't know what they were doing about contact lenses and I had to argue with them about what was available on the market (I was right), and the older saleslady has no idea whatsoever about what she's doing - must be related to the owner. read more

When you buy glasses for 800.00, having their staff put them together like a fifth grader's arts & crafts project doesn't inspire confidence.
