Had a party here and our server Luis (i hope i got his name right t.t) was absolutely amazing! He was super attentive and we loved having him. He mentioned he was new to parties but he did an amazing job with ours. He might've been my favourite part of our visit! Would have loved to have given a 5 however, there was someone else around for our party that really brought the vibe down, I wish I remembered his name but unfortunately I don't think I caught it; he was super dismissive towards me and my group, rushed us through a lot of our time spent outside the room and generally seemed to treat us with disdain. Maybe it was just a bad day for him or something else happened but it honestly really makes me reconsider going back. Otherwise I really enjoyed my time, challenge rooms were super fun! My review is of the hotel bar and the "speakeasy" type bar upstairs. What a great concept to have the Hijinx Hotel right next to Holey Moley and have different areas/themes/activities throughout. The lobby has the luggage cart, which is so fun and cute. Then there's the "check-in" desk for information and more. The hotel bar lobby is where's its at! Usually there's some type of private party going on in the main restaurant area or the rooms but the bar seating was open so we sat there. The bartender was awesome, she was friendly and talkative and made us feel very welcome. We ordered a couple of drinks and everything was really good, craft style and quality ingredients. Love the vibe here with the decor, barstools and lighting. The speakeasy upstairs is such a fun, relaxing space. The entry is through the cute photobooth where a sliding door opens up into the beautiful red room. The chairs and tables and booths and even the bar are just gorgeous. It feels very private and comfortable. The drinks are a little pricey here, not surprising! We arrived right at opening, so 5 pm on a Thursday and it was just 2 of us and 3 other people came in and sat at the bar. Love that they have their own restrooms upstairs. A fun game room concept! Me and a group of friends were initially going to Holey Moley to play mini golf. But since they were booked out the staff suggested we go here. It's connected in the same building. We were just looking for something fun to do so we readily agreed. It's essentially a series of rooms with different games setup. You work together with your group to do the different games and earn points. You can see how you rank compared to the high score. And at the end you get a little printout of your score. It's a great place to spend time with some friends. They also have areas where they serve food and drinks so you can hang out before or after the games. The lobby is decked out in amazing cool decorations. I'm not sure how many different games they have so I'm not sure how it would be coming back multiple times. But if you're into arcade type games this is definitely a great place for you read more

Came here for a company event and the place is a vibe! We did one set of the game rooms. Most of the games are fairly easy to understand, but also challenging and very interactive. Afterwards we also did a round of mini golf. I was surprised how well they utilized the space for mini golf. Obstacles looked small, but it didn't feel small when on the course. Food was okay, they had sliders, quiches, elote. Overall, would come back and do the game rooms/mini golf. Prices are about $20 for the game rooms and $10 for mini golf. Stopped by on a hot weekend afternoon. It's such a cool spot that does resemble the lobby of a hotel. A musician was playing outside with no audience because of the heat, but we ordered the large cold Turndown Service cocktail so we could sit outside and listen to him. Omg this place is so much fun! There's a ton of things to do from mini golf to drinks to games. I came in with a large group to celebrate a birthday. First, we stopped by the bar and had a couple drinks then headed upstairs to play some games. The whole place is set up very much like a hotel where there is separate numbered rooms down hallways. Once given directions you find out what room number to go to and then it kind of tells you where to proceed next. Every one of the games was so much fun, some challenging mentally some more physical all a really good time. There is also a hidden bar that you get to through the Photo Booth. It was super packed when we came inside, so there was nowhere to sit, but we still stayed and had a drink. We did not participate in the mini golf this time, but we will definitely have to come back and give it a try. What a fun place to celebrate a birthday. read more

