One of the best spots I visited while in Fort Lauderdale. The Cuban sandwich was delicious and near perfect. The pork was melt in your mouth tender and even the pickles were noticeably better than others. The Ham & Cheese Croissant was also plentiful and tasty. The Cortadito was delicious. Pros: First, service was very quick and the cashier was very nice. The space was clean and we appreciated the umbrellas outside for shade. Cons: To be honest, we should've known better once we saw the neighborhood we were in that this wasn't going to be a true Cuban sandwich but we decided to give it a try anyways. We've never had such a dry sandwich before; the Cuban bread was soft, but the roast pork was extremely dry to the point we had to go in to buy a second drink to help wash down that & super dry yuca ( didn't taste like yuca) fries that don't come with any sauce. We always hit a Cuban spot for a bite during our visits to Miami and this pick? Perfect. We enjoyed the service throughly, they were kind and friendly. This neighborhood gem is worth a stop. All the items I am used to seeing at my local favorite Cuban bakery, but more! My husband said the ham and cheese empanada was outstanding. My son ordered a breakfast croissant with bacon which he enjoyed. I ordered the medianiche sandwich which was the pork was moist and bread was tasty. The interior is smaller compared to other Colada spots we have been to. The food is usually good, though today we were just there for caffeine. If you have never been to a colada cafe before please give it a try. The food is good and the cafe con leche iced is usually a must grab if you don't mind a little sugar and milk in your coffee. The seating space was limited due to this specific location. The line was long but the staff members worked efficiently to make sure no one waited too long. The parking space was a bit hectic. Parking is free at a nearby garage, but sometimes all the spots are full so it can be a little bit problematic to get here. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and twins for our morning coffees. Whenever our family is traveling, we always try to hit up local coffee shops and on this day we ended up going to Colada Cuban Cafe. This Cafe is located in "The Manor" shops right off of US-1. While the manor has a lot reserved specifically for guests and retail, I was unable to find a spot on this day. As such, I found what I wanted online while my wife jumped out to head inside and place our order. Due to that, I don't have much to say about the shop itself except that my wife told me they did plenty of to go business. For my coffee on this morning I ended up going with a hot cafe con leche while my wife went with an iced horchata latte and also ordered a ham and cheese empanada. My coffee here ended being pretty good as there was a good mix of both the milk and the coffee with the strong and rich coffee easily the star. There was a little sweetness to my drink too which I enjoyed. Then my wife enjoyed both the empanada and her horchata latte. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. As out-of-towners, we were searching for a pressed steak sandwich, plantains, and black beans and rice, this place had it all. The steak sandwich was very yummy. The sweet plantains were the best we've ever had, they were warm and soft, but also caramelized at the same time. Delicious. The black beans and rice were far less than desirable as the rice came out hard and crunchy with two different orders. The cortadito was a heavenly surprise! I ordered a caramel cortadito and instantly upon the first sip wished that I had chosen a larger size. Had guava and cream cheese pastries and they were just okay. Besides the hard rice, this review lost a star due to the staff attitude. We had two separate orders of steak sandwiches, one with onions and one without. The order that came out first had no onions, though the order with onions was placed first. When we questioned whose it was, the staff member snapped at us and told us it was the order for the second group and the next one came out, also without onions. When we requested onions the staff member acted as if we were inconveniencing her, and it appears we were because she came out with food in her hand and in her mouth. Besides the staff interaction and the hard rice we would still come back to this place based on the cortadito and plantains alone. The location also seemed to be pretty tidy. read more

My first trip to Fort Lauderdale and Colada Cuban Cafe made it worth it. This establishment has a cute, quaint atmosphere with a nice view. There was outside seating to enjoy the weather and inside seating to take a break. The food was good and flavorful, worth every dollar.
