I haven't had Cold Stone since high school, so this is nostalgic when I discovered there's a location here in the area. It's cool to see them make the ice cream in front of you and it taste even better once you taste it. I would pass on the waffle cones as it seems like they've been either sitting out for a while, absorbed the humidity, or old. Plus they cost extra so save yourself a few bucks and just stick with the cup. read more

I came in her on a lazy Saturday afternoon, and since I couldn't treat my Mom on this Mother's Day, I decided to treat myself to some awesome ice cream. The store wasn't as busy as I thought it would be and there was only a single customer leaving when I walked in. They have some many great choices, but I ended-up getting the large Peanut Butter Cup Perfection that had some pre-determined toppings. It consisted of chocolate ice cream with crushed Recees Peanut Butter Cup candy and fudge. The sole employee in the store obviously knew what she was doing, because it was one of the best darn ice creams that I've ever had. Maybe it's the fact that I don't eat ice cream that much anymore, but this ice cream creation tasted great! The employee was also friendly with me which was cool! read more

Reviewing because my roommate made an order (through Grubhub) TWICE tonight- BOTH of which were delivered incorrectly. We understood that this was not the delivery person nor third-party delivery service's fault. I don't have the intention to dissuade people from being customers at ColdStone - the ice cream is still fantastic and I am a fan - but rather call attention to its poor customer service. My roommates and I each had our own orders of ice cream. The first delivery only came with one cup of ice cream - which was none of the three orders we ordered. It had the right name on the bag but in pen was labeled with the incorrect order, so we figured, this was a mix-up with an order of the same name. This was frustrating, especially since that order ended up costing $40+, but ended up getting a refund promised from the third party delivery service. Also we tried calling the store and it went to voicemail which was also frustrating. Second time we repeated the order ... we got 2 of the 3 orders. At this point we so desperately were craving ice cream we just started eating ... to find that one of the orders was the incorrect ice cream flavor. (The order was supposed to be caramel and it was something much more like birthday cake.. and had none of the add-ons). It was very odd. Written on the order bag was the correct name at least, and the two orders - not three - but one of the orders upon eating did not even seem to match the order written. When we were visiting the area in late March/early April, the lines here were always atrocious, so plan for that if you want to visit here. One time we ended up ditching the line after 10 minutes because it hadn't really budged and life is too short to wait a half-hour for an ice cream cone! can we just talk about awesome service!! i love this coldstones :) Very affordable for a great experience. I got the kids size which was quite large. $2.69 with one free mix in yay. I got the dark chocolate mixed in with heath toffee bar. Yummy!! The ice cream is so good and creamy here and they're cold ice bars where they mix the ice cream is very cool. I want one in my house! I'm sure the workers here build great arm muscles. Location is great, near crystal city metro with tons of parking and garage parking. * Solomon was great he upgraded my kids size ice cream to a like it for free, what a sweetie! He also upgraded my buddy's love it ice cream size too! So nice! Cold stone is Cold stone, it's consistently good and there are lots of fun topings to make your ice cream unique. This one is part of a shopping center / mall. While there are a few small seating areas inside, what was really convenient was walking out the door of the ice creamery and into the mall section where there were larger tables. We were easily able to accommodate our group of about 10. So, if you're hanging with friends and have that sweets craving, head to this cold stone where you won't have to bump elbows with your neighbors or hover over a half dollar sized table. Plus, cruising the mall with ice cream in hand is always one of my fav things to do. read more

Even pre-COVID, this location suffered from confusion with online orders, understaffing, and poor training. The current pandemic has made things worse. I love ice cream, and I love Cold Stone. I love being able to make up my own ice cream combinations. The only problem with this location is that the line can get realllllllyyyyy long. I'm hoping that as we get into summer they'll start staffing up more. The line can really move at a glacial pace because they have to mix in all the ice cream. Plus I added a tip even though the guy that made my ice cream was rude to me and the cashier had the nerve to ask me if I wanted my change, but I let them have it. This is my closest Cold Stone and I'm there whenever I'm craving a Founder's Favorite with Marshmallows. It's pretty standard for Cold Stones so on busy evenings, expect a long wait. Also, it's an ice cream store so teenagers will be working. Unfortunately, they don't always put their 'wrist' in mixing your toppings but they don't get offended when you ask them to mix it a bit more. Be warned that parking can be a hassle if you're only stopping by for ice cream like me. With patience, I always can find a parallel. read more

I asked Na'khari for extra icecream so I can receive what I'm paying for and she continued with an attitude. I actually prefer the Ballston location, but this one is more convenient. The teenagers who work here tend to be a little preoccupied and act like they don't see you standing there, but most of the time, they are every generous with the servings... There is ONE person here though that is not so generous with the serving, and I find myself getting angry when I see her behind the counter. They also don't offer any samples.. or sing either. The staff at the Ballston location tend to be a little nicer and they always hook you up with big scoops. I am still giving this location 4 stars though because i just love Cold Stone so much. My review is for the young gentlemen that work there - absolutely pleasant. They were funny, helpful, kind and great to be around while we ate our ice cream.
