We went later in the day this time and the texture was so much better. My kids swirl cone and strawberry nachos. I opted for the s'mores milkshake. I love that This is one of the few places that does swirled ice cream. The pretty swirl it makes while adding the flavor is just so nostalgic for me. Ice cream nachos were one of the most unique things we've tried in a while. I love the little dipping waffle cone pieces. It was delicious. I also loved the milkshake because the toasted marshmallow ice cream was really good. I had her add chocolate and graham crackers which was really good, but I would probably forego the chocolate next time because it slightly overpowered the really nice marshmallow ice cream. It would have been amazing too with just the graham cracker. The service wasn't bad, we were second in line and got our ice cream pretty quickly. Not much ambiance to speak of, you order at the takeout window (much like a similar chain ice cream place) and then they do have a handful of picnic tables around back, so that is cool when you don't want ice cream melting in your car. We will definitely be back, probably to split more of the cool nachos.

The soft serves are okay: they're just like any soft serve I've had. The one thing I was a little bit annoyed by is their sign saying that they have cookies n' cream flavor soft serve, but turns out they don't. So they gave me vanilla soft serve and put oreo crumbles on top and charged me extra for the Oreo crumbles as a topping. I thought that was a little bit deceiving, and it annoyed me a bit. Overall, I think they're okay. I probably wouldn't come back again just for myself.

This looks like a pretty standard ice cream shop... there is a freezer with lots of ice cream and popsicle flavors. There is a random kiosk type area in the corner with a gentleman selling phone accessories, but he was super nice, even pointing out where the flavor menus were when I overcooked them. It also connects to the bakery next store, but we didn't have a chance to go in this time. The place is a bit loud when it gets crowded, so we kind of had to yell to the lady dishing up the ice cream. After we got our ice creams all paid for, we had a seat to eat. There are only a small handful of tables and a few chairs, but we were able to snag one. The coffee paleta had almond and chocolate and was soooooo good! It was creamy and flavorful and I loved the crunchy almonds. My kids both loved their treats too. All three treats came to $10, which is great, especially compared to some other local places. We generally spend around $24 at the local frozen yogurt place, so this was a steal. We will be back VERY soon.

I enjoy the heck out of fro-yo, and building a crazy concoction is one of life's great pleasures. I was pretty disappointed when this was the closest thing we got when we moved here though. I will completely ignore the personal choices of the business, which are their business. I'll focus on the things that personally affect my individual visit. I do like that they have a pretty large selection of flavors. You have ample choices when it comes to yogurt choices and even more when it comes to toppings. The popping bubbles are actually a new one for me and I am pretty tempted to just buy an entire bucket of those and keep them at my house to add to... pretty much everything. Best discovery ever, thanks to these guys. Unfortunately, that is pretty much the end of the really positive things I can say about here. I understand the desire to cut down on the product losses, but one thing that this company doesn't do is have the microscopic sized condiment cups found in every other fro-yo shop I have ever set foot in. You know the ones. Not enough to get any actual amount of product, just enough to decide whether or not the lime sorbet tastes like fruit, or tub cleaner before you spend like $.70 an ounce on it putting it in your cup. They only have two sizes of cups here: big and really big, so it is super easy for a quick tug on a handle to easily cost you $9 and then it ends up tasting like cleaning supplies. Trendy little sample cups would be really helpful. Which also brings me to my next point... This location always seems to be a bit too warm, which means that the yogurt machines are always at punch too warm, so the yogurt is always a touch too melted in my opinion. It would be nice to know that the flavor I pick is half juicy before I add it to the cup to pay for. Also a bit of a weird preference thing, but they do some of their flavor choices oddly. I love a nice vanilla and chocolate swirl, sign me up for a cookie dough and Oreo swirl any day of the week! But when they put pineapple and cotton candy on the same machine... (because inevitably my kiddos will pick that one to swirl, and I let them make their own fro-yo to support autonomy, then pay $30 for 3 cups, and when they get bored or full or grossed out because... pineapple/cotton candy, I inevitably end up attempting to eat whatever awful concoction came out of the machine, because I paid an unreasonable amount of money for it.) Again, a preference thing, but it is still unfortunate. The last reason why I almost hate when the kids ask to come here is because the seating is soooooooooo uncomfortable!!!!!!!! They have very hard wooden benches, no padding at all, and they are laid out where the two tables are very close together sharing one bench, so when it is crowded, you end up practically sitting in another family's lap. It is kind of uncomfortable to either wiggle/scoot from the outside of the table allllllllllll the way around to the opening, or to slide through the tiny opening in the middle and shove your butt in some strangers face to sit down. Either way, I learned my lesson and if it is too crowded, we just go elsewhere. All in all, I go when the kids are craving autonomy and popping bubbles, but this is definitely my least favorite of all of the (very very many) frozen yogurt places we have gone to.

Apparently the owner does a lot of custom work, which would be good because you know exactly what you are getting and when (and how much it will cost.) I stopped by Thursday right when they opened "for the week" since they are closed Monday through Wednesday. Several of the things we specifically came there for were out of stock or still baking. I know that she is trying to find the balance between baking enough for people to purchase, and eliminating waste, but it sort of made it look barren. The display case had one each of some of the stuff that was available, but I just didn't like how empty it made it feel. The shop also has a ton of other things displayed for you to buy, like essential oil bug spray, jewelry, woodcraft, etc, but then for a place called Honeybee BAKERY, the bakery seems like an afterthought when there is so much more other stuff than there are baked goods. The actual baked goods that we could try get sort of mixed reviews from me. I opted for a vanilla bean mini cake that ended up being $9, and a pumpkin cookie sandwich that was either $7 or $8. (There are no prices listed, so you have to ask.) The cake was cute, about the size of a really large cupcake (or two small cupcakes), and I definitely could have eaten the entire thing in one sitting, but I personally didn't care for the buttercream. I know it sounds like a totally *Karen* thing to say, but the buttercream is too buttery. Hear me out though, if you just eat something that is really butter-heavy and not a good ratio of powdered sugar and liquid, it actually just leaves this really greasy film in your mouth and on your lips in my opinion. The flavor was okay, but there was just way too much icing and therefore WAY too much butter so it was kind of unpleasant. The cookies were okay, but again, the buttercream in the center made it sort of unpleasant. Definitely eat them cold because the buttercream just slips and slides out if it is room temperature. I know for next time that I would just opt for the cookies. I would definitely suggest the bakery utilize social media way more to keep up to date on what is currently available, and list prices.