Was tired of doing a boring birthday dinner so I chose to do something a little different this year and I am soooo glad I did! We had a BLAST at Hijinx! You can reserve a party for large groups but I opted not to do that and just did games and dinner separately. I think the entire experience is super well priced. My group did 6 rooms. Each room is different and has different challenges. It took us about 30-40 min to go through the whole thing. I found all the challenges to be fun even as an adult. It great for all age levels above 5. Would def be back for the games! We had dinner at the restaurant inside it. However I would actually opt to get dinner somewhere else at the spectrum next time. If you do plan to do dinner inside I'd recommend reserving in advance esp if you have a large party. But if you want a more elevated dining experience I'd recommend somewhere else. read more

We visited Holey Moley to play some miniature golf, so we had to come check out Hijinx Hotel afterwards. It is right next door, and is also connected inside. It is decorated like a hotel, and hosts challenge rooms, private karaoke rooms, a sitting area, a sizeable bar and restaurant, and a speakeasy. Our main interest was to visit to the Suite 404 speakeasy. Go upstairs and look for the photo booth and you can easily figure out how to get in. The room is lit dimly with a black ceiling, red walls and furniture, and a black and white zig zag pattern on the floor. The room is dimmer than it appears in my photo. It has a nice, chill vibe. We sat against the wall, and it was definitely on the chilly side since there are air conditioning vents directly overhead. I had the Hidden Ember (Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, Campari clarified with Cream of Coconut, $15). It was a little on the sweet side as the bartender mentioned, and it had a pleasant light bitterness. She had the Raspberry Sour (Mezcal, Raspberry, Lime, Egg Whites, $15). It had a great balance of smokiness and sweetness with a light foamy top from the egg whites. Both drinks were good and very reasonably priced. I didn't catch our server/bartenders name, but she was very friendly and our drinks were prepared quickly. This is a cool place to grab a drink and relax in a calm, secluded atmosphere, unlike the rest of the Spectrum. read more

Came to Hijinx Hotel and it was such a fun, chaotic game experience. We did the 30 minute session which ended up being about 5 different games. Spoilers ahead!!!! First off, the waiting area upstairs is already part of the experience. There's a free photo booth which is sooo cute and it actually leads into a bar which I did not expect at all. The whole place has this super extra, overstimulating decor but in a fun way. First game was basketball where you're just shooting into multiple hoops with these tiny balls. It was fun but probably the weakest one. The balls were hella bouncy and it didn't really match the whole hotel theme. Next was this huge tile room where you have to step on the colors it tells you. This one was SOfun and we were so close to getting a high score. Then we did the pool room which was the ball pit room where you have to throw balls into holes that light up. Not too hard but some of those holes are sooo tall!! highly recommend bringing a tall friend. After that we went into this kinda creepy room with a pig and you had to guide a metal rod through without touching the rod. I was sooo bad at this one because my hands are shaky and I kept messing up but the more u complete the more points u get. Last one was like a diner dash vibe where you're feeding guests and matching food to what's on the screen. At the end it prints cute receipt with all your points for each game and its one of my fave things of the experience. Overall I really liked the experience. The vibes are super unique and immersive even if a couple games don't fully match the theme. I would definitely come back to try the other rooms and see what else they have. read more

