Three stars: Mediocre cakes all made in Bundt pans are available in a variety of flavors. I purchased three for a gathering of friends, and we were not impressed with cake flavor, texture, and frosting. We decided that the cakes leave an artificial aftertaste in your mouth. There are many very good bakeries in the Capital District with delicious custom cakes, so why settle for mediocre. Other than convienence and location, why would anyone buy a cake here rather than at a true bakery. My friend sent me the lemon blueberry cake for my birthday and I got the white chocolate raspberry mini Bundt cake as a birthday reward and they were both delicious!! I was super surprised by how moist and soft the cakes were and they held up super well in the fridge. I'm excited to try the other flavors because the two I did have were so good! I had a certificate for a free bundtlet that I had gotten over 8 years ago, when our local shop opened. It didn't have an expiration date but it was good only during the months of Jan thru March when I'm usually wintering out of the area. I wasn't optimistic, but decided to stop in to see if the shop would still honor it....they DID! They were very nice about it, too, marveling that I had held onto the certificate this long in the hope of someday being here to use it. In reading others' reviews I'd say, Yes, there are bakeries nearby where you can probably get cakes cheaper and maybe as good. But I don't know of any of those that will send you coupons for more free cakes every time you buy one. And I've never had a bakery cake with frosting as tasty as the cream cheese frosting on Nothing But Bundt cakes....most bakeries use way-too-sweet butter cream frosting. read more

I'm incredibly disappointed by how my mother and I were treated today--especially since we've supported this business for years. While shopping for my son's birthday supplies, we stopped in to browse cake decorations. My mom briefly picked up a pack of napkins she liked to show me, then put them right back. After looking around a bit more and not finding what we needed, we left. A minute after getting into our car, an employee came outside and accused us of stealing paper plates. We were stunned and honestly humiliated. We immediately invited them to check our bags and car, as we had absolutely nothing to hide. What made the situation even more embarrassing was seeing other employees and customers watching from inside the shop window. After realizing their mistake, the employee apologized and offered us coupons--which we declined. The damage was already done. This was an upsetting and unacceptable experience. Nothing Bundt Cakes is misleading... There is more to be purchased there besides bundt cakes. I'd been wanting to stop in and try their cakes for some time. I've certainly been on Wolf Road many times since they opened, I really had no excuse for not stopping sooner. I decided to check them out on my way to Colonie Center. Upon entering there is that pleasant aroma of cake. Many flavors of cake. I didn't ask if they make them on site, but it did seem like there was likely to be sufficient space behind the display case in the front of the store. A very friendly and outgoing clerk asked me what brought me in today. I replied that I wanted to try some cake and she promptly directed me to the far wall where she explained that today's sample was the Red Velvet variety. There under a clear plastic dome cover were a couple dozen one-inch cubes of cake with a floret of frosting on top of each. Wow, this red velvet cake reminded me of the cake my mother-in-law used to make. It was moist and flavorful. I turned to the display case and saw a large number of cakes of different sizes in a variety of flavors. There was even one that was gluten free. Since I had already tasted the red velvet, I decided to explore some of the other flavors. The clerk was explaining what were their most popular flavors, but my attention was too focused on looking at the beautiful display of cakes. To maximize my tasting experience, I zeroed in on the Bundtlets ($4.50 each), 3.5 inch cakes that she described as "single serving" size. But I was already envisioning sharing each one with my wife, so I planned on buying several. There was no doubt that I had to buy a Carrot for my wife, and a Lemon for me. Now I told her I was tossed between the Pecan Praline and the Strawberries & Cream, which she had said was a limited edition. She promptly announced a solution. They offer a deal where when you buy 4 of the Bundtlets and a small NBC insulated and reusable bag ($3.50) for a discounted total of $20, they will also include a coupon for a free bundtlet cake. SOLD! (I told you there was more to be purchased besides bundt cakes.) The frosting petals on each cake are made with cream cheese and butter. It's rich, smooth and creamy. We cut each of our bundtlets into quarters and tried each one after dinner. The carrot was good, but did not measure up to our current favorite carrot cake (Zoey's Double Hex). Similarly, the lemon was also very good but did not equal a lemon lulu (Mother Myrick's). The strawberries and cream reminded my wife of strawberry shortcake, but she thought it had an artificial flavor. The pecan praline didn't have any negative comments from either of us and like all the others was considered to be very good. After sampling all four, I began to feel that I might have been on cream cheese frosting overload. Did I mention it was rich? Well, I am looking forward to using my coupon, before it expires at the end of the month, to try another flavor and I might as well keep the NBC bag handy in my car. read more

