My mom ordered cupcakes for my little sister's birthday from this business. The agreement was to pickup the cupcakes at 4pm, our choice due to needing to make an event by 6pm for my little sister's 14th birthday. We arrived inside of the store on time and noticed that the woman who runs the store was dealing with a frustrated customer. The customer proceeded to ask us (my mom and I) how do we feel about the cake that was prepared for a relative's 50th. We said it looked nice. However, there were water stains that destroyed the overall photo that was printed for the cake. She requested a re-print from the worker/woman and we waited for about 10 minutes then asked how long before our cupcakes were ready. She stated "about 10 more minutes" then she proceed to yell to another worker in the back. I'm unsure what was said because I don't understand Spanish that well. A few moments later, the cupcakes were made. ** We requested pink cupcakes with glitter in the shape of an L. Super cute! However, once we served the cupcakes to the guests at the event.. we noticed the disappointment on everyone's faces. Including mine. I describe the taste as cardboard and another guest described it as metal. The taste was awful. My little sister was so embarrassed on her 14th birthday! My mom returned the box of cupcakes with no request of a refund, only a complaint. We wanted them to know they tasted awful and we wanted them to dispose of them so they could see they were not enjoyed. Their excuse was that "pink icing tastes like that and it was the glitter".. either way, there was no resolve. Very sad because this place came highly recommended and I believe they successfully did cake in the past. FYI, the cake portion of the cupcake was so good and moist but the icing destroyed the entire cupcake. We hoped for resolve but I guess we wasted money. Honest review. Hopefully, they can rectify this issue!

This meant that we had to either trust other customer reviews on vendors or beg vendors to setup meetings all on the one Sunday we were scheduled to be in town before the wedding. Katherine was willing to work with us. She made us the most perfect package of cake samples I've ever seen. She had slices of most of her cake flavors cut into bite size pieces and labeled along with several small, labeled containers of frostings and fillings. We were able to grab this little box and take it with us to be sampled later that evening. The cake was great and estimate was very affordable. We ordered a three tier cake. Chocolate and white chocolate swirl on two layers and lemon and vanilla swirl on the third. All three were sandwiched with Bavarian cream. Katherine arrived in a timely fashion on the day of the wedding, arranged some flowers we'd left for her perfectly, and placed our topper. The cake was SO GOOD! I had guests also approach me to tell me about their favorite layers multiple times. We kept the very top layer to be frozen and enjoyed on our anniversary and I'm pumped! Counting down the days.

It's an adorable, quaint shop, with no indoor seating, which just adds to its charm. There's always the same friendly woman working the front, while the owner bakes in the back. I tried the viral fruit entremet and chose the mango and raspberry flavors. The mango entremet featured a delicious custard and mango filling within a beautiful hard shell, but my personal favorite was the raspberry. The raspberry custard paired with the raspberry filling was truly outstanding. I also sampled their chicken sandwich croissant, made with their homemade croissant. It was super filling; although I thought the chicken salad could use a little more seasoning, it was still enjoyable. I'll definitely be back to try more pastries and I might even book them for an event!

This is a one-woman production. She makes gorgeous, special order cookies, caramels, chocolates, and candy apples. She teaches the classes, makes the goodies, and runs the business. If you like to support small businesses, this one is for you. The first time I tried these products was at a charity event for Richmond Animal League. I'm happy to shop small businesses that also give back to our community! The products and customer service are worthy of five stars. I'm giving four because the business is still being run out of the owner's home. I hope she gets a store front soon! The products are also a bit pricey. They are absolutely worth it, but it has to be a special occasion for me to spend this much for treats. But, the cookies are truly works of art!