I ordered the Watermelon Fling, and it was a good refreshing drink. After that, we went downstairs to the main bar and ordered Loaded Brisket Fries and Apple A Day drink. The Hijinx Hotel was a very fun date night for me and my wife recently! We wanted to do something fun and interactive and heard great things about this place. We ended up doing the 10 challenge rooms, which was a lot of fun. The location and the game rooms themselves are very immersive and well designed. Right when you step in, you really feel you are transported to a whole new world, and the attention to detail is great. For the time we went, it was just a group to two, but I can see this being very fun with a large group of about six. The only negative I would say is the price. It is a little bit over 50 bucks per adult for 10 challenge room, or about one hour of activities, which is a tad more when compared to similar experiences like mini golf or even a just as immersive escape room. But I do think it is a lot of fun and has good replay-ability, meaning I could come back and play the same challenge rooms and still have a unique and fun experience. Located at Spectrum and connected to Holey Moley is this gem. My girlfriend introduced this spot to me when she suggested the Hijinx Hotel for lunch. We sat in a booth by their bar and ordered some finger foods. We shared their wings, chicken lettuce wraps and the Elote ribs. They were all good but the elote ribs were my favorite. They were super flavorful and definitely delicious. The staff was super nice and attentive and food came quickly. Props to whoever designed this place. Every inch of it is thought out. Our dining area was beautiful. They had a cute "lobby" area which has stairs leading up to their speakeasy which was also super cute. The decor is super instagram worthy. We booked the challenge rooms and after checking in early as instructed, we were given vague instructions to just wait and after 30 minutes, they finally took us back and nothing could salvage the experience from that moment on :'( The rooms come preselected so we couldn't even choose which challenge rooms we played and the 5 room set had only very simple games that only kids would like... Booked this place for my birthday. The venue and decor are fun, quirky, and awesome. Right when you walk in, the whole place is super cute and quirky. The challenge rooms were fun too. It's not escape room style, but you get the idea and it was still a good time. The event food, though... the ahi tuna "taco bites" were a joke. I get that the name says bite, but these were literally the size of my fingernail. At about $7 per fingernail taco, that was wild. The event time was not communicated properly. The email stated that karaoke would be an hour after we eat. However during the event, it was all lumped together with dinner so no one was really able to karaoke. My friends wanted to see if we can push for another 30 minutes but was told it was booked up. That is understandable but we didn't need Ivan to come in with his availability calendar, I didn't need to see the receipt Ivan so what was the point in that? He was really rude and condescending, and didn't want to listen to my concerns. If that was how managers talk to guest, yikes. Anyways he ruined the mood. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 shooters. We got the Pillow Mint, Lavender Lemonade, and Velvet Affair. Then we got the Melon Ball and Blanco Tea shooters. They're drinks are very well balanced. Tasty but def dangerous lol. We decided to share the High Tea. It came with 2 burger sliders and 2 chicken sandwich sliders with waffle fries. The burger and chicken sandwich were both really good and well flavored. The waffle fries were crispy and seasoned!! The assortment of dessert were like 50/50. This is honestly such a cool, unique experience! Special shoutout to Adrian, the floor manager who helped us so much. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience! The challenge rooms were so much fun and I would definitely go back. We only did five rooms since it was our first time and we weren't sure exactly what to expect, but now that we do, I would love to do ten rooms next time to see what the other ones are like. Our favorite room so far was the one with the squares on the floor, though the ball pit room was a close runner up. It definitely gives you a good workout! The hotel theme, the decor, and the ambiance here all amount to an amazing five star experience. Definitely very instagrammable and they have a cute little photo booth that leads to a speakeasy too! Hijinx Hotel is a new entertainment space located at Irvine Spectrum. It's next to Holey Moley and they share the same parent company in Australia. Unlike what its name suggests, it's not actually a hotel but looks similar to one with a concierge and a hotel lobby bar. Hijinx Hotel offers interactive group challenge games, karaoke lounges, and bars in addition to Holey Moley offering mini golf. There are 15 challenge rooms each with a themed game where you can solve puzzles and earn points. Along with these rooms there is a bar at the "lobby" with a happy hour and a speakeasy on the second floor through a "photobooth". The bar, called Suite 404, is a red-themed bar with a variety of drinks, bar snacks, and small bites. This place is whimsical and immersive with all the decorations on the walls. It's a different kind of experience that is a great addition to Irvine Spectrum and the area. read more

