Most recently we ordered a few dozen sugar cookies in the shape of pumpkins for a fall themed birthday party, and they were a big hit. Adorable to look at, and delicious to eat...we will continue ordering goodies from The Dessert Tray for as long as they're open.

I was tasked with getting some tasty baked goods for the family. After getting stymied not once, but twice (both bakeries were closed this particular Monday due to the holiday), I resigned myself to stop at The Desert Tray and see what they had, provided they were open. They were and I am all the better for it. It's a shop with a smaller selection of baked goods than you'd see at your average italian bakery, but the ones I sampled were delectable. I ordered a few scones, a couple of cookies, two eclairs, and two lemon bars. I'm not a scone or lemon bar person, but we had relatives over and I figured they'd like those. I had my eye on the eclair. Correction, I wasn't a scone or lemon bar guy, but Tracy made me a convert. While not your traditional scone, these were delicious: moist and filled with fruit and one was cinnamon. Oh, but the eclair trumped the scone. The owner's father was explaining how she makes them. Again, a spin on a traditional eclair, with Belgian chocolate and french vanilla in the creme. I'm ruined on traditional eclairs now. Kudos to Tracey on a fresh (and delicious) spin on some classics.

It looks like it's now been just over eleven years since that last visit. The bottom line is that this experience was very good. Arriving on a Friday morning at about 9:45 I was meeting family and friends who had arrived at 9 AM. That was the plan. I've always wondered how this IHOP stayed in business because at the hours that I would normally drive by there would seldom be any cars in the parking lot. Today, there were not only about a dozen cars but also two charter busses traveling between Montreal and N.Y.C. Those passengers had finished a buffet that had been set up exclusively for them and were preparing to depart once they all returned from IHOP's restrooms. After joining my table of family and friends, who had just finished their meals, a server asked if I'd like some coffee and if I was interested in seeing a menu. I agreed to both and ordered the Spicy Poblano Eggs Benedict ($15.29) without any side of hashbrowns or fruit. This was abnormally early for me to be having my first meal of the day. Coffee ($3.69) was decent and my food was served promptly. The Benedict was attractive looking. The eggs were nicely poached with running yolks served on top of tender shredded beef, fire-roasted poblano peppers, red bell peppers, chopped serrano peppers, onions, and English muffin halves. The hollandaise sauce was very tasty. Overall, even with all the different types of peppers I did not find the dish spicy. But it was quite flavorful and I enjoyed it. It now remains to be seen how much time will pass before I visit an IHOP again.

This place has a hot flat grill and a guy there that will good you food to order. I watched him take out a raw beef patty and make my bacon cheeseburger ($4.49). She was wasting 10 minutes of my time counting large amounts of money and was rudely cutting me off when I said what I want. She put up a paper bag sign saying "Closed" then said that register is closed and pointed to a register next to her. After waiting for 5 minutes because she was counting the money in the register, I asked if a vape product is a complete package. She blew up and rudely exclaimed "I have no idea I don't vape". I picked out a Vuse vape package that I believed had everything included. I asked her one last time and rudely said "yeah that's the full thing". Alright. Paid. Went back to my car and opened the package then realized it's just a battery and charger. I calmly go back in to get pods. I say to the women "I would like a" then cut me off again saying the register is closed, then put a paper bag sign back up saying "Closed". That's when she was counting what looked like thousands of dollars in cash in front of me and the line of customers behind me. The male co-owner said to go to the other register. Fine. Wait 10 minutes. The male co-owner then tells me to go to the register I was just waiting at before! Keep in mind that there's a line of like 12 people behind me, almost taking up the whole store. Overall a horrible horrible experience and I'll never go there ever again. There's a Stewart's down the block where I'll vote with my wallet instead. The people that run this place do not give a fuck about you. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