Finally got around to visiting the shop, which is very close to Colonie Center/Trader Joe's. We were lucky enough to sample two flavors and walked out with three bundtlets (single serve $5 mini cakes). Every single flavor I've tried so far has been delicious, and I'm normally very particular about cake, but cannot even narrow it down to three favorites yet. The cakes are moist and dense, but not overly so. The sweetness level is between Asian bakery cake level (Paris baguette, or those chinatown cakes with fruit and cream) and supermarket level, which is pretty much just right for me. The frosting is thick and always complements the cake flavor perfectly. So far I have tried lemon, snickerdoodle, red velvet, and carrot, and I love them all. I am so happy to have discovered this, and to know that it is also a franchise with locations in all the states I frequent. Trader Joe's has pretty good baked goods, but I have a sweet tooth that needs something like this once in a while. I actually came back the next day to stock up on more bundtlets, but was sad to find that they're closed on Sundays. I'm not even kidding when I say that I'm considering ordering cake from here for my future wedding. read more

Nothing Bundt Cakes frequents local events, sharing and selling their perfect little cakes - If I see them, I go directly there! They are also a staple that my family members bring to parties. They disappear far before dessert. You will not see me write many sweet reviews, because I am lacking a sweet tooth most of the time, but these cakes are perfect. Perfectly moist, sweet, fluffy, light. I will reach for one every time. The Lemon Cake is my current favorite, but I need to try the Carrot ASAP! OK! so not going to lie I only went into this store to get my free birthday Bundt cake. Well let me tell you that is a very smart advertising on their part. I got the chocolate chocolate chip. It was the most delicious moist bite of heaven. Plus the store front is absolutely adorable. Two days later I told my boyfriend I wanted my cake from there. So,I ordered the mini bundt cake the red velvet and carrot flavoured cake. The carrot was ok but didn't get much of a carrot flavor, I had tried some good ones. The red velvet was good and light. I tried my first Nothing Bundt Cake at the Saratoga Wine Festival back in the fall of 2019. It was hands down the tastiest red velvet cake & cream cheese frosting pairing that I had ever tasted. It wasn't until recently I discovered they had a storefront location on Wolf Rd, so I stopped in, excited for more! I bought a carrot cake, lemon raspberry, and red velvet, all of which were moist and delicious. I prefer my cakes light on the frosting, so the thick drizzle is the perfect amount for me. Long story: it's a clean store, has its own parking lot, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Granted, it was only me and a friend in the store and it was before 10am (don't judge too harshly....) so we had that in our favor. The store has bundt cakes in various different sizes ready to purchase, as well as a massive book of preorder options just as you walk in. They have a lot of other small party accouterments such as glitzy sparkler candles, white and gold personalized mugs and other small gift items, coordinating napkins and paper products, and other assorted party decor. The store has other locations nationwide, so the cakes themselves tend to be fairly consistent. I had the red velvet on this particular trip. It was fluffy rather than dense, had chocolate chips in it, and was slightly sweeter than most other red velvet cakes I've had. The cream cheese frosting was a balance between the sweetness and cream cheese creaminess. The chocolate sample was also fluffy with a sweet white frosting (honestly, I couldn't tell if it was cream cheese or not). It's not the Ritz Carlton of cake stores, but for what it's trying to be, it does well. read more

But a four pack of bundtlets at a craft show this pass weekend. They came in a nice cooler bag to help stay fresh for a handful of hours. The price was very steep Almost $25 four the four pack. We were very disappointed in bundtlets. The lemon bundtlet didn't taste at all like lemon and the frosting was sweat and creamy but no flavor. I didn't try the other 3 but my family did. My wife and 2 sons said the same thing. the cake was nice and fluffy and moist enough but the flavor wasn't there. when you a premium price of $6 per bundtlet you should get a premium cake busting with flavor. I do not get any pleasure out of leaving a bad review but I have to be honest. I think most people like them because the frosting is sweat and the cake is fluffy. read more

Beyond amazing customer service! I love this franchise, but this was the first time I stopped into our local Albany store. It was my birthday and I had signed up online for a free bundtlet, so I stopped in to claim my gift and get one of their product catalogs. As soon as I walked in, not only was I greeted by a wonderful, friendly woman, but she actually stepped out from behind the counter to walk toward me and say "welcome." It was so nice! We had a good conversation and she was genuinely happy to chat and took the time to answer my questions about how long they've been there (1 year) and how business was doing (very good). I explained why I was there and she immediately gave me a brochure and asked me for the email coupon I should have received after I signed up. I told her I didn't receive an email, so she asked me to sign up again, which I did. I still didn't get an email. Rather than turn me away, she had me fill out a form that they had right there in the store and then she gave me the freebie anyway! That's the level of customer service that makes local bakeries like this one-of-a-kind. I will be back MANY times, and not just on my birthday. I chose a lemon bundtlet with their signature frosting. It was moist, flavorful, and big enough to share with my husband. It came in a cute little container, which she put in a bag sealed with their logo sticker. I wanted to buy just about everything in the store, but I had to hold myself back. They have the cutest napkins and a variety of the coolest candles I've ever seen.