We were at the Irvine Spectrum when we discovered this place. Walked inside and it looks so cool. Feels like you are inside a hotel lobby, but it is actually a game place. The theme is very cool to say the least. You purchase the tickets at the check in counter. You then wait for your time slot, then head on upstairs as though you are going to your hotel room, but you are actually going to different rooms to do the different challenges. Being here for the first time, we didn't know what to expect. Think of it as though you are going to several escape rooms, but it is not an escape room, but rather different challenging games. Each room has it unique themes and challenges. Each room has a time limit. The goal is to get the highest scores/points before the time runs out before you move onto the next room. Once you are done with all the rooms/challenges, you head back out and get a printout of your group scores. In the lobby you can compare how your group did compared to that day's high scores. It was fun, we had a great time. Just be prepared to be exhausted in some of the rooms/challenges. Great exercises. read more

Hijinx hotel is the only brand in the US. They originated from Australia. The concept is a hotel with a hotel bar and a speakeasy upstairs. They also have several concept rooms and miniature golf which is associated with the holey moley side. The lobby hotel bar makes a nice date night. It has more of the fancier drinks. They were also decently priced from $13-$18. I appreciate the minimal price gouge as hotel lobby's tend to be $20 plus for drinks. Service was on the slower side as we did come for a night cap on a Saturday night around 11pm but friendly and upbeat. I appreciate the later hours as there isn't much open past 10pm in Irvine. The speakeasy upstairs is through the Photo Booth and absolutely epic! Loved the feel and the entry. They don't do reservations so keep that in mind. read more

I was excited that I got to try this spot. It's been the buzz all over social media. It's located at the end of Irvine Spectrum Center. They offer parking throughout, some parking you have to pay, some are free, and they have valet as well. My friend and I were able to book online through their website. They have different dates and time slots. We did the one set of 5 challenge rooms which was $23/person. We came on Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. The decor and aesthetics of the place is super cute! It definitely gives a hotel vibe. You check in at the front and the staff were friendly. A few minutes before your time slot, they'll take you upstairs where you'll go into an elevator. They really play into the hotel vibes because they give you a hotel key card and your challenge rooms are the different hotel rooms. The rooms we did were super cool, but some of the puzzles or activities were way too simple. It just felt repetitive. One of the rooms we had, you have to put balls into the designated spot once it lights up. Half of the spots were way too high and my friend and I weren't nearly close to reaching it... We're average height for females so that felt like it'd be a huge disadvantage for several players. All the rooms are timed and we finished in less than 30 minutes. The concept is cool, but it's overhyped for what it is. It was cool to try it out, but maybe that was a one time activity. I'd like to come back to try their food and drinks though! read more

I adore a themed experience, and Hijinx Hotel definitely hit all the checkpoints. It's all in the details - the room keys (which will be your pass to unlock each game room), to hotel room layouts (the different game rooms), to the staff outfits and names (your concierge or housekeeper to show you to each room), they ran this hotel theme to the max, and I'm here for it! My fiancé and I always use our birthdays as a way to have fun and do different things, so I thought Hijinx Hotel that newly opened in Irvine, would be the perfect new thing to try (and something he wouldn't know about and would be surprised). I got 5 challenge rooms for us for $50 ($25 each adult) and booked it as they opened in early December of 2025. The challenge rooms are random and we don't get to pick them so be prepared to be thrown in for a fun unexpected challenge each time! The "housekeepers" that showed us to our room are really good with kids as well and definitely add to the experience with their personality. The game rooms are decked out to their theme and nothing like I've seen, but really easy for people of all ages to figure out and try. We were put on the same team and our team name was randomly generated to be "Easy Going Bumble Bees" which I thought was a fun touch. There were different team groups that were there and you get to compete to be put on the scoreboard. The more people you have in your group will give you a better advantage to get more points, but you can play in each room as long as you have a group of two. We were on our feet and using our hands most of the time, and all of the games were as promised - interactive, colorful, and so fun! I got to go in a ball pit, dance on a puzzle floor, shoot hoops, animal restaurant dish matching, and try not to get zapped. I'd definitely take a group back here to have fun and place a better high score on the scoreboard. I want to try all the rooms! Totally recommend for the experience. read more

Don't let the name fool you...this isn't actually a new luxury hotel. It's more of an aesthetically pleasing, Instagram worthy Game Center. It's kind of like an escape room, but instead there's a bunch of different rooms with mini games and you're trying to beat the high score. It's a really cool concept. I came to this location with a group of 5 on the 3rd week of them being open. The marketing has been on point...my friends and I have been seeing ads for about a year now. Which means that it was PACKED! The concept is super cool and the decor is amazing. But, there are some things that still need to be worked out and improved. It definitely felt like there was not enough staff per customer. We started with dinner, while we did tell our server we were crunched for time due to our game reservation, dinner still took about 2 hours and thankfully we were able to push back the game time. There were few hiccups from the start, like our table not being set up for the right amount of people. Service was extremely slow and there wasn't a ton of communication from the staff. None of our food came out at the same time either. Eventually the manager addressed the situation, apologized and made things right. Originally they offered us drinks, but our group did not drink, so they found another solution we were happy with. Apparently they only have 1 kitchen for both Hijinx and Holey Moley. In regard to the food...it tasted pretty much like something you'd get from a stadium. Nothing was that amazing. I sort of wish it was a bit more elevated. I had pretzel bites and the cheese dip was completely hard. My friends all mentioned their food being just ok...mostly bland. I'd love to see more fun mocktail options. They have a full bar and some pretty cool alcoholic drinks, but the mocktails were lacking. I got the no-jito and it sadly didn't come in a fun glass or anything. For $15 I was expecting a bit more. To management - I'd love to see some hand sanitizers in the game rooms! There is no sanitation in between plays and there's hundreds of people in and out of the rooms. There could also be an opportunity for wet wipes or some kind of cleaning area. Also, be careful in the rooms! When you enter at first they are completely dark and then you "swipe" your key card for the room to light up and the game to start. In one of the rooms I tripped and hit my shin and have a big bruise. I also would love to suggest lockers that actually lock. It would be really cool if the hotel card was the key to the lockers. My friends and I ended up just bringing our bags with us, but it would have been helpful if the lockers were more useable. Overall the decor and theme is everything!! While staff were swamped and overwhelmed, they were all incredibly friendly and upbeat. I think I'm going to wait a couple months until they have full staff and have settled in. I know this place is going to be amazing after they work a few of these issues out. read more

To be clear, no, this isn't a new hotel smack in the middle of Irvine Spectrum. This is more of an entertainment/experience center, sort of like a more whimsical Dave & Buster's. The greatest highlight for me is their interior design and decor. They really nailed down a specific aesthetic and carried it through the entire venue. It's playful, it's quirky, it's eccentric! Half the fun is checking out the different rooms and taking photos. So what can you do here? Well off to the side there's Holey Moley, which is an interior minigolf (with the same charming designs). They also have a restaurant+bar. My friends and I tried some of their drinks, and most of them are served in entertainingly styled cups, like a flamingo glass or a panda cup. Overall I would say the taste of the drinks did not live up to their aesthetics. The main attraction here are their challenge rooms. These are not escape rooms that are typically noted for elaborate puzzles and problem solving. Rather these are fast-paced, more action-packed tasks. I don't want to spoil the surprise for any newcomers, but a lot of these challenges were just mindlessly repetitive. Let's just say this would be a great way to tire out your 7 or 8 year old ;) All in all, since I'm a grown adult with no kids, I won't be coming back for the challenge rooms. But I'm curious to check out the speakeasy next time! read more

This feels like a mix of a bar, Squid Games, and Mario Party. Hijinx Hotel is *NOT* a hotel. It's hotel themed "challenge rooms." These are designed for groups of 2-6 people, and it's more like a real life Mario Party mini-game, than an escape room. Hijinx Hotel shares the building, and a kitchen, with Holey Moley minigolf. Private karaoke rooms are available here to rent. They're downstairs, near the restaurant and bar area. ALSO, there's a secret speakeasy here, that opens at 5PM Thursdays through Sundays.
